Deathwing Knights were some of the first things I painted. In attempt to finish the first box I bought, the Inner Circle set, I tried to come back and see if I'd improved at all.
Happy with how these looking now but hopefully managed to keep the feel and look of the original ones i painted.
Only the lion left to do from the box now, though still not a clue how to tackle him.
Still trying to work out how to photograph the full squad at once.
Still trying to decide which company to make the captain. I’m pretty pleased with how the librarian is coming along, too. For the glowing inscription armor effect: I did a base coat of AP’s Ultramarine Blue air paint through the air brush, then panel lined the inscriptions with white ink, then shot it all over with AP Magic Blue speedpaint from the airbrush.
Last piece to get my 1000p army ready for the first game
Hello brothers, let me tell you about what happened today.
Gege is the owner of my LGS, and today he wanted to clean up his pile of boxes he had in the back (we all know what a bore it is to clean up every bit off the sprue once we're done building a model. That's what he was doing).
A friend of mine let me in on a little secret: Back in the day Gege had a lot, and I mean a LOT of bikes, though he had sold them.
Since he was cleaning in the back I asked him if he had any ravenwing bikes (he's an ultramarine player, so he doesn't really care about it).
Of course I was willing to pay, he told me he would take a look one of these days when he had some time to kill.
So I started playing with my friend.
After a while Gege taps me on the shoulder and he hands me this HUGE pile of ravenwing bikes.
That was quick, wasn't it?
I was already happy as is, but then when I asked him "How much?" He just waved it off and said:
"Nah, take it. I'm cleaning up after all"
I just love that man.
He has helped me so much. He helped me start my army and he helped me at some of my lowest points in life (In the span of two months I lost 2 dogs and trust me, veterinarians aren't cheap. Even then, when I needed something he simply said "Take it. You'll pay me later").
So, that's pretty much it. I just wanted to share this wholesome story. If you will, leave a little cheers for this wonderful man!
Too much detail. Also found it really difficult to get black somewhat interesting. This model almost gave me burnout. Anyone have a recipe for ravenwing black?
I had this neat idea concocted from the Azrael Novel by Gav Thorpe. The scene depicts Azrael's rise/trial to become the Supreme Grand Master, in which he is questioned and judged by three watchers. I thought it be cool to have three watchers with him on base instead of one.
I was given an Ezekiel and was wondering about tips on painting metal models
Asmodai
Azrael
Belial
Ezekiel
Lazarus
Lion El'Jhonson
Samael
All that sounds epic if you just go deploying ur units like: This is Azrael's unit, and this is Belial's unit (sounds better in Spanish, don't ask me why)
But the only viable ones are Azy, Sammy and some people don't even play with Mr. Johnson.
Trying to see if you use any of our other epic heroes and in what units.
Belial is cheap, but can't carry enhancements, his rule swings too hard and I would like to set him up with DWK but DWK wants to go against vehicles.
Asmodai gives re-rolls hits but no +1 to wound, and, for now we have oath, and gives CP but Azy already gives CP.
Ezekiel +1 attacks on melee, but doesn't give invul to the unit like a regular librarian.
Lazarus honestly, like Ezekiel sounds good with some bladeguard, but for what I want to use bladeguard?
I’ll maybe paint Asmodai or Belial next. The dark angels heroes just has the most aura
I want to add contrast but keep the grimdark/realistic feel, any help is appreciated 😁
I have had so much fun working on this mini.
Any C&C is always welcome!
Hello cousins, I’ve recently decided to start my own homebrew under the Dark Angels or Black Templars codex as it fits my homebrews theme.
I want to play a lot with dreadnoughts, terminator spam, or with tanks such as the repulsive executioner, but i’m unsure if there are any good lists surrounding them or methods of playing.
I know rule of cool and I’ll create my own list of them anyway, but any tips/tricks on how to utilize them or a good list would be greatly appreciated
I have been a big fan of Warhammer lore and I wanted to give this hobby a shot, a buddy of mine came across a big tub of Warhammer stuff that he found in a storage unit that he bought. Sold it to me for 200 bucks. It came with a bunch of paints, an air brush, a compressor for the air brush and some Dark Angels.
Found an AliExpress shop that does the same stamping plates as the goblin hobbies ones, but custom design.
You can use chatgpt to design you a plate to the size required by the manufacturer and you can then ask It to generate the EPS file, which the manufacturer uses to make the plate. They're 2 for £18 but you can only get the same one twice (which is somewhat a shame) but it's still a bargain.
I'll post in here when they arrive as to how good they are. I only need one, if there's someone who could potentially want the other do feel free to send me a message!
If it works well I'll be getting another for my ork army.
Sammael kitbash. He’s too good to not take on the table right now but I refuse to paint the old kit. Not my best work but acceptable.
