Hi all. Just got nobody in my life to talk about pc stuff i do so I'm here to share.
Since january this year i'm building my first pc. Bought old system for 100$ and slowly upgraded month by month.
Picked up this beauty couple of weeks ago and took some pictures while i was doing some cleaning, repasting and changing thernal pads.
I paired it with 5800x3d and 32gigs of gskill trident z neo 3600mhz cl16

I have an RTX 3080 XC3, it’s such a gorgeous and Slim card, I really loved the design language of EVGA throughout their gpu generations.
Since they announced leaving the gpu market I had been a bit disconnected from PC building news/content (besides SFF) So I didn’t care/noticed much how ugly the cards are in my opinion only the Flagships are good looking but paying a premium on a card that is already pretty expensive (Thank you AI) hits really bad. So yeah… I miss EVGA, I guess my only hope is to the other cards manufacturers to up their designs from their non-Flaghships
Just started having issues with my 3090. The pictures are right around the 10 min mark of a stress test. Over the past two days I’ve had my computer do the black flickering then just freeze 3 times while gaming. Never recovered just frozen and kept running until I turned it off (long hold on power button). When gaming probably happened about two hours in, sorta heavy game (WarDogs) GPU usually sits around 80-83c. This stress test was with side panel off as I just blew it out.
I’ve never replaced the thermal pads. (Considering doing this but never done it before)
Never had issues like this in the past.
Computer was purchased Jan of 2022 a CyberPower rig.
i7-12700k
32gb Ram
RM850 psu
No overclocking
3 monitors- 2x1440p and a 3440x1440 monitor.
Any advice is welcome, I’ve seen that these over heat but it’s been that hot in the past. I want to make sure I’ve done everything else before thermal pads as I’ve never done them. All softwares are up to date. What else do ya think?
