Weird question: did any of you go through a phase, where you thought were psychopaths?

I had a solid half year when I was a teenager where I seriously thought i was a psychopath. I joked about this with a friend yesterday, and she pointed out that it was probably just my autism. And then i laughed harder because how did i not connect that before???

Context: im late diagnosed adhd and autism, and continually find obvious clues from my childhood (and adulthood) that has been ignored / misunderstood, because, well you guys know…

But i clearly developed emotional intelligence and interoception much later, and am probably still a little stunted, so when i started high school and my peers got interested in boys and makeup and parties and so on, i felt such a disconnection, that made me think i was a psychopath. (This was also around the time where the psychopath label was trending, and tv shows like Hannibal and Killing Eve came out)

Did anyone else have this experience too??

Dear Survey creators, Please stop with the apps!

(Delete if irrelevant/wrong subreddit)

First: I love the interest you have in listening what us people with disabilities actually have to say in the matter of research and development.

That being said, Please, just stop it with the apps! No more okay, they don’t work, they’re a nuisance, and there are so many better ways of developing helping tools, that making yet another app that has a promise of solving all our lives problems, that, sorry to say, won’t be delivered.

That was just a little rant, but here is why we don’t want all the apps:

  1. The app market is already overflowing with the exact same amazing idea you undoubtedly have.
  2. This is maybe mostly true for people with invisible disabilities such as adhd/autism: downloading, storing and opening apps to, idk, organize our thoughts???, are just additional steps and data usage, that can easily be solved with existing (free) notes and timers.
  3. I don’t actually have factual grounds for this statement, but…When developing apps, please keep in mind that disabilities cover a pretty wide range of conditions, that many apps do not actually cater to.
And 4. Maybe actually employ someone with disabilities to help with the research and development?

I know some might disagree with this sentiment, but also, we’re a laaaarge group of people with disabilities that share this opinion. So if you want to listen to us, please do so. Thank you for your time!

Multiple assaults - a common experience?

I first experienced sexual assault in high school, when a teacher put his hand on my thigh during individual evaluations, and told me I got an A because I was so sweet. It took a lot of years to process that episode, but it definitely paused any feelings of sexuality I was beginning to experience then. Many years later, I was 22, and a much older colleague took advantage of me after a company-party. A year after this, another episode occured. And a year and a half ago now, another episode.

These are not the minor experiences of icky men who inappropriately touch me in bars or stop me on the streets to get my number or other stuff that i can casually vent about with my girlfriends, but stand-out episodes that have given me ptsd, depression, sti’s and an abortion, and overnight observation stays at psychiatric hospitals. The ugly stuff, and such.

All have been men who were much older, who I have a pre-existing relation to (mostly as colleagues or work related), and besides the first episode, there was alcohol involved. I have adhd and autism, and definitely struggle with understanding nuances in conversations and impulsivity, and apparently there’s a thing called the “autism rizz” - but when looking through this and r/rape, it becomes clear that im far from the only one who has experienced multiple episodes of sexual assault - often originating from childhood/teenage years, and continuing on.

Are we somehow giving off a vibe that invites rapists and assaulters? Are we just plain unlucky? Or how does it all fit, because I thought I just had the worst series of coincidences, but apparently Im far from the only one experiencing this pattern. So what are your thoughts on this?
