Sam Raimi as director for a Masters of Universe film

I've always had this question ever since I saw Army of Darkness (1992): Why has no one ever called up Sam Raimi to direct a Masters of the Universe film? To me, at least, Army of Darkness showed me that Raimi could definitely nail the tone that a Masters of the Universe movie needs. Furthermore, after viewing the other films from his filmography, I just feel like it was missed opportunity that no one ever approached Raimi to direct a Masters of the Universe film.

An Inspired Choice For DCU DEADSHOT

DEADSHOT: Gabriel Leone ( 33, The Secret Agent, $'10)

hes an excellent actor, not really been sugested for the role but i think he would deliver a more serious but with a hint of fun take, something distinctly unique from will smith.

i think he had an excellent look for the character & is very close to how i imagined him, i personally wanted someone a bit more unknown to English speaking audiences who was also likely to be shorter than the popular Deathstroke Fan cast's.

he has a stunt background particularly in Driving stunts & he actually began to Learn BJJ with Wagner Moura ( ELITE SQUAD.)

he's very critically acclaimed in Brazil & Has done work in an Oscar nominated film " The Secret Agent" with Wagner Moura 2025.

One of those “Hear me out” type fancasts

I truly think his voice & stoic nature would lend well to Darkseid, and assuming it would be a motion capture performance I think they could pull it off and make him look cool.

The Dark Knight Returns fancast

Ron Perlman as Batman

Tom Cruise as Joker

I was watching Sons of Anarchy, and I got to the scene where Ron's character makes a threat during a vote scene and it just gave me older Batman vibes. apparently he voiced Batman & Deathstroke before but honestly I just prefer his normal voice of his Batman's.

He's huge, has an exotic skull, gigantic teeth and is just talented and cold. for some reason his voice sounds fitting for a classical transatlantic accent on an older Batman. just what Adam West went for with his TDKR narration. perfect for this role.

Tom on the other hand is creepy af he'll do good

James Gunn if he locked in:

I’m a bit tired of scarred and deformed iterations of the Joker in live action. This casting would never happen in the mainline DCU, but I think Johnny Knoxville would crush as a more traditional, tux-laden Prince of Crime in a one-off Elseworlds film.

THE EXPENDABLES (90s PREQUEL MOVIE)

Codename: Blood Brothers

The Old Team

Sylvester Stallone - Barney Ross (Leader of the Expendables)

Mel Gibson - Conrad Stonebanks (Cofounder of the Expendables. He would be the "main villain" of sorts as he betrayed them all and was the reason the original team died, making him a dangerous foe.)

Wesley Snipes - Doc (Army medic and another original Expendable.)

Kurt Russell - Jack Hammer (Hammer was mentioned by Doc in EX3)

Carl Weathers - Max Woodsman (Woodsman was mentioned by Doc in EX3)

----------------------------------------------
New Members

Arnold Schwarzenegger - Trent "Trench" Mauser (Barney's "best worst friend" who used to "serve on the same team" with him. This could be the team.)

Kelsey Grammer — Bonaparte (Appeared in EX3 as an "old friend" of Barney's, a recruiter, and former Expendable. He could "know some guys" to help build this large team.)

Chuck Norris - Booker (Another old friend of Barney's. This film could show how they lost the team which led to Booker going into "Lone Wolf" mode.)

Patrick Swayze

Kevin Costner

Mickey Rourke - Tool ((From the first film, he's been through a lot, but he was still one of the flock.)

Nick Nolte

Clint Eastwood - (I feel he could play an almost father-figure type of role to Barney. Maybe it's his old commanding officer now riding with him, then something happens and he "passes the torch" of leadership to Barney.)

Christopher Reeves

Billy Dee Williams

Robert De Niro

Michael Douglas

Gary Busey

Tom Selleck

Jackie Chan

Michael Clarke Duncan

Nicolas Cage

———————————————

This prequel would see origins the original Expendables team before the 2010 team came along, somewhere in the late 80s/early 90s.

In Expendables 3, Doc said that they "started out with five" and worked their way up to 22." These are actors who i believe would've made up that team if a movie had been made in the late 80/early 90s.
