My YTD on eToro so far

Small YTD update from my eToro portfolio: after a shaky start I’m now back in solid green territory, mainly driven by my largest position in NVIDIA and a mix of growth and quality names.

I’m running a fairly high‑beta, long‑term growth strategy, so I’m okay with some volatility as long as the overall trend stays positive.

How’s your YTD performance on eToro and what’s been your biggest winner so far?

EToro closed my account with funds on it without my consent!!!! Can’t get my money back support ghosted me !!!

All in title , a week ago I decided to start investing on eToro as I had been using the platform for years here and there with the demo account .

First everything went good even had very good opinion about the platform . I tried then to switch platforms because of high spreads not suiting my trading style , I then tried to move my funds to another trading platform .

Because of my lack of experience I transferred the funds directly to the IBAN of said Platform instead of moving it first to my normal bank account , eToro immediately decided to flag the transfers then 10 mins after that I received an automatic email confirming that my account was closed as requested which I NEVER did ,while the withdrawals never went trough .

After a two messages where the support said I don’t have any funds on my balance ( logically because the withdrawals were still pending and in examination ) I carefully explained the whole situation only to receive an automated message that my case was now solved and get ghosted by their support and my money nowhere to be seen .

After a week patiently waiting for an answer from eToro I looked for possible solutions and was looking about filling and official complain with BaFin as I am located in Germany , but before escalating further I wanted to give the subreddit support a chance and get my problem resolved ……..

eToro permanently blocked my account after I deposited €1,000. Customer support keeps giving contradictory answers. What should I do?

I'm posting here to find out whether anyone has experienced something similar with eToro and how it was resolved.

A friend referred me to eToro. I opened an account, deposited approximately €1,000, and invested the money.

A few days later, I requested a withdrawal. Shortly afterwards, my account was blocked.

Since then, I've contacted customer support multiple times, but I've received different answers from different agents:

One representative told me my balance would be returned to my original payment method within 5 business days. It has now been almost one month, and nothing has happened.

Another agent told me to check the messages in the eToro chat platform, even though I cannot access my account because it is blocked.

Another simply stated that my account has been permanently blocked and cannot be restored, without explaining what will happen to my funds.

At this point, I still don't know:

Why my account was blocked.

Whether my money will be returned.

When it will be returned.

Whether there is anything else I need to do.

The inconsistent responses from customer support are honestly more frustrating than the account restriction itself.

I'm considering filing a formal complaint with the relevant financial authorities, but before doing so I'd like to know whether others have gone through the same situation.

Has anyone experienced a permanent account restriction with eToro? Did you eventually recover your funds? How long did it take? Were you given a proper explanation?

I'm only looking for honest experiences and advice. Thanks in advance.

Source of Funds

Anyone have experience providing this for etoro? The way it's worded it looks like you could provide every document you own in order to satisfy it, wondering if anyone knows the tldr version on what they actually need:

"2) Source of Funds/Wealth documentation, showing consistent income accumulation, to help justify your deposits and match your annual income and liquid assets as declared in your Economic Profile derived from Salary: [My LLC]"

API broken?

Is anyone else having problems with the API? Some calls are no longer working, such as v1/balances. This started a few days ago.

You can’t type „etoro“ in the login fields in the app. Guess I’m not logging in today.

Continuing to outperform the market multiple years in a row

Hey guys, been following this sub for a while and finally decided to share mine.
I run a high-conviction, long-term AI infrastructure and semiconductor-focused portfolio on eToro.
My track record so far:
• Outperformed both the Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500 for three consecutive years:
• 2023: +93.33%
• 2024: +35.98%
• 2025: +27.93%
• 2026 YTD: +47.80%
I accept the higher volatility that comes with this approach because I believe this sector has strong tailwinds ahead.
My username on eToro is @Josh81 if anyone wants to check it out. This is not a self promotion post just Curious what you think of this kind of allocation, or if anyone else is running a similar theme.

Withdrawals on eToro: what actually affects the timeline (and why it's not always instant)

Withdrawal times are one of the most common questions I see here, and it's worth explaining properly because there are several moving parts involved.

When you submit a withdrawal request, eToro processes it within up to 2 business days and sends a confirmation email once done. From there, how quickly funds arrive depends on your payment method:

  • eToro Money: instant once processed, funds should appear shortly after
  • E-wallets (PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Trustly): 1–2 business days
  • Credit/debit card or bank transfer: up to 10 business days

A few things that affect timing:

Account verification — withdrawals can only be processed on fully verified accounts. This is a regulatory requirement across all regulated financial platforms, not an arbitrary hurdle. Platforms operating under regulators like the FCA and CySEC are required to verify user identity as part of anti-money laundering frameworks and investor protection schemes.

Security checks — in some cases additional checks are required before a withdrawal is processed, particularly for larger amounts or unusual activity. This is standard practice across regulated financial entities and exists to protect users.

Business days only — processing happens Monday to Friday. Weekend and public holiday requests move to the next business day, with an 11:00 AM EET cutoff for same-day processing.

Pending orders — if you have open pending orders, those funds are reserved and won't be included in your available balance until the order fills or is cancelled.

The $5 withdrawal fee applies per transaction, so if you're planning multiple withdrawals it's worth batching them where possible.

If your withdrawal is exceeding the established processing times, a ticket should be raised with customer service so they'll be able to look into it and guide you on next steps.

If there are aspects of the withdrawal process that still need clarifying, drop them in the comments! And if there's enough to cover, happy to do a follow-up post on it.

eToro Nailed It With the Best Investing Calendar on Earth

https://www.etoro.com/my/events

This is hands down the best investing event calendar I've used.

Unlike most calendars that bombard you with every stock on the market, eToro automatically filters events for stocks in your portfolio and watchlist.

It also combines earnings reports, dividends, CPI releases, jobs data, Federal Reserve announcements, and other major market moving events in one clean, intuitive view.

No noise. No endless filtering. Just the events that actually matter to your investments.

Genuinely blown away by how useful and well designed this feature is.

Short selling via eToro API - June 2026

I’ve been building a custom Python/Flask webhook bridge to route strategy alerts from TradingView directly into eToro using their official Public Developer API (https://public-api.etoro.com).

Buys (Long positions) are working flawlessly. However whenever my script tries to initiate a Short (Sell) position, the eToro API gateway immediately rejects the order with a hard 400 Bad Request validation error:

"message": "Validation failed:
-- Transaction: Sell and buyToCover transactions are not supported in the current implementation. Severity: Error"

My account is fully cleared for CFD trading and I can open short positions manually via the eToro Web UI without any issues. The web interface (trade-api.etoro.com) handles a short perfectly, executing an underlying contract with a clean schema: "IsBuy": false, "OrderType": 17etc.

0 -Is this a permanent retail API restriction?
1 -Has anyone heard anything regarding an API roadmap?
2 -Workarounds not involving migration of the whole thing over to a headless browser automation stack?

PS: I also happen to have an account with Interactive Brokers. Thanks to IBKR's native TradingView integration both execution triggers and feedback loops function flawlessly on their platform once the trading rights are released.

Tool that warns you when a specific indicator is reached

As the title says, I built a simple tool for myself that sends me a text message (on Telegram) whenever a specific set of trading indicators is triggered.

It's been surprisingly helpful because I no longer have to constantly monitor charts and indicators throughout the day (even if I still struggle to be profitable, lol).

I'm wondering whether this is something other traders would find useful as well. The idea would be to offer custom alerts based on each user's preferred indicators and conditions.

Please let me know your opinion!
