Been thinking about this, Sukuna isn’t a cursed spirit so the label technically doesn’t fit well in terms of definitions. It seems pretty obvious that Jogo is the strongest Cursed Spirit we’ve ever seen, maybe in fact stronger than Rika, who Geto called the queen of curses.
What do you think? Does he deserve this title?
Okay for one let’s go over what each of the characters provide (Mahito will be last as he amplifies everything to a ridiculous degree)
We will be operating under the assumption that they AMPLIFY each others abilities rather than hindering each other
Jogo: has speed that is AT LEAST mid end relative to Noabito via Dagons statement. Naobito was the second fastest sorcerer allotting Jogo the assumption of being at least close to the speed of other high tiers like Yuta and Yuki (and by extension Kenjaku) if not faster than some. He also provides ember insects, lava plumes, FAST healing, the ability to flood a massive location WITH lava and maximum meteor if a domain gets popped. Speaking of domains he doesn’t really provide much in that department so let’s move on
Dagon: this guy literally just exists to help with domain refinement and resistances. We find out from Nanamis “infinite HP” statement and Tojis sharpening of playful cloud that killing Dagon is EXTREMELY difficult unless you can blitz or barrage him. He also has some of the best refinement in the verse, being capable of splitting his surehit into percentages and surviving a domain clash without even actively clashing (it was against Megumi but still) he also chilled in his domain for days at a time with the other DCs. Sadly his AP couldn’t do ANYTHING against Toji even when he willingly tanked attacks so he doesn’t provide anything else
Hanami: Durability and an alternate surehit for those with soul awareness. Hanami survived 4 black flashes from Yuji and a playful cloud strike from Todo followed up by a hollow purple, this IS an insane feat even if she didn’t “tank them” it’s a GREAT feat. She also was confident she could one shot Todo and Yuji with her surehit which is more than Jogo or Dagon could say
Mahito: this guy provides the meat and potatoes. Let’s go over EVERYTHING Mahito can do with the other DCs abilities (it’s a lot) and what he provides on his own
Soul awareness along with Jogos healing would allow the ability to HEAL SSK DAMAGE ALONG WITH ANY SOUL TARGETING ATTACK! Meaning this character HAS to be killed in one hit or it will outheal
Self embodiment of perfection provides the best surehit on this team along with the 0.2 domain feat putting this curse overall below people like Yuta, Kenjaku, maybe Hakari and the big 2 but above just about everyone else in the verse in terms of refinement feats. Anyone without a domain also dies to this but that goes without saying
ISBODK: THIS is the biggun. This fucker can now amplify EVERY STAT provided by the other DCs by 200% meaning speed that FAR eclipses anyone other than Gojo and Sukuna with Jogos amped speed. Also provides a massive amp to Hanamis durability making this already monstrous character even HARDER to kill
He also provides Soul isomers with AP high enough to hurt Todo and his stock should be increased considering the humans Dagon ate (tho that amount is unquantifiable considering he puked most of them up) and Mahito can possibly land a black flash
Now to recap. This thing has the best speed in the verse excluding only Sukuna and Gojo. You need soul damage to harm it reliably but even WITH soul damage it can regenerate its wounds. Its AP is high enough to harm even 15F sukuna with max meteor and can reliably damage high tiers with lava plumes and can deprive someone of their CE using buds effectively oneshotting them. Domain refinement is top 4-6 depending on how dominant you think private pure love train is in a clash and if you think basketball domain and swap training is enough to justify Yuta as top 4 in refinement (which I personally do)
in terms of weaknesses, RCT output and the lack of a simple domain.
NOW FOR MATCHUPS:
MBA Kashimo: as much as I love my boy he gets BRUTALLY domain diffed here and soul damage diffed
Eos Yuji: capable of damaging the barrier of the soul with his dismantles but his BM is useless here. He’s also gonna have worse domain refinement and be reliant on simple domain to survive a self embodiment of perfection, which would eventually lead to death. He also gets outsped pretty convincingly here and has no resistances against stuff like cursed buds or a lava plume
Yuki: in a domain clash Yuki has Garuda to attack her opponent while the handsign is up and they stand still, the DCs can just spawn a lava plume on her and burn the shit out of her, ember insects, Cursed buds, and once the clash ends Yuki can’t avoid max meteor. A domain clash is the DEATH of her, especially considering her refinement is borderline featless. Neutral also isn’t great for her considering she was slower than Naobito and this fucker has twice Jogos speed, she isn’t gonna land hits consistently, ESPECIALLY ones that have a lot of charge while they have a million wincons they can throw out QUICKLY!
Maki: this is a VERY interesting matchup considering both parties are incapable of using their best abilities on each other. SSK can be healed against by Disaster and disaster can’t use domain, buds or rely on lava plumes due to precog and Maki’s knowledge of them. She also has the ability to mitigate the speed advantage with her advanced senses so this becomes a battle of attrition that is ultimately hand once again to disaster. Bottom line is that Maki can’t heal while Disaster can and neither is ending this cleanly in one blow. Disaster also has a TON of approach options while Maki has to fight straight up
Uraume: same as Kashimo
Yorozu: actual fries, no proof of soul awareness and her only wincon (perfect sphere + domain) can’t be attained due to Disasters better domain feats
Yuta: Yuta is VIOLENTLY outsped here but ultimately wins a domain clash and can output RCT which leads to a possible matchup diff. Disaster isn’t completely out tho considering it can still use buds leading to a pretty debatable matchup here.
Kenjaku: HARD matchup here especially due to the lack of a domain counter. Once again the only option here is to try and speed in and kill him using Buds, idle transfiguration, and lava plumes before they get domain diffed.
Overall this guy lies in the top 3-5 ballpark less
