I'm currently silver 3 and just started playing tanks and I found strange to be the best for me since the whole frontline tank thing seems to click with me more than the others. Got any tips or a overall gameplan for me?

How long did it take those who have the moving lord icon to get it?

Instead of portal being pretty much solely a tool for recontesting, which often feels cheap and unfair, do you guys think it would be better if portal was designed to be much more consistent (30-ish second cooldown) ability that reprioritizes it as a repositioning tool? As in, much shorter range and a little bit shorter of a duration?

I was thinking it could even be more like how deadlock did it with doorman's doors, where he can position portals ahead of time, which could enable some pretty cool ability/ult combos (like elsa's ult for example) and act as a quick escape tool.

At the same time, I would hope that they would put some effort into optimizing it better, so it wouldn't be constantly lagging people's games.

Sitting at C3 currently only really playing strange this season and I think he’s a bit better than people are giving him credit for with the gamma team up. The energy increase allows more for consistent maelstroms and with the range increase it’s quite impactful being able to take a chunk out of big groups which is = more dmg = faster ults , his ult is also pretty effective into jubilee who is quite common this season.

In contrast to the invis team up in which I don’t really feel the pull is often too effective and in all honesty the extra shield is very often negligible with the dmg output in this game

Just my thoughts and feelings lemme know what you think

I personally would just remove the range falloff, like whats the point? It doesnt even boost the malestrom damage so might as well be off with it

And another buff i would give is Strange getting 5 dark energy per every enemy he hits in Ult. This would add to the aggressive playstyle of Gamma strange since the whole idea of it is fast dark magic buildup. Would incentivize more for us to hit every enemy possible with the Ult. Fair since the ult is easily countered anyway

I am a tank main, I have like over 140 hours on Strange although I do play a lot of other tanks (overall 900 hours in game) , I've been wanting to go GM for a couple of seasons now, but I get stuck in Diamond - Plat for last few seasons.

Now this season specifically, it feels so miserable to play Strange, every comp it feels like I am forcing him. Every game my opponents stack with Mag, Dino or Thing... which are literally so hard for Strange, like you literally cannot do anything each of them wipe the fuck out of you. If they do have a dive , Strange struggles against killing Venom or Cap, co-ordinated dive teams are even worse. I am literally getting rolled over if I try to tank. His ult is top 10 dogshit ult of all time, yes I hit clips like once a eternity but every single character has some form of ult denial. The most picked supports luna and cnd can easily deny your ult. Yesterday, I hit my ult on 100 charge multiple times and still no one died. Strange struggles to peel as well if opponent has a bucky or good starlord might as well uninstall.

Maybe I have skill issue. I need help man, how do I fix this? This season I am struggling to get any picks at all, a good ton of my opponents just play 3 supports with a smurf dps who goes like 40 finals, and no one ever dies. Lately all I've been doing is just stalling infinitely till my support die. Do I just give up on Strange and tanking? Is there something that can be done? Would love to hear from the pro Strange players.

I'm not sure what rank and platform everyone is in, but for myself in Celestial he is a throw-pick. Not only does he have one of the worst ultimates in the game, but by playing him you prevent your teammates from using his portal to win games/rounds. For instance, my team lost a game because the enemy team intentionally did not kill me and I couldn't die/get back to portal. Thus, we lost the game.

In contrast, they were playing Mag + Hood and were able to clutch a portal for the first point because no one was playing Strange. Therefore, I was basically throwing by playing Strange over any other tank (or at least when you're a decent bit into the game/time is running out); we would've won if they couldn't've swapped to Strange and TPed back. This is terrible game design as to punish you for wanting to play a character like this, and I'm sick of Strange being so ass whilst Mag dominates, as has been the case for basically the ENTIRE duration of this game's lifespan.

Additionally, his team-ups are just lame and pretty bad. They're reskins of Maelstrom that, comparatively, do very little. Compare this to Mag who got a clone and an infinite(?) ranged sword that can three shot squishies and it's laughable. Strange is doo-doo and the new buffs haven't helped him much at all. He is a master at nothing and I struggle to fathom any situations in where you should play him over Mag; he is a complete portal bot and only debatably better in very low elo where you constantly get free ults and can punish tanks for not holding space as to burst down squishies.

Netease need to fix his reliance on OT portals and give him new team-ups shortly that don't just mildly reskin his E. He is literally the Sorcerer Supreme and one of the canonically strongest characters on the roster, yet Black Cat somehow has far more magical abilities.

Yah sure im sacrificing the 1000 hp shield but since the maelstrom is 6 seconds CD now and the fact that i never have to worry abouy Anti-heal ever again is way too good to pass up for me

Shame it doesnt do bonus damage but its way better than before now

Had a game where someone was threw cause i was using Strange against Hood thats why im asking

I can juggle all the others on dr. Strange but when it comes to the Dino, I get rushed and can’t hold it down…

Any advice or tips? Thanks.

How do you play this? He's kinda hard to play against since Strange wants to be close to deal damage. Any help is welcome
