Hello! I have been using stuffed animals as emotional support my entire life. And I discovered this reddit because of it!
My entire life (especially now that I can buy things on my own) I have had a tendency to stumble across various stuffed animals on eBay, I spent a long time feeling confused because I would see a photo of a plushie, and obsess and have to look at it 24/7 ect ect
Most of the time, it fades off. But I've bonded with at least four stuffed animals that (at the time) I've never seen or touched.
And when I DO buy them when the bond is strong enough to me that it manifests....I'm not sure how to say this and sound sane, like.
I guess it manifests stronger reactions and feelings, and the effectiveness can be altered as well. It's usually so strong I have to put plushies down to recuperate while holding them?
Point of the post : has anyone experienced anything similar? Or is it just my particular cocktail of mental disorders? Thank you!
I just ordered a few plushies, and I’m curious to see who others are waiting on for their arrival! I’m waiting on a handmade green creature plushie and a sluuumpy Aurora dinosaur! I’m super excited
I was finally able to afford a cute Tyson wolf! Kinda questioning the texture or maybe the face of the Tyson wolf. What’s your opinion on the Tyson wolf! Is he a good pup to have? 🩷🐾✨
Running some errands… passed by the paper store. Beau begged to go in. We found the general German shepherd and had to bring him home!! They also had Maizie and I was tempted but I think Beau (Trevor) is very similar to Maizie! Maizie was so soft and cuddly it was hard to put her down but I just adore the general German shepherd! I’m glad I went with him! I just wish he had a leatherette nose instead of plastic. Gonna go shopping for collars now! :)
This is my newest ESSA wolf that I’ve bought today, which size of gear fits him the best or perfectly?? The seller will shipped him off to me tomorrow morning so I would like to get an harness vest and cute accessories for him!!! I am literally so excited for him!!!!!!!
Hi everyone!! So I know Tyson wolves are going for like 500+ dollars right now, which honestly I think is crazy, but I was wondering if anyone be willing to sell one for less? I’d really like one, and right now I can pay about $150. I know it’s low, but honestly I think we should lower the amount these go for anyways. Any help or offer is appreciated, thank you!
( in order) Ivan,Magpie,Roadkill,Sherry and Truffle!
pokémon has been my special interest since i was little and although dedenne isnt my favorite pokémon, i developed a huge attachment to this guy and he helps me out a lot in places with lots of people
I had big bear for a lot of years, and he always brought me a lot of comfort.
I really loved the idea of taking him out and about but not only is he a big boi, he is super sentimental, so I didnt feel great about doing that.
I decided to see if I could find a doppelganger to take out with me, and I was lucky enough to find little bear! They don't appear to be the same brand but are definitely made from the same pattern.
I also have a doppelganger of my childhood keel toys dog, since they came in different sizes :)
Big ones are great for cuddling at home and smaller ones are great for travel lol.
Anyone else?
he both supports and ruins me emotionally. i love him. 🧟♂️ 🖤
My essa, Turtle is a Douglas Dog border collie and I feel like this is proof that no matter how popular or famed a brand or plush is, a good bond is not guaranteed. I love Turtle, she's extremely cute and lovely to hold, but I don't quite have the same bond with her as some other plushies, like my catfish, shark or snake plushies, most of them unconventional. I think a part of this has to do with fragility and the fear of ruining my expensive Douglas dog, while the others I can sort of beat around or cry and scream into, and nothing happens, I think I find comfort in their durability. If I never got into the TikTok community I probably never wouldn't have gotten a Douglas. So just a warning that I think the bond of a plush depends entirely on yourself and not the plushie, no matter the popularity or trend. Just ranting because I'm kind of disppointed on not being so close with Turtle.
Also I'm not trying to offend those who have great bonds with trendier ESSAs, just saying choose what you like, let your bond come naturally, and don't force yourself to follow trends.
I love big colorful plushies more than anything, but for me personally the thought of drawing attention to myself in public would just outweigh any comfort from my plushie friend. So I present to you, Quincy! She’s pretty small (8”) and I made her gear black and gray to keep it less obvious…though I couldn’t resist adding in small rainbow details 😂
Now I just need to find a little messenger bag or something she can ride in—I’d love suggestions if anyone has any!
So I’m currently on the way to Florida for a Disney world visit! And I really want to take my essa scout with me.so I was wondering what it’s like to get through the gate at Disney if you have took your essa with you to Disney? Did they give you a hard time? Were they allowed? I wanna know your experience!
I just love him so much! We’re watching TV together! I want to get him a collar! Should I go to a pet store or shop online? Where do you guys get your accessories?
Made them from cardboard, hot glue, and some safety pins. Oh right I have a hot glue gun now sooooo
