FPL Demographics by Country and Favorite Club

I loaded all 11+ Million FPL managers this season to our DB to do some analysis. Here is the data breaking them down by country and by favorite club.

🌍 By country

  • England is the biggest by a mile with 3.06M managers, about 28% of everyone.
  • Egypt is a clear 2nd with 825k. That's almost as many as Nigeria (427k) and the USA (401k) combined. I wonder if Salah has something to do with that 👀
  • Overall, managers come from 254 countries and territories.

⚽ By favorite club

  • Man Utd has the biggest fanbase with 1.81M managers, a quarter of everyone who picked a club. That's more than the other 15 clubs outside the big 5 combined (1.27M).
  • Liverpool (1.32M) and Arsenal (1.26M) are close together for 2nd and 3rd.
  • Man City (714k) has fewer fans than Chelsea (844k), even after a decade of trophies (legitimate or not).
  • The big 5 make up 82% of managers who chose a club.
  • About 1 in 3 managers (3.8M) never picked a favorite club at all.
