picked these up last weekend. Pure Blue Japan tea core with brown weft in their 019 fit.

sizing was a little wild on these, as 34s measure in at 35 inches and their 36 measure in at 38”. I opted for the larger size and ran them in a hot wash, and a tumble dry on high heat. got the perfect amount of shrinkage (36.5” waist). make sure to turn inside-out, and if possible stuff the legs for the dry cycle with some other clothes to prevent hard creases.

Looking forward to breaking these in. The yarn core will expose over time and the fades will be a copper brown colour.

Got this on release wore it almost daily until it was too hot. Mid may in my area. Washed it probably 5-7 times cold with woolite dark and air dried size xl. I’m 6’ about 225lbs.

close to the finish line for the indigo invitational. need some opinions or feedback or whatever idk. i already washed them just to see what the finished jean will look like. i did two oxiclean soaks. both 1 hour then a light scrub with a soft bristled brush. then after the second soak i washed with detergent and also a light scrub to get the nasty oxiclean smell out. this is how they turned out. for the indigo invitational you can use a bit of bleach when washing. i’m wondering if i should use some when washing or not. if it would help make the fades pop even more than right now. i’ve already used bleach in the wash for another pair of jeans and they did make the fades pop. they weren’t crazy fades but they did bring them out a bit. i’m not asking for info on if using bleach is good or not. i don’t really care. i just want some other opinions or if using a bit of bleach when i wash would help make them pop some more than right now. i still have like 2 weeks left before the end and im still going to wear them and will probably wash again.

Iron Heart 777 21oz… worn on and off since the new year… what to do next

Hey yall, first post and first time buyer of selvedge/ raw denim. Made my first purchase the other day (Naked and Famous: Strong Guy - Blue Haze), but while researching came across the black double knee and these Brown Bear Selvage Denim from Brave star.

Just wanted to know people’s opinions and experiences with non indigo/ traditional blue raw denim. Really couldn’t find great pics of this brown denim really worn and faded. Love to see people’s fades on this specific black pair and cool black denim fades.

Really just want to know if I should pull the rigger on the brown over the black double knee.

Ive put in 93 wears with an average of 11 hours each wear. In the super guy fit, hurts my nards but the fades are worth it. No washes and some small repairs. Thinking im gonna either wash after another month or so or go for a no wash but not too sure.

Also side note but ive been very meticulous charting my wears, made a spread sheet so i can have an accurate average of hours, total hours, amount of days from the total hours. Only on this pair though.

Been a good bit since I last posted so figured I’d give an update on the wranglers

Been a great pair of jeans especially for the price super quick faders which I’m happy with although much lighter than my regular 13mwzs so they have ripped rather prematurely on the back from holding my phone. Starting to get a hole on the front from my buckle rubbing against it haven’t seen that on any of my other pairs.

Once these jeans got broken in they’re very much like wearing sweatpants I prefer all the little upgrades over the regular jeans but they loose their color incredibly fast the back, knees and hems have lost pretty much all blue and some of the whiskers are getting pretty light. Hopefully the whiskers get a bit stronger and especially hope to see some more definition on the honeycombs but not sure how possible that is going to be as I’ve decided to wash more frequently. about 1-2 times a month now although a few times this week as milking cows wasn’t the best thing to wear these for haha
