What's next

  • Broader performance improvements across the web & mobile apps.
  • Vault file preview and optimizations.

Closing thoughts

Thank you for following this week's Highlights.

This week's updates are lighter because we've been preparing for something big. We previously hinted at something significant for our desktop apps. In a few days, we'll finally share what we've been working once our Changelog for June comes out.

Exciting things are coming. Stay tuned.

Regain Deleted Vault Space?

I backed up several TB into an encrypted vault on Drime and, due to my own foolishness, lost access to it.

It was not a huge deal as the data was easily replaceable, so I deleted the vault.

I didn't get the space back, however. My Drime home page still shows the 2TB being used. Is there something I need to do to reclaim the space?

Starting with Drime

I'm about to start my journey with Drime and need to understand the most efficient way of uploading stuff. I have about 400 GB or so, probably less.

Should I upload via the web interface or need to download the desktop app?

I don't know how to use rclone so that option is out for me.

I'll be uploading in chunks of 30-40 GB at once (or should I decrease it)?

What's the most efficient way to get started?

Thanks!

Delay in account activation. +2 days

Is anyone else experiencing this?..

It has been more than two days since I purchased the Lifetime plan, and it still hasn't been activated. I sent an email to support on the same day of the purchase, but I haven't received a response.

I am quite patient, and I read that they had a backlog of orders, but I feel that nearly three days is a long time.

I tried sending a message via Reddit to ask about the API and mention that I was "patiently waiting for activation," but I didn't get a response regarding the activation itself, only some information about the API.

Is there some reason for the delay that I’m unaware of? If anyone else is experiencing the same thing, please let me know. It would be enough for me just to know what is going on.

I hope I’m not the only one.

Preserving timestamps on pictures

Hello,

what is the best way to bring my pictures over from OneDrive while retaining the timestamps?

I did this through rclone and all my pictures show up in the gallery on upload date. I also read on the rclone website that drime's API doesn't support timestamps.

Is there any way to do this?

Drime upload speed is extremely slow despite having great internet. Anyone else?

Hey everyone, I’m dealing with a massive speed bottleneck on Drime right now.

I've attached screenshots of my speed test and my Drime upload status. As you can see, my actual internet connection is excellent, but Drime is barely moving. It feels like a server-side restriction or a routing issue on their end.

I already emailed their support team about this inconsistency, but I haven't received a response yet. Is anyone else experiencing this server lag, or is there a specific network configuration I should change?

Finalizing in progress...

Hi!

Since a couple of days, I can no longer upload files. It does not matter if I upload one file or several, use Firefox or Chrome. I have two accounts and both show the "Finalizing in progress..." when I upload. When I cancel the process, nothing is on the server.

Anybody else experiencing this issue? Is there a solution to solve this?

Vault + rclone integration is missing a pretty important use case

Drime already supports rclone, which is great. But their Vault feature (for encrypting files) isn’t integrated with it at all.

So you end up with this split:

  • Vault => gives you the provider’s encryption
  • rclone => gives you flexibility, tons of backends, and its own encryption (crypt)

But you can’t actually combine them.

If you go the Vault route, you lose rclone entirely. If you go the rclone route, you’re not using Vault anymore, you’re relying on rclone’s encryption instead.

That means you’re forced to choose between:

  • Vault’s security model
  • rclone’s ecosystem and convenience

And importantly, you can’t do layered encryption (Vault + rclone), even if you wanted to, because Vault simply isn’t accessible through rclone.

That’s the real limitation.

What feels missing is a way to:

  • use Vault’s encryption
  • access it through rclone
  • optionally layer rclone’s own encryption on top in a controlled way

Right now, none of that is possible without completely switching approaches.

Native integration would turn this from a forced tradeoff into something actually flexible.

Curious if others have run into this, or if there’s something I’m missing.

Thank you for following along with these Highlights.

A lot more happened this week than what's visible here. The Cloud Migration feature mentioned last week got pushed back because we've been deep in something genuinely significant for our desktop apps.

We can't reveal details yet, but this is no routine update. Beta testers will be needed so watch this space.

See you in the next one.

Thank you Drime!

u/Empty_Win_297 - Tibalt, I know times have been rough lately, but I want to thank you all for everything you have been doing. I'm looking forward to all that is coming. I especially love the updates you have been giving on this sub.

To everyone else - I have seen several posts about adding additional storage and some of you all saying it's taking days to get it added. I actually purchased 6TB last night to add to my storage. I sent an email about my storage and went in today to check to see it was there because I hadn't received a reply that it had been added. To my surprise, the additional storage was there.

I'm not sure if this mattered or helped, but when I sent the email, I forwarded a copy of the receipt of purchase from the account associated with my Drime account along with a quick message that I would like to add the additional storage. I figured this would save them some time from looking to confirm the purchase and having the correct email address.

Hope this helps you all.

Purchased a 6TB Lifetime Drime Cloud Storage Plan, but My Account Only Shows 500GB

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the 6TB Lifetime storage plan from Drime, but today i check my account, it only shows 500GB of available storage.

I'm not sure if this is a temporary issue, if the upgrade takes some time to apply, or if something went wrong with my account.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you resolve it?

I've already checked my account, but it still displays 500GB. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help!
I already sent email

Drime Sign Bug in Forms with Fields?

Have multiple instances of Drime Sign showing old form field values after signing today. The original forms were checked to have the correct values and the latest versions were saved before being uploaded to Drime Sign. The correct values were shown even when the signers reviewed and signed the documents. We then found that some fields reverted to the old values that had already been removed or changed before the upload for no apparent reason.

This is very frustrating and makes Drime Sign an unreliable product for procuring electronic signatures. If these forms were larger with many more fields, it wouldn't have been possible to flag these anomalies.

On a separate note, we also notice that Drime Sign appears not to embed signature certificates into signed PDF's with form fields. Is there a reason for this and should we expect any change in the near future?

Could u/Empty_Win_297 and team please take a look and let us know what to expect?

Many thanks!
