Sunrise, monster of friendship and love (apparently)

Some time ago I found an old sketch I did way back. This year I decided to do a new take on this creature I probably drew 20 what years ago. Was fun to do! I have no idea what I thought when I was drawing this, but I’m pretty sure the hearts resemble the ‘love’ part.

Children's Book Illustration - Krita Formatting Questions

Questions for you all!! URGENT!! I am trying to make some example pieces to show I can make children's book illustrations on Krita. I want to be able to print these as an actual children's book if I ever get there, but for now obviously i'm just using them as examples for my portfolio. I do want everything to be print ready though.

I came to the conclusion that 10x12.5 inches should be good enough to accomodate a 8x10 print.

However, confused a bit on the other requirements. Would appreciate input.

How should I format if I want to print a children's book illustration? AGFA SWOP STANDARD or chemical proof? and also, cmyk or sRGB? I'm slightly confused on the best formatting combination to use. I want this to be print ready. Thank you in advanced.

EDIT: i realized when you select SRGB that there are TONS more colour profile options. if i'm supposed to select that...then what do i select as my colour profile? so confused! i read tons of articles online but i'm not sure if i get it still. I've always had trouble with this.

Edit: I'll be checking out all that have been recommended till now thank you so much.

100% free app to draw !

Hello people,

My sister is trying to digitize some simple drawings she already made on paper.

I’ve tried two different apps so far. The idea is to import the photo as a background, trace over the lines, and then export the drawing as a clean digital version with a transparent background (without the original photo).

The problem is that every app I’ve tested puts this feature behind a paywall.

Does anyone know of a free iOS app that can do this easily?

I need help on how to recreate this on digital art correctly

Hi everyone! Those who know ibisPaint x app well I need your advice

I want this drawing to give “comfort, cosy” vibes and pencil painted like. What brush should I use?

Second, I want room to be dark (bc it’s late at night) and lightened by the window. How can I achieve this effect of a “shining” window by just painting?

Please guys, I’m just a beginner and any valuable advice would greatly benefit me

Would Grid Tracing help me learn, and is it Ethical?

I would say I'm alright at art, I do it for fun and learn a bit on the side. I may start doing something where I get a reference, put grid over it, and trace it square by square. After that, I added all the details, etc. I just want to make something that i can proudly say, "I did it myself," and post it online.

COLOR AND LIGHT BOOK

Hi, I’m a concept art student and I’d like to improve my use of color. I wanted to know if the book *Color and Light* is suitable for digital art or if it focuses more on color in traditional painting. I’d also like to know if it includes any exercises for practice.

Looking for feedback for my first 2 portraits!

Hi everybody j recently started digital painting about a few weeks ago and wanted to share the two portraits that I've made so far. What could I do better? I've always drawn in a cartoon style and now want to try something a bit more realistic.

Any feedback is appreciated! Especially for how to draw hair!

Securing art copyright

I'm thinking to start monetizing my art through my online store, but I'm concerned it would get stolen or duplicated since technology can do everything now. My art is mainly digital and I'd like to make merchandise from it, I just couldn't bear if I found it duplicated at temu or shein. Is there someone experienced with this?

Anyone know any free art apps for a laptop that work good?

Trying to find a good free art app. Just not Krita.. I don't like that one. (I can't figure out how to change the size of my imported images on it, and I usually do paper sketch to digital art if i want to color something in, so that is REALLY important..)

Please, stuff that's easy to understand. The only apps i'm familiar with are IbisPaintX on mobile and Adobe Illustrator, which aren't free on computer. Thanks!!

I want to improve my art

English isn't my native language, so I apologize for any mistakes.

Lately, I feel like my art is pretty mediocre, and I want to improve it, but honestly, I don't know where to start, I'll leave some drawings here so you can see how I can improve them. Any advice?

Guys, I have a genuine question.

I've been observing this on other social media platforms, and it seems like people don't like jelly art. Why?

Can you suggest any good and free alternatives to ProCreate

I’ve recently bought a new iPad and I’m now trying to find something free for drawing and I know that procreate is kinda cheap and doesn’t require any type of in app purchases or subscriptions but I need something free to understand whether I really do or do not need to purchase procreate

Or maybe suggest other good drawing software for iPads (this is the edit)
