Happy 4th of July to those who celebrate. Despite all the craziness going on with the US government, I still wanted to celebrate the 250th in some way.

It doesn't get any blacker, does it? 😀
Originally I wanted to do Hermione using Désirée (Rapunzel fan with the unique head mold) but the uniform I planned to use was too small for her. But you have to admit, her hair is the brown mess described in the books
Next week's topic is Shrek, after that it's hearts
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone in Europe has come across 18-inch Winnie? This is the first 18-inch ily doll I'd really like to add to my collection, but she doesn't seem to be available anywhere. I'm way more in the know about the 11.5-inch dolls and their availability here, so I'm not sure where to look for this girlie. As far as I know, she's not a Walmart exclusive (those always skip Europe).
How do you decide who to keep?
My shelves are already too full, but I know I want to add the 101 Dalmatians doll. Fortunately, I’m not super interested in the other dolls that have been announced. I’ve got a few dolls in mind that I might remove from my display altogether, but haven’t been forced to do that just that. I really like displaying all of the fashions, but that’s become unrealistic.
Not displayed: ily Ariel who is still in the same spot she was last week for Fashion Friday. (This is how I know my collection is growing too quickly, I don’t even notice when a doll is missing from the shelf!)
I really appreciated everyone’s comments and upvotes on my last restyle post, so here’s another! I’ve been struggling for a while to put together an outfit for this Disney ILY Little Mermaid doll, which is a shame because I really love her and she stands out among the rest of my collection. I really disliked her original outfit, so I had her in a relatively boring one for a long time. Today, I finally put her in something that’s fun and interesting to look at while fitting her original vibe.
Doll: Disney ILY Little Mermaid (Disney Store)
Top: Disney ILY Ursula
Jacket: Disney ILY Little Mermaid (Jakks Pacific)
Skirt and Bag: Disney ILY Maleficent
Shoes: Disney ILY Nightmare Before Christmas
The Primark ILY dolls are certainly the weirdest ILY 4ever release Jakks Pacific ever did (but they can always surprise us later !).
For those unaware : back in november 2024, two 6 inches Disney dolls under the brand ILY 4ever were found in Primark stores in the UK and France (and maybe other countries with Primark stores ?).
There was an Olaf doll and a Stitch doll, both wearing onesies,
They were not listed on the Primark website as far as I know : they just popped up one day without any promotion, any information, and frankly any reason, in a retail chain that's not even primarly known for their toys aisles.
At the time, I drove 2 hours to my nearest Primark to search for one of them, to no avail, because scalpers got them all first I assumed.
Indeed, for 2-3 months, those dolls were selling kinda well on Vinted, sometimes for twice their original price (as a brand, ILY 4ever may be not that big, but it's not UNpopular).
But nearly two year later, I've finally found the Primark Stitch doll at a good price !
So let's talk quickly about her, because later this year, similar dolls should be released under the name "Snugg ILY Styles", and it may be useful to know what to expect if, indeed, they're the same concept.
Plus, one of the Snugg doll leaked look very close to the Primark Stitch...
PACKAGING :
It's simple, very open, but impossible to steal : like always, they is a ton of plastic staples...! What I like is that you can easily see the doll face, and touch her hair, to know if you'll like the feel or not.
There is the character represented by the doll in the lower right corner, like most ILY 4ever products.
FACE :
The printing is super crisp, one of the best ILY face print IMO, lol. I may be wrong, but I don't see pixelation in the eyes.
Blushing may be too much, and we have a "Dreamworks face" situation with this girl, but that's no big deal.
SKIN TONE :
It's not exactly the same, but close to the skin tone for Space Buns Minnie and Budget Daisy. I think Budget Moana is the same, too.
HAIR :
Long, and held in a ponytail on the left side. They're not really pretty (I haven't brush them yet), and at the touch, they feel like the Budget ILY Daisy hair, maybe a bit less softer because of potential product (I haven't wash them yet).
I'd say the color is most similar to Space Buns Minnie's hair color, i.e. brighter than the Budget Daisy, but darker than the Stitch 1's.
OUTFIT :
It's basically only two pieces : a Stitch-shaped onesie with quite an elaborate Stitch head hoodie, and a pair of pink sandals.
