I wrote it when I was a kid. The fic was about Macy excited for her eventual coronation and becoming queen of Fairyland but much to her shock, her parents announce that Lue will become the next queen instead. Macy doesn't understand because Lue is the eighth daughter and should technically be last in line for the throne. Macy still isn't given an answer. It turns out that it's because Macy and most of her sisters were all adopted, there was a rule in the kingdom that adopted children had no claim to the throne so Lue was the only one who could take over as the only biological child. I think it was kinda dumb but then again that's to be expected as I was a kid back then. It's a fantasy kingdom so I guess it could have weird rules like that but it doesn't make much sense even still. Plus couldn't Owen and Snowflake (Yeah, that's their names.) change the rule so their eldest daughter can become queen? I don't think I ever explained why adopted children of a royal family can't take over! They're the current king and queen so they very much have the authority to change the rules. I'm planning on rewriting this but I don't know how Macy could be denied the throne. It couldn't be that she's considered a weak link because she's already been established to have great leadership skills. She's very smart, empathic, and is a skilled magic user.

Alright, short post: I guess I'm an angst writer by heart since I am trying to write a fluff chapter for some time now and it's not coming naturally. I understand you just have to write it from a perspective of "there is no problem of drama this time etc. let your characters just interact in a comfortable way". However.... Fanfic FLUFF authors, what helps you regarding dialogue, friendship fluff etc? Thank you so much!!

But here is the plot it’s inspired by end of watch by killer0ntheroad it revolves around Gary who has not been the best state mentally after the events z2 he’s been going to dr fuzzby for therapy he’s gone full emo complete with hoodie hasn’t told his family the whole story of what happened after he was smuggled into zootopia and even jumps whenever someone says partner his parents think it’s because he hasn’t found anyone to settle down with which results in Gary coming out of the closet to them his parents are overly supportive and get him set up on dating app he goes on a date with a male lizard they head back to the lizards apartment things are heating up until the lizard finds out that Gary has two ding a lings ( which snakes apparently have ) and they break up as Gary is heading home upset since he was about to mate with someone for the first time he sees nick and Judy in their police car and decides to follow them in the hopes of getting some relationship advice nick and Judy go to a warehouse to arrest someone however the situation goes horribly wrong and ends with the warehouse going up in flames and Judy presumed dead at the same time all of this is happening in person pawbert after enduring another day of torment finally snaps and attacks his father which results in a person fight and he ends up accidentally kills his own father resulting in pawbert getting sentenced to death meanwhile Gary after witnessing Judy’s “death” enters a full existential crisis as he realizes that life is short things only get worse when on the day of Judy’s funeral Gary’s monthly shed starts resulting in him being unable to go to the funeral as he’s watching tv he sees a news report about pawberts upcoming execution not wanting pawbert to die he brakes pawbert out of jail and they start a journey of self discovery they also get caught up in one of nibbles conspiracy’s as she plans to sneak into a oasis where the elites of the city gather every year for a encampment that includes a ceremony where they burn a effigy in front of a 40 foot crow statue ( ie like bohemian grove) finnick also gets involved as they use him as their driver to the oasis they also discover that Judy isn’t really dead her death was faked by the elites so that they could use her in their wicker man style sacrifice for harvest so now it’s pawbert Gary nibbles and finnick trying to save Judy from the elites all while nick is going full John wick on the criminals who he thinks were the ones responsible not realizing that elites are actually responsible

I was writing a fan fic a while back about the Loud house and I know that most of them are weird and nasty but mine isn't whatsoever but I was thinking of going back and finishing it but I have struggled for motivation. Any advice?

Writing on a computer? Back it up on a USB, then back it up in a cloud service.

Writing it on your phone using Google Docs? Download a copy. Keep a copy downloaded on your phone, then throw one onto a USB drive.

Feeling fancy or don't like the idea of your work being on the cloud? Print it out. Even if the text is tiny to save on paper, it will be worth it. Don't have a printer? Go to your local library, it will cost some money, but it's worth it (my research says about 10-15 cents per page.)

I just lost a week's worth of my fanfic. I was incredibly lucky though, I backed up my work every weekend, and a bad personal week had me writing only a little. I have never lost any of my writing prior to this, but even just that lost little bit was devastating. I was full ugly crying last night.

