After defeating Georgia that captured Persia capital and later on Persia itself, my general there died so i hired other one and this dude been his entire life there and only fighting his fisrt battle at age 87 since the afghans are coming.
Been like 15 years since I saw this and made a happy connection, and last campaign came across it by chance and decided to share it with you.

Back to the the little Hessen experience of the other day:
In the summer of 1705, Amsterdam''s artillery fort was taken no problem by the first army of the Landgraviate of Hessen, then consisting of 8 line infantry regiments, 6 foot artillery regiments with 12-lbers and four generals (it's vh/vh so their inspiring nearby troops is vital to overcome AI morale bonuses) - and a light infantry regiment the tech for which Hessen starts with in the mobile port . So do they with all bayonet types, practically halving the barracks research line. Having built an extra back in Hessen and captured one in the Netherlands we now have three Colleges, competitive at this time even on vh/vh. We will have a modern Hessen Army.
With Amsterdam we gained a major settlement, her buildings unlocking new branches of the tech tree: a barracks, a gunsmith, an admiralty, and if course, with Rotterdam a gate to the high seas, we are no longer landlocked! Two new trade adding to the ones we had had with all our kand neighbours. But Hannover.
Hanniver came for us. They honoured their alliance to the Dutch Republic whwn we attacked the latter, and while GB and Austria signed oeace for cash&tech&trade, Hannover sent their invasion army instead.
But then again, in Hessen we always say: "Bayonets. We have dem. Dem not have dem."
We met Ketterer's army at Münster, with a consolidated corps of 4 Line infantry regiments, 3 12-lber batteries and two generals. We used integrated artillery to devastate enemy waves with chain shots. I-A-I-A-I-A-I line, generals behind, line infantry (without Fire by Rank yet) straight behind the guns. A wall of fire making our centre unapproachappble for enemy waves, they route due to heavy losses before they could get to our lines, even on vh/vh. And then, bayonets.
Without Square formation yet, both wings got reached by flanking cavalry. But then, bayonets, also the generals bodyguards double as heavy cav, relieving flanks if needed.
Now Cologne is sitting back, expecting an imminent Durch rebellion.
But the Republic and their empire is gone. Königin Marie is now building a new military power on its ruins.
Hessen is now defending what is ours.
Wasn't on guard for that, because honestly, who would be?
