SmiteWorks has acquired substantially all assets used in the Eldritch Foundry business, bringing Eldritch Foundry and its customizable 3D character creator and extensive asset library into the Fantasy Grounds ecosystem.

Players can already use Eldritch Foundry creations as portraits, top-down tokens, and 2.5D avatars in Fantasy Grounds. Our longer-term roadmap expands toward full-color 3D characters, equipment and pose switching, animation, and a more direct connection between the two platforms.

Fantasy Grounds VTT is now free for game masters and players.

Smiteworks, the parent company of FGVTT just announced that it acquired the assets of the 3D character/mini builder Eldritch Foundry (EF). I hadn't heard of EF before, but looking at it it seems pretty much a competitor to Heroforge.

The stated intent is to be able to integrated your EF characters straight into FGVTT so that your party can not be represented as 3D minis in the VTT itself.
