Alright, so I've been enjoying a break from emo music for my annual summertime reggae binge, and while revisiting Bad Brains' self-titled record, I was hit with inspiration. What if there were an emocore equivalent...
Think about it, right? 🤔
Emo + Reggae = Emo 'n' Gae, or "Emogae" for short.
However, I feel that a one-to-one emocore version of Bad Brains would be boring and played out, with the only real change being a shift to radically introspective lyrics. To modernize, other subgenres should be utilized. For example, sasscore relies heavily on dancy electronic interludes, so what if there were sass songs with dancehall influence?
We could call that spinoff "Sassy Emo 'n' Gae."
That's as far as I've thought about it, so let me know if you have any ideas for this potential groundbreaking new genre.
Edit: Would Screamo + Reggae be called "Skreggae" or "Screamogae?"
