Struggling to put on or take off your jacket?

Hey everyone,

I'm a master's student in biomedical engineering at the University of Twente, department of
Biomedical Device Design and Production (BDDP).

For my master’s thesis, I am completely redesigning how assistive dressing devices work. My focus is on creating a tool that helps people with arm impairments or amputations independently put on and take off outerwear (like jackets and coats).

If this is a struggle you or a loved one faces, your feedback would be incredibly valuable to the engineering process.

If you have 5 minutes to share your experiences, please fill out the questionnaire at the link below:

Hello, I am a third-year student at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (PMSMU), Faculty of Clinical Psychology. I am conducting a research that may change lives!

It's about body image in adult women with prostheses and/or implants. i really need your help. doesn't matter if you have a prosthesis or not, please, i need answers from both parties. please share if you're comfortable!

it'll take only 4 min, it's completely anonymous, and it will make a great impact.

here's the link: https://forms.gle/ptgsu1xMmRoFLuNU8 thank you!

p. s. My focus goes beyond the purely medical aspects of prosthetics — I want to explore how they shape people'ssense of self, identity, their social connections, and their position within society. In particular, I'm looking at how individuals re-learn and renegotiate their sense of embodiment while living with prosthetic technologies in an ableist society.

[Research Survey] Has a healthcare provider ever asked you about social isolation? (U.S. Adults, anonymous, 5 min, undergraduate public health research)

[Mod Approved]

Hi everyone!

I’m an undergraduate public health student at the University of Maine at Presque Isle studying whether healthcare providers routinely screen for social isolation during clinical encounters.

People managing chronic conditions like MS who see healthcare providers regularly are exactly who this research hopes to hear from. Your experience navigating the healthcare system is incredibly valuable to this study.

The survey is completely anonymous, takes approximately 5 minutes, and is open to U.S. adults age 18 or older. No identifying information is collected.

Limitations: This is a convenience sample recruited online. Results will be used as part of an undergraduate academic research paper.

Interview for Clinical Psychology Graduate Class

Hey,

I hope this an appropriate forum for this. I am an Antioch University clinical psychology grad student. I’m working on a project surrounding how therapists can better support the disability community.

I am looking to interview someone about their experience with therapy, what has been effective, what hasn’t and how therapists could show up better. It could be a zoom or email. I am happy to give any more information about myself, the class, the professor or any other questions. Thank you!

My academic email is coleary2@antioch.edu

Hi all! I'm a student working on a project for stroke survivors with partial hand impairment. Our goal is to use EMGs as well as motion sensors to help patients do daily activities. Over time, it'll provide less and less motor assistance as the hand gets stronger (I understand that this is different from person to person, and can take a lot of time). The goal is to help stroke survivors with daily tasks and gradually increase their capacity to do these tasks.

The question we haven't been able to answer: are stroke patients truly willing to use an exoskeleton for extended periods of time to complete daily tasks? If a product like this existed, would patients buy it? The alternatives on the market range hugely in price, but we are hoping our product could be less than $200.

Looking forward to hearing from you all!
