I know there has been a landslip at polegate meaning a 20mph speed limit has been put on all trains between Eastbourne and Lewes but I don’t know how much longer I can take the almost extra hour it takes to get into Brighton 😅
Anybody got any suggestions on anything for us to do tonight? We’re open to suggestions.
Thanks.
If you're planning to visit Eastbourne for the Airshow, don't bother taking the train as there are multiple cancellations today (probably until the whole of next week).
The only way from London is via Brighton, but there are no direct trains because of a "landslide" today.
Trains only go up Polegate, then you'll have to get a bus replacement to Eastbourne.
This goes either way so expect heavy queues in Polegate.
With the landslide plus the derailment the other day, the train also needs travel at less than 20mph to be "safe" - your usual 20min long journey will now take more than an hour.
There's are no air-conditioning on both bus and trains either, to comfort you during this grueling journey.
It would be much better and more comfortable to take an x bus instead.
Southern railway will also try to get your money and hook you into buying tickets by posting fake "dalayed" schedules on the boards - but don't be fooled!
In total, we ended up waiting 1.5hrs in Brighton for a train to show + 1.2hrs train journey + 20min bus ride.
Be sure to keep your tickets and claim for delay compensation of 100% for more tha 60min delays.
Stay safe everyone!
I see national rail is suggesting London to Brighton but then from Brighton to Eastbourne is the train still running?
Or should I go from hasting which seems to be a longer route but trains are running
This weekend, as many are out and about, I challenge you to compliment at least one stranger!
We never know what's going on in people's lives, and I think sometimes we tend to focus on the negative. So this weekend, let's focus on the positive and just spread some love in the community.
Who knows, you might make someone's day 😊🫶
Good day all.
I will be in Eastbourne for 12 days in September.
Can anyone tell me if there are any gyms in town that offer a week pass or short term options.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hey guys,
last night, i foolishly left my bag unattended for about 5 minutes and came back to find it stolen. Luckily it was handed into a police station, with my diary and passport. Unfortunately, my Nintendo Switch with a lot of sentimental value has been stolen. I was wondering if anyone knows where stolen goods are sold here, or if anyone would have any leads on how to get it back.
Much thanks
Hello, I can’t seem to find any information on what times the display will start on Saturday? Is there a time slot for each aircraft? Also can I buy a programme on the day or do I have to order it. Thank you
Hey all!
Me and my guys will be at Airbourne running a collection, with a 70/30 split to local charities.
We are a peer support, sea-dipping group and we aim to support men by giving them a reason to come together as a community to share the benefits of cool water immersion and the camaraderie of other men from all walks of life, who have found companionship and brotherhood with each other.
Many of our guys have said to me that they would not be here if they hadn't found the group. We have saved lives by doing what we do and we aim to keep on saving lives!
We started in Eastbourne and have since branched out to Seaford and Hastings.
If you see any of our guys down there, ask them about our aims and mission!
If you, or someone you know needs support, please encourage them to come and see us, Sunday 7am or Wednesday 7pm Wish Tower Slopes beach.
See what we do here- Insta: @trunksandhunks
Looking for advice. I have two kids 2-4 who love planes, but queuing and crowds less so.
Does anyone have any recommendations for local areas/pubs where you could get a reasonable view of some of the planes without needing to be in the thick of it at the sea front? A bit like the White Bear used to be a good option for Biggin Hill?
Thank you.
Hello everyone! Happy Airbourne!
As this is usually our busiest time for posts and comments due to Airbourne and all the other tourist stuff, we are relaxing the filters on posts so you won’t have to await approval, hopefully! Please let us know if any posts are stuff in review and we will do our best to get them approved.
Us mods would like to be out to enjoy in all too, so we want comments and posts getting out asap, please don’t abuse the rules, please try not to ask them same questions over and over, once one of you has posted flight times for the day, I’ll try to pin it to the top asap.
I do appreciate that we all want flight times etc, and I do agree that paper booklets for flight times etc is a waste of paper and cost! But at the same time, Airbourne relies entirely on donations to keep happening for free, so if you do use this page to get info, please do donation to one of the volunteers, and please take your rubbish with you! The clean up is all done by Friends of Eastbourne Seafront and volunteers, the councils don’t do it, and if they have to it comes out the budgets for next year!
Happy Airbourne all!
Great day for it. Flying times?
Hi, we’re visiting for a couple of days from Nottingham and wondered if anyone knows of any good vegan places to eat out. good Grub is sadly closed as we’re visiting on Monday and Tuesday, so any other suggestions gratefully accepted.
Only one of us is vegan, so if it’s a meat seller and does good vegan dishes, that’s even better as far as I’m concerned 😂.
Thanks for your help.
But.....tbh, it was a bit over hyped?
None of the Amazon ones come before Thursday 😔 am willing to go almost anywhere at this point lol
