Was going with a Deathwing Companion theme to make the risen captain.​

Every so often in this sub someone will ask if it's lore accurate to paint Dark Angels veterans in power armour in Deathwing colours. Someone will usually come along and say that Dark Angels lore says that all members of the Deathwing wear terminator armour. Having played since 1st edition that never sat right with me and I've finally found photo evidence of power armour Deathwing marines from way back in the day.

These images come from White Dwarf 129, which came out in September 1990. So next time someone says that Dark Angels lore used to be that all members of the Deathwing wear terminator armour, please show them these images.

Of course anyone can paint their minis however they want. This post is just here to contribute to discussion about GW lore.

My local escalation league needed more chaos players, going to run my DA army as Fallen, lead by this guy. Army will be counts-as Space Marines (this guy counts-as Lion).

Wings came from the Reikenor Age of Sigmar kit.

This is by far the largest model I’ve painted. It had many challenges, but I am glad it’s ready for the table top.

I noticed that the Assault intercessor sergeant in the blood ravens trailer is wearing a second company marking on his shoulder-pad. My first question is basically, if it is standard for second-company marines to maintain second-company heraldry even when taking part in standard greenwing companies? And my second is, are there actually any greenwing marines in the ravenwing? From what I understood the ravenwing purely consists of bikers and aircraft. Thank you if anybody can answer this!

Unfortunately I messed up

I couldn't get the original pose I wanted to work so I tried to pivot, but I had maimed the model too much. Even with replacement pieces and trying to fill gaps the cuts and clips I have made are too noticeable...

The cape and the rock worked well, if I didn't try to force the double handed sword pose it would be fine. I'll probably pick up another Azrael and Armageddon Captain and try again at some point. Just give him the cape and rock, but keep his default pose.

Kitbashed an apothecary out of the ancient in the Armageddon box. Includes an arm from the white scars sprue, and a deathwatch helmet... but the real MVP is the ravenwing black riders coming with apothecary bits.

I'll fix up some of the rougher cuts once the glue is dried with some greenstuff later, but I wanted to share!
