Well. It happened. I got my first “is this AI” accusation because of “weird plot holes” and “deep meaning in random sentences.”
And I just have to be like, oh no, see... I have a full time job and a toddler and I am squeaking by, writing between 8 PM and 12 AM. I promise you. If there’s plot holes, I just fucked it up. And I’m a dramatic bitch. That’s just who I am. T_T
Painting logic: Paint all of my black-primed bikes blue-gray before I apply a black wash. … To make them black. Again.

This was a fun little project. Also, the mine was my favorite part of the kit. It’s a little sad that it doesn’t really have play use anymore as far as I’m aware.
Still. I painted them in the darker green like my infiltrators, and I enjoyed working on them.
Practicing taking better pictures of my army units as I finish them. Been collecting and painting for a little over a year now. Still have my space marine half of an Armageddon box to do, a redemptor dreadnought, two squads of Ravenwing Black Knights, and two Ravenwing Command Squads. I also have some Inner Circle Companions coming.
All in all, I’m pretty proud of my collection so far. Now I need to buckle down and get some games under my belt. Something more than just a combat patrol.
Really pleased with how he turned out, but his sword arm was a nightmare. I learned a lot though!
So poor Azrael. My husband bought him shortly after we bought the combat patrol last June, but he’s just sat, built and waiting ever since. I primed him about six months ago.
I’m happy with this though. I need one more good pass of highlights, I think, before I can call him ready for varnishing, and I need to touch up the banner slightly.
Used my intercessors from the Armageddon box and my leftover pieces from my infiltrators box. I now have 10 infiltrators and 10 incursors from the same kit thanks to my spare intercessors.
These were really fun to do. I leaned into the knives thing pretty hard just to give them some character.
Whew. A year so far of work, but I think I have a system down on building/painting, so it goes much faster these days. Still have bikes to do, and I still have some other units to build (the space marine half of the Armageddon box, namely).
I also still really want some ICC. So that’s all on my list. For now though, I think this is finally starting to feel like an actual army to me? It’s taken a while to get myself there mentally, but seeing it like this… I’ve enjoyed the hell out of this past year, working on this.
Really pleased with these. I think the weapon scorch effects turned out really nice. Just gotta get them based and varnished. Then they can join all of their brothers.
For comparison, I included some shots with my Gravis Captain. He was my first character mini that I painted about a year ago.
So my husband decided that with 11th, he wants an Ork army, which really boils down to he picked up the Armageddon box for us. I’m going to build and paint the marine half as Dark Angels, but I was wondering…
I’ve got these incursor bits left over from my box of infiltrators, which I built as 2 squads of infiltrators. I’m thinking of converting the Armageddon intercessors into incursors. Is that a bad idea? Will they look dumb since they’ll be in the wrong armor? I painted my infiltrators darker than my usual greenwing, so I was thinking that so long as I did that, most people probably won’t even look too closely at them.
Well. I did it. I got all ten of these bad boys painted. And have already needed to pin four of the ten maces, so I guess I have the next six to look forward to soon. I do like how they turned out though. Color coded them with their teleport homers so I don’t have to keep track of which is which.
The lettering was fun though!
Now I’m just stuck waiting for the weather to let me varnish everything. I have about 27 models sitting in my “to be varnished” tray. 😂
The main armies I play against feature a lot of deep strike forces, so uh. Here’s my solution. Had a lot of fun with these. Last two pictures have an intercessor for comparison, since I painted these guys much darker than my usual DA green.
Brothers, can I get some feedback on this before I go through and paint all ten of these little monsters? I was planning on doing some shields red (as in the last picture), some shields green, but here’s my first completed unit. I was a little clumsy on a few points (like the vertical band on the helmet) but I think I can correct that.
I think I like it, but some feedback would be appreciated.
I needed something that would pop against my dark brown bases, but I also wanted something that would stand out in my sea of green and bone. I think I like this shade of red!
So he’s just been sitting here, almost built for nearly a year, floating around my hobby room. I finally buckled down and magnetized his heads and got most of him painted. Just need to finish basing and paint up the Watchers.
I’m a bit torn on how to paint the watchers though. I think burgundy is kind of standard, but I’m thinking maybe a dark rich brown? They might look too much like Jawas then though, plus, my DA basing is mostly stirland mud. I don’t want them to blend too much.
Meh. I don’t know. This is part of why I waited so long to paint him. Indecisive!
