DLR pin trading board magic on 7/4

My kids and I made a quick stop at the parks last night and did some pin trading inside Disneyland. We encountered at least four different pin trading boards on Main Street, Tomorrowland, and Fantasyland where there were incredible pins left on boards. The CMs all said there was a kind guest who was going around to leave their extra authentic pins on the boards without trading for anything. My kids and I will also do this from time to time. This made me wonder how many of you do this too. Let's keep the magic and pin karma going ya'll!

Brand new to pins!

Hey y’all!

I’m BRAND new to pins, like just bought my first couple today at a vintage store. I was hoping someone would be able to tell me if I grabbed some good ones! I’ll add a picture of the fronts here, and then put pictures of the backs in the comments!

Thank you!

Prices as pictured, but I’m open to offers on pins I’ve had for a while. Will ship with care. Shipping is $7, but if purchasing 5 or more pins shipping is free.

Tried to label each pin into sections, such as Disney Cruise Line, DSSH, etc. Let me know if you have any questions or need additional photos!

Does anyone like go pin pro pins for keeping in personal collection ? Or are they just real pins for fun park trading? They aren't too appealing looking to me for keeps

And I'm not sure if it's just me or not.

The 10 pin sets don't look like anything i would keep for myself but they also don't really look like pins that would be easily tradeable with a person either.

( vs a board in the park where the trade is always yes)

I'm working on a pin collecting app and would love help testing it out.

pinvault.us is the site I'm working on. It is free to use up to 25 pins per month. I'm deploying updates daily. I'd love some feedback on usability and future features you think would be useful. Thanks.

edit: the free tier will be increased to 100 per month with the 2.99 tier going to 300 and the 4.99 tier going to unlimited. This started as a project for my wife and her friend so I'm not really up on how many pins collectors have. She's knew to collecting so we don't have that many, yet.

Do I Grow the Collection or Travel?

I have only ever bought pins while in Disney or while family members were on trips. As a kid we would go at least every few years so it picked up steam after the first few. As I get older more of my trips are to other places where I also have a love of grabbing pins (pic 2). Should I consider starting to buy more Disney pins online if I don’t plan to go there as often? Or should I just keep the collection this way?

Obviously a question only I can actually answer for myself based on financial and sentimental reasoning, but if this were you what would you all do? Secondarily anything that stands out among what I’ve gotten on trips? A good chunk is from the boxes where you don’t know what you’ll get because I’m a gambler at heart.

Star Wars

Honest feedback on my Star Wars collection?

I just started buying and trading pins during last month's trip to WDW and probably should not have gone to the GoPinPro shop with adult money. I know I grabbed a few scrappers off the park boards, but honestly if I like the pin that doesn't bother me too much. What I don't like is sellers (eBay) where people are being shady about it.

I'm not super into the goofy/cutesy looking character pins or the ones that are shaped like other things. But I'm curious to know what all is really out there. I would love to see some of your collections or sets so I can get an idea of what to keep my eyes out for in the future.

I have a few random ones as well that I enjoy, like firefighting stuff, if you want to throw some of those photos up too.

Was surprised to see the monochrome princess pins at BoxLunch so grabbed them hoping to complete the set in one go, got SO close! Also found the new character stamps and was able to pull the Powerline pin! 💖 Would love to trade for Merida to complete the set.

Not a pin trader - looking for advice

Hi everyone! I am not a pin trader, however, as I was cleaning out my childhood bedroom I came across a box of disney pins. I went to disneyworld as a kid, and I am assuming that these came from that trip/were gifted to me at some point. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to pin trading, but was just looking to see if anyone had any advice on how to best sell or giveaway these pins? I want them to go to good homes, and am not looking to sell them for outrageous prices (I saw some pretty insane listings on ebay :0), but was also just curious if any of them were ones that people would want? They are all from the early 2000s I think, as my trip to disneyworld was back in 2006, so they are pretty old, but most are in great shape. The one pictured separately says "limited 1000" on the back, not sure how rare that is in the grand scheme of pins though. Any help is appreciated!
