First time trying The Communist, their thing is that a load of the meals are named after left wing figures.
£12 for basically doner meat, chips and salad with a drink but I did have the option of rice rather than chips if I wanted.
Very tasty doner cut quite thick with loads of chips. Had the option of coating the chips in peri peri spice which was different. Good selection of sauces although the chilli sauce could have been hotter.
I deliver part time to a little kebab shop in my town. They pay me and my appetite well

I genuinely think some places put way too much sauce on and destroy the entire thing.
Friday night, played a gig in Portsmouth and tried this place. Again, you don't have a world of options at quarter to one in the morning, and this place was open and fairly nearby.
Here we have my usual, lamb doner wrap, chili sauce and no salad. Meat was served from the bain marie and it was a homemade chili sauce. Sauce was a bit sweet with a hint of lemon, alright overall. Bread was thicker and tastier than a standard tortilla that often gets used.
Yeah, as you can tell, it was pretty much just thrown together and bundled in paper. I got the meal so I weighed the chips too, so you can see how much you get for the extra money.
Tale of the tape... this weighed in at a reasonable 547g and for an under average £8, it's pretty good value overall, landing at 13/89 on the spreadsheet. I gave it a B grade overall. I'll be playing down that way again so will probably pop back in there next time.
Passable as a lunch, bread was good otherwise lacking any flavor or quality.
As the title goes, I’m in Hamburg and honestly, there’s so many different shops, does anyone have a good shout for where might be the best kebap in Hamburg?
Hi everyone, my two friends and I were wondering about the best doner durum place in town and decided to go around town to find out. So, we have visited as many places as we can in a day and created a detailed account of the journey, supported with photographic evidence. I am attaching the link here if you would like to read it (about 15 mins read). Also, we recorded ourselves and made a podcast about the whole thing (you can find it on YouTube by searching kebab tournament, if you have nothing better to do for 1 and a half hours). For the ones without time, here is the list we came up with.
Disclaimer 1: These scores are out of 100 and are means of the scores we gave individually to categories such as: meat, bread, salad, the vibe of the restaurant, etc.
Disclaimer 2: We aimed to visit 15 but only had the time to visit 12. Of course, the list does not cover all the places in the city.
TLDR: Choose one of the top 4 if you want a doner kebab in Copenhagen.
After this, we are considering doing a part 2, and we would like your input. Which kebab places are good that are not on the list? Where should we visit for the second round of the kebab tournament? Also, any comments and suggestions overall are appreciated.
You can reach all the data we have collected from this link.
foodtruck in a gas station parking lot. There's a bossman too, but it was pretty clear that bosslady is in command. good luck to them, current location sucks but beauty of the truck is that once business gets going and they can afford it, maybe they can relocate to a better spot. this is chicken (very tasty), i'll grab beef next time (no lamb).
It was amazing.
Shout out to Efes in Canning Town who delivered this absolute miracle to set me back on the right path after a day rave. Bread off camera was soft as a pillow. Salad delicious and zingy dressing. Fresh chilli sauce, and real lamb doner. Lovely staff 10/10 would go again.