For those who already read chapter one, thank you so much! It means a lot and really encourages me every time I see the number of hits, kudos, and bookmarks go up! Chapters one and two are good, but chapter three is when it starts getting REALLY good, and that drops Monday so please stay tuned!

ok so i’ve been brainstorming a LONG Shane/Ilya fic (like 100-120 chapters long, it’s insane i know) and need to know if this is worth the commitment before i lose my mind outlining it
premise: roommates AU, rivalry fully intact because obviously they can’t just get along even off the ice. tension is THERE from day one, they’re both painfully aware of it, but neither of them can just say it out loud bc internalized homophobia is doing its absolute worst to both of them. so instead of anything productive happening they just bicker, avoid eye contact, “accidentally” touch and then panic about it, the whole thing. classic idiots to lovers except the idiocy is load-bearing and lasts for like 80 chapters
basically all the “i hate you / i also maybe want to kiss you and also i’m terrified” energy from the book but stretched out into an excruciatingly slow burn with a roommates setup instead of the team dynamic would yall actually read something like this?? do you like fics where the internalized homophobia isn’t just a one-off angst chapter but an actual ongoing thing they have to work through? any tropes you’re desperate to see (or please god don’t include) in something this long?

Just wanted to share the beginning of a fic im jotting down while at work 😅 RookxEmmerich

Before the Age of Man---

A sharp intake of breath, the sucking on ones teeth followed by the familiar furious scratching of a quill's nib on aged parchment filled the study. Emmerich peered above the autonecrography tome in his hand, lips persed as another crumpled sheet sailed across the room and into the fireplace. The fire crackled with acceptance.

The older mage sighed and closed his book. "Rook, darling. There's something to be said about letting the dead rest." The smaller elven man stiffened, hunching over his small desk, jabbing his quill into the inkwell. Blackened drops bled onto fresh parchment. "No, I-I want---I have to---for Varric, I gotta do this." The metal nib shone brightly in the firelight as it trembled above the fresh sheet before Rook tossed the quill down and shoved away the desk, broad shoulders slumping. "Why...why is this so hard?" He mumbled quietly. "He always made it look so easy, damn him."

Emmerich stood, unfolding his long limbs and crossed the room, placing warm hands on Rook's shoulders from behind, giving a gentle yet firm squeeze. They stayed there in silence staring into the fireplace. Rook, fiddling with an old arrowhead in his right hand, chewing absentlymindedly on his already chapped lip. Emmerich, lost in memories from the past two years. He broke the silence first.

"What would Varric tell you now, dear? What would he say?"

The arrowhead stopped twirling between his fingers, the elf scoffing. "He'd say, 'Look at all the shit that's happened to ya. You gonna let a few little words lay ya low?'"

"Rook." Emmerich's voice dropped ever so slightly with another squeeze of his slender hands. The elf tore his eyes away from the fireplace and sighed. The professor leaned down, placing a soft gentle kiss on top of his companion's wayward locks. "I...may not have known the man personally but I have heard of him. And I imagine that he would have a great deal more to say to the young man he took under his wing."

Another heavy sigh. "This your way of telling me to quit 'mauldlin'?" Rook looked up at the older gentleman with a small wry smile and softened eyes. Emmerich's own eyes crinkled at the edges. An old spark of rebellion was glinting in those amber depths. Rook straightened and picked up his pen, reloading it with ink. His hand was firm and steady as he etched the letters. "You're right, love," he began, "He would get this look in his eye and say..."

Hi!! I wanted to talk about my process as a blind person who enjoys fandom content.
A lot of people ask “Well.. how do you do this…” And first of all. I use a screen reader. It lets me use my phone just like how you do but it narrates everything.
Getting that out of the way. I enjoy fandoms just like everyone else! Except like… no fanart and mostly fanfics! I roleplay too but that’s not important…
I’m mostly a mcyt fan so I’ll watch vods, I’ll watch videos, I’ll watch video essays. I’ll ask friends, I’ll google, I’ll read fanfics. My current obsession is emerald duo <3 <3
I’ve taken writing as an interest since I can’t draw anymore. This has led to me being fast with my writing and being able to write multiple thousand of words in a day or two. I’ll use google docs and then post onto ao3. I basically do it just like anyone else does. This is mostly just to make people aware that blind people exist too and they love the same things that you do.