I don't know if it's supposed to be an Halloween costume or a bedtime costume.
The shoes fall very easily once you removed the clear elastics holding them, so choose wisely.
Same thing for the hoodie : once you've removed the plastic staples holding it to the doll's head, it'll be impossible to have it placed the right way, because of the ponytail. So depending if you want to redress or hairplay with the doll or not, don't cut those staples !
SIZE COMPARISON :
Primark Stitch is small, but her proportions are perfectly in scale with the 11 inches fashion dolls, I love that !
I'd say she's between 4 and 6 years old. She's tall enough to hold the hand of her older sister/mother/baby-sitter, and that's the most important to me.
BODY :
Primark Stitch's body is very basic : five points of articulations, hollow plastic (I think ?), and no specific trademark or year of production in the back. It's possible it's just the same body as the kids version of the Disney Princesses. Even the underwear isn't painted.
If Jakks Pacific want to be extra, I'd like the Snugg ILY dolls to have moving wrists, knees and/or elbows, for better posing, or using accessories.
I don't know how this body compare to Chelsea dolls, Rainbow High Littles dolls, or OB11 bodies, so restyling will be a challenge for sure. If I find a good combo, I'll post it in another post.
PRICE :
When the Primark dolls where found in the UK, they costed £10. I got mine for 12€ total, which is around the same price tag after conversion. And I don't think they'd be worth more, as they're very limited. I bought mine to play the kid for my standard ILYs, and that's all I got.
If Jakks want to charge the Snugg ILY higher, they better have better bodies, better hair, or accessories.
So, just a heads up. I bought this doll second hand and never bothered to check because when I first got her, I only looked at her shoulders and ankles and she didn’t look stained.
So I left her as she was. Big mistake!
This fashion pack she was dressed in has left horrible stains on her arms, hands and legs, leaving me with no choice but getting another Cinderella…
Which makes me sad as she had a great face, non-silvered eyes and her hair was soft and curly. I’ll try and see if I can lift the stains with peroxide and sun treatment but I don’t think it will make any difference on such deep staining.
I’ll think about how to turn them into cool tattoos if I can’t remove them 😅 but I definitely need a new Cindy (and Ariel, cause mine has the silvered eyes and no original clothes, unless I decide to give her custom eyes…)
Has anyone made a dress for theirs or similarly sized dolls that you could show me?
My twins Ilka and Isis went for a twin look to do the family topic. Easy way out 😁
Next week's topic is Harry Potter, after that, it's Shrek!
I’ve had the Disney ILY Sally doll for a while, and I’ve been wanting to use the skirt, but couldn’t put together and outfit that I like with it. I finally got the Hocus Pocus doll and pieces from that really brought the look together, so I wanted to share.
Doll: Disney ILY Daisy Duck
Shirt and Bag: Disney ILY Hocus Pocus
Skirt: Disney ILY Sally
Earrings and Shoes: Disney ILY Ursula
Although I love the first Disney ILY wave from the Disney Store (they're iconic and super cute), the hair quality was not great. Disney Store tends to use cheaper hair in general.
When Jakks released their own ILY dolls, I was confused why two companies were releasing the same doll line but with slight differences. I ended up really liking the Jakks versions though. The soft hair feels much better and they come with two quality outfits. It seemed like Jakks fixed the main issue the Disney Store versions had.
I was sad we lost the inset eyes, but the new pros felt worth it overall.
However, I don't understand why Jakks doesn't have more facial diversity. Most of their dolls seem to use the same face sculpt (outside of the recent Minnie Mouse one - yay for more face sculpts!).
Has anyone else noticed this? Which version do you prefer and why?
I founded out that Ken's real name was Kenneth. It's a name used in Norway too, but maybe I'll write it Kennet. It's make it a more Norvegian version. Even tough both version is used. And so, maybe I'll rewrite Katherine's name to. Either to Kathrine or Katrine, to give her a more Norvegian version.
I don't watch TV myself, so I'll pretend those siblings is watching the match. They're already dressed in the colours and do have the flags. If it's not ok with the beer, I can remake a new pic without it.
This is the lowest price it has been since it was released (U.S.) so you may want to grab it while it is this low!
