Empire Tw Appreciation post

Honestly, I played this game when I was like 10 and had no clue what I was doing, as I grew older other total wars came out and I never gave this game the time of day.

But now, coming back to it, the depth of some of the mechanics kind of blows my mind. Not only do I have a new found Appreciation of this game, but I also lament the things we lost in newer titles.

Yeah it's not perfect, but the vision was amazing and it's just so fun building an economy and fighting battles.

Played as Mughal Empire

Played as the Mughal Empire by changing the setting.

The Mughal Empire is crumbling it is quite true. There are only a few provinces that have roads and many buildings are undeveloped. Moreover the Mughal Empire has no six building slot cities, so no naval research can be done. And the Maratha confederacy is already at war. However the Mughals have the largest treasury and trade partners number is the highest jointly (with the Ottoman Empire). The army is weak and scattered. No starting technology.

Above all the most of the ministers are worthless and producing negative buffs for the Empire. People are very restless all over the Empire.

So as the first step the emperor Aurangzeb reshuffled his cabinet. Fortunately there were able candidates for each minister he removed and after the reshuffling, the unrest was settled immediately.

The next step is diplomacy. The Maratha confederacy is offered money for the peace, trade agreement and alliance. They counter demanded the whole money of the entire Mughal treasury. It was agreed, and then the whole money of the Maratha treasury was squeezed back by selling the military access. The same was done to Mysore and Persia, and their treasury was also squeezed. However the Portuguese and the Dutch were smart enough to refuse the offer. After completing the diplomatic actions, Mysore and Persia are the allies of the Mughal Empire and the Marathas are the new trade partners. The huge money (35000-36000 gold) was utilised for purchasing the starting technologies from the Prussians and the Ottoman Empire. The new trade relations were established with the 13 colonies, new Spain and Louisiana.

After that the Mughals concentrated on developing the economy, military and infrastructure, until they started expeditions.

ETW 2 mobile question

I have the Empire Total War II mod running on my Android.

So I started a campaign as Great Britain, and on the first turn, Scotland and the 13 colonies are separate countries/factions. However, as soon as I hit next turn, they are immediately given to me. Like a complete merge. Is this supposed to happen during this mod?

The rockets and the heavy mortar have very bad accuracy soo i dont like them.

The howitzers are mu favourite they are good for walls and aslo to bombard the enemy what you think or do?

Why is the Ottoman Empire AI actually braindead?

They play the game like they are AFK on their phone the entire time, even the Mughal Empire that doesn't develop shit until the 1750's eventually wakes up and starts to play the game. Why do the ottomans do jack shit with their land until either PL or the Marathas swallow them whole. They shouldn't be the sick man in this period.

Need advice on combat

I just bought the game yesterday and played about 10 hours already and its pretty fun for the most part but I struggle with the combat sometimes. From what I've seen and read a good strat is to group up 2-4 infantry in a line and have them advance cus the AI is pretty terrible at spreading out their infantry. When I do this though, the AI usually goes stupid mode and starts making weird plays and turns the battle into a mess. Can I fix this somehow or is that just how the game is?

Side Note: How can I wrap up wars quickly? I've had a few attempts at a long Sweden run and Russia always declares on me within a year which is fine. The problem is I can't wrap that war up fast enough and Denmark and Poland also declare while I'm at war with Russia.

I'm playing the game vanilla if that matters.

Austria expirience:

This turn literally took 20 minutes...

After a few turns and a literal hour of waiting, I was able to besiege Istanbul, which helped A LOT xD.

I hate their families, dogs, cats, cows, horses, and camels. I hate the way they look at my army. I hate the way they try to do something with a spam of all melee units in the 18th century. I hate them and I despise them.

I cant understand that after 17 years this still exist...

i’m having the most fun i’ve had on empire in a long time (savoyposting)

i’m using the empire 2 mod, and france blindsided me as savoy which i should’ve seen coming but i managed to completely miss it being a knucklehead.

so it’s 1785. france declares war and sends a full stack against my nothing garrison of savoyard soldiers. ofc its a defeat, and i lose my capitol region. however, i had made a deal for some technology for georgia with the united states, so i had georgia and sardinia still making me a little money.

then i check the maps. guess what? hyderabad is controlled by rebels. only issue is, i have to cross either british or maratha territory to get there. i ally with the maratha by giving them some tech, march on hyderabad, and conquer it.

suck my balls france. my savoyard empire will span the world seas and i will come back to my beloved turin and write my letters in french blood from that day forward.

Diplomacy

The diplomacy on TW Empire is something frustrating for me!

I just started playing the game yesterday and even for a day i have seen a lot of crazy things on how diplomacy works (or not works properly!!)

I thought on mobile version they fixed a lot of issues which had the pc version

I just liberated Hungary from Austria!

And immediately i went to do diplomatic work.

And they don't accept trade agreements with their liberators(me!!)Even if i give them unlimited military access on my lands for trade agreements as exchange.

I tried everything logical offer to them (apart from giving them land!)and i always take a negative answer (even if it says negotiable)

I freed them just now(!!!!)and i am nothing to them(!?)

They are my protectorate.HOW WE CANNOT HAVE TRADE AGREEMENTS?!

Note: i play it on easy mode because it's my first time with this game(plus i want the achievement badge for the easy campaign )So it's not easy on diplomacy? In what is it easy?(Really i want to know )

In a lot of things i see it's not easy and it's like medium difficulty or hard(if it's someone's first time with Total war)

It's my fault.I should have bought Napoleon maybe😤😮‍💨
