Jack of Blades mask

This just arrived today! Seen some people recently posting their own, I’m not that talented so this was bought but I love it 😁

Were the urban places we visited in Fable all there was, or should not a continent of such appearant great size as Albion have more places?

We know Fable 1 takes place in a sort of middling age between the fall of the Old Kingdom, some high medieval age after it and then a recession we find ourselves in, where there is no centralized government or monarchy, and the land seems dominated by rural living.

But the map of the place makes you feel like there are many places we do not see in-between game locations (for natural reasons of course).

I just imagine a few more cities like Bowerstone or large townships to exist without needing to go to Samarkand.

What would your image and name be as a Hero of the guild?

This is where I wish I was an artist and could do an OC for my own.

I love lions, but I don't wanna be a rip off of Thunder, otherwise a lion knight of strength would be awesome with proficiency for fire spells. Silver armour with lion or eagle theme, greatsword and a small crossbow strapped on my lower back for back up.

I'd go by the name "Solar".

NEVER played Fable

So lately the social media's algoritem is showing me lots of Fable content and honestly
I wanna give it a shot.
I am really into open world games and such so I'm sure I'll have a great time
Would love to get some recc on how to start my Fable journey..

A little afraid that the first one's graphic will be too out-dated for me.

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: I'm a PC player

Which are the most interesting books you can find in game?

I really like lore and I like to read through any of the books I find. I wondered if anyone else does that and which are their favourites? Can be from any game, but I mainly know the second.

Also, to add on another question, is there anyone around who could do a physical copy of any of the in game books or does anyone have an idea where to look into that? I'm always searching for fable things to collect and it's difficult, but it would be cool to be able to actually pick up and read the books from the game and have them on my display shelf

What was this guy's problem?

I remember loving Thunder's armour as a child and still do but the man was insufferable. From day one he berates and mocks us and is so insecure about our every accomplishment, having this transparent need to be the bestest and greatest. I'm an orphan who had his village slaughtered before his eyes man, why are you trying to one-up me? He goes to the length that he reprimands kids for having us as their favorite Hero. And whether we spare or kill Whisper he has a grudge big enough to fight us.

Whisper for that matter was quite alike her brother. The first and only time she refers to us as anything but "farmboy" is when we defeat her at the Arena and she begs for her life and invokes our "friendship", but she was little better than Thunder. She acted superior to us all our childhood and rookie-hero days and like we barely belonged in the Guild and now that you fear me, now it's "hero" is it?

demo critique

I liked the demo quite a bit, i see no point in praising the good stuff, no doubt it's been praised more than enough here.

All my criticism comes down to the animation work.

1: lip sync animation need work. I feel everyone who watched it pointed it out.

2: No door-opening animation. Playing back, this really feels like an alpha build -instead of a game that's 7 months away - the way the door magically opens for him. hope they fix it.

3: slightly stiff character animation. This wasn't bad, I just feel it needs a bit more variation, all characters stand and move around stiff while they talk to you. Maybe introducing a few more hand gestures, swaying etc

4: Over-used hand stretch animation. If I'm correct, the main character did this exact animation more than 5 times in this demo. I hope they add some variation.

I'm not sure if 6-7 months is enough to add a lot more animation work, but I hope so

I have figured out how to modify the game's actual shaders in Fable 3

Made the sky a rainbow :)

Part of an ongoing side project I have where I'm experimenting with adding in modern shaders (an unserious project for fun), as I love Fable 3 and want to give the game some love.

This modify's the game's actual shader files, so it does not require injecting into any graphical api. I'm using DXVK myself, as d3d9 has some issues on my pc. The tooling I made runs on hopes and dreams, and I'm decompiling the shaders with HlslDecompiler (which is far from perfect), recompiling with x86 fxc.exe.. but it works!

Fixed an original xbox and this was inside.

Starting to learn how to fix electronics, my first success was an original crystal xbox and when I fired it up I was pleasantly surprised to see fable!

Fable 3: Kidnapped! - the real problem

When everyone talks about Fable 3 they always talk about the Sanctuary or Road to Rule or what have you but they never discuss the REAL issue, the side quest "Kidnapped!"

In this quest, your childhood best friend/lover (Elliot or Elise), if spared during the intro quest, appears already engaged to another and kidnapped by bandits. You must rescue them, and talk about the trauma that was caused by the intro. They tell you they found love and healing through this homeless shelter owner. Then they ask if there's any chance for the two of you or should they stay with their new fling.

The issue? Canonically, the whole of the first act of Fable 3 only takes 1 year. This quest becomes available as soon as you meet the Bowerstone Resistance. Which means this jerk got over us and engaged to someone else in just a couple of months!

For someone that claims we are the love of their life they were pretty willing to replace us!

Anyone else think this timeline is sus?!

Elliot doesn't deserve the nicely furnished house I bought him directly across the street from his ex fiances shelter.

>!PS. This post was intended to be a humorous over exaggeration of something that mildly annoyed me as a romance in RPGs lover. Please do not take this too seriously!<

Finally beat the big boss

Just completed Anniversary. Haven't played in 20 years since I first beat Jack in the original on Xbox.

What a trip.

Played as a Slayer class throughout, so stats are as max as they can be (besides Guile, I have no use for).

I wasn't supposed to be evil, just the way things turned out...

How much am i missing out on starting with Fable 3?

I never played any of the Fable games. And long story short, I don't have a console to play the second part on. As far as i understand it its not available on PC in any way. Which kind of discourages me from trying Fable Anniversary as well, as the continuity will be broken anyway due to the inability ot play Fable 2. So if I start with Fable 3, am I missing a lot from not playing the previous games?

Never played Fable

Weirdly, I have never played Fable, but the trailers have sold me and I have preordered, so the first time I'll be playing is when the new one drops. Any lore I should know, or an older version I should play in the meantime? Or likely to be better to just immerse in it when it comes?

A little gif I made of the music box, hope you like heroes 🩷

Also, do we think there will be any exclusives at Gamescon? I was so desperate to go, but I'm not well enough, I really don't want to miss out as the Fable franchise are my all-time favourite games!
