When upgrading Dark Energy level it increases a stat named Damage DOWN Offset. Does anyone know what it does exactly ?

Maybe its just me, but I feel kind of underwhelmed with he Dark Area content for a free to play player. I've left my phone running constantly since the content update. So far at stage 8-350 I've only received 2,150 super stones out of the 12,000 needed per buddy and SP support character for the super passive bonus. Unless the drop rates pick up super fast, I don't know how I'm going to make up 10,000 before I hit the wall of progress. I won't be buying dark cores. As for the Dark Energy level up thing, I've gotten to level 31 and the Success Rate has dropped to 79%. The last four times I've hit the enhance button to level up, it has failed. This is an incredibly unlikely occurrence according to the percent rate, but I just feel like I've lost so much of this limited resource and idle time with nothing to show because of it. If the success rate percent drops any lower and this happens again, it will begin to feel pointless to even try to enhance further. I see there are items that seem to enhance the success rate, but at this time we don't seem to be able to get them and I wouldn't pay real money for them even if I could. Add to all of this the fact that idling on dark area stages and completing them does not complete the EX mission for clearing stages that you would normally be getting from the main map. So I also feel like I'm actively loosing emeralds that I would have earned by now, and therefore overall progress as well.
