Never eating at Taco Bell again…

My friend(23) and I(22) went to Taco Bell and got 3 Doritos locos tacos, a burrito, the new cinnamon churro things, and a drink, but we didn’t check the order other than making sure everything was there. When we got back to the house and starting eating I found a black hair in the meat of my taco and was *obviously* grossed out. My friend and I are both blonde for reference. My friend and I took photos of the hair to post on Snapchat as one does, and we were just going to let it go other than ridiculing them on our stories. After finding the hair, I was grossed out and threw my other tacos away. My friend continued to eat another few bites of her burrito, and then found a short curly black hair in the meat of her burrito(we didn’t get photo of this because she put the hair on the wrapper, went to spit the food in her mouth out, and it fell off and we couldn’t find it after). She obviously threw her burrito away too after this, and I decided to call the Taco Bell we went to and see if we could get a refund. The manager answered, I told her what happened, and she said “hmm…that’s interesting.” She then offered to replace them, but we were not going to eat anything else that came out of that place, so asked for a refund and she said we would have to go back to the store to get one(turned out this wasn’t true, she could’ve issued the refund over the phone). I offered to bring my taco back in to show them the hair since she clearly didn’t think I was telling the truth by the way she responded to what I told her and by her general tone, but she said it wasn’t necessary. We go back to the place and she doesn’t need my card or anything, she just pushed some buttons and issues the refund(pissed me off more because I drove 30 minutes there and back and spent money on gas when it wasn’t necessary). I proceed to say “we aren’t mad at anyone here, but I think you might have a talk with your employees because one hair is questionable, but finding two hairs in our food is just unhygienic.” She then says, “Well, we wear hairnets and gloves. I wasn’t there, so I can’t say it did or didn’t happen, but you got your refund, so have a nice night.” This was in a painfully sarcastic tone btw. I didn’t respond, because at that point I was just insanely pissed off so I left instead.

Id like to say that I do not frequent the fast food places near me, and I’m sure people do pretend to find hair in their food to get free stuff, but I have never done anything of the sort. I am also not someone who looks like a scammer(hope that doesn’t come off wrong, but I’ve worked food service and know the type), nor did I want to drive 30 minutes out of the way to get a $20 refund. I just think the way I was treated is insane and I refuse to go back and eat at any Taco Bell’s now. I understand the employees are underpaid and everything, but at least have some basic respect for customers.

Had bugs for breakfast 🐜

Timmies chicken wrap if you want extra protein 💪

Edit: I should've provided some context, this was back in April and I'm posting it on behalf of my friend. She doesn't have Reddit and I felt like this was worthy of sharing. I have photos as well but I posted the video because you can see it more clearly

What do you wish was different about fast food resturants?

Hey moms! I hope at least some of you were able to get a good night's sleep. I have a lot of friends who are moms typically in their 30s and I've been considering kids myself. Something that came to mind though was: what do moms (or families in general) look for in fast food restaurants? I know its random but as a non-mom i cant answer it lol.

We need to save Wendy’s

My fellow regards. We need to save Wendy’s before it’s too late. If this company goes bankrupt, we’ll all be out of a job!

What do you think keeps people coming back to fast food despite knowing the health risks? What changes—personal, social, or environmental—do you think would make the biggest difference in helping people eat healthier?

McDonalds “Discount”

Is the someone just pocketing all the money when customers pay in cash? I always pay cash and this is the fourth time my receipt shows “manager meal discount”, when I obviously did not receive any discount. Anyone have another explanation for this?

taco bell is setting me up

So I work at a Taco Bell in NJ which is owned by the summerwood corporation. My mom has stage 3 cancer in her stomach and I was 40 mins late one day because my mom fell and I had to help her up and get her taken care of first then I went to work. They flipped on me for not calling, well I'm sorry that my mom's health completely turned my mind off from calling first...then I get to work for a 9 hour shift and they tell me I can't have a break so I have to work the 9 hours nonstop. The next day I come in and they are trying to frame me for taking $5 out of a drawer. I have never stolen from a job in the 20 years I've been working. I did however get a $4 tip from a customer and if that's what they are trying to get rid of me for that is complete BS. I was told I was hired to be a manager with a higher pay which is the only reason I left my manager position at Burger King and now they are just making stuff up to get rid of me. They're making excuses as to why I'm not a manager yet saying I have to go to some training seminar and I have more management experience than any of their other employees. I am wondering if I need to get a lawyer because if they fire me they are literally damaging my well being because I'm trying to pay off a storage unit my abusive ex had. He moved his stuff out and forced me into a contract that he gets to move my son to Michigan. Now I am responsible for a unit he hasn't been paying for and now I owe them $500 or they are putting my entire life on auction. Including a beautiful desk my grandfather handcrafted for me. My 24 year old GM has no idea how to run a store and he's completely heartless to my situation. To top it off my current partner has a drug problem and I'm missing money due to him as well. My doctor put me on strong anti anxiety meds and the first day I went to work on them I starting nodding off because they are too strong so now I don't take them before work. I feel targeted by my manager for things that are not my fault and I seriously need advice.

We Found a Hair in Our Soup… and the Restaurant Hung Up on Us

Last night my best friend and I planned the perfect movie night. We ordered sushi and soup, grabbed a couple of beers, picked a movie, and everything seemed great.

About three minutes into dinner, my friend suddenly stopped eating. She looked down at her spoon... and there was a long black hair floating in her soup.

Neither of us has black hair.

She immediately felt sick, ran to the bathroom, and threw up.

I called the restaurant, expecting at least an apology and a refund. Instead, the employee offered to send us... another bowl of soup.

After finding someone's hair in our food, that was the last thing we wanted.

I asked for a refund and for them to collect the order. They refused and told us to contact Lieferando instead, saying they'd "review the case."

My friend finally said, "Fine, we'll come to the restaurant ourselves."

The response?

"Don't come. We won't have time for you."

A few minutes later, after more arguing, they simply hung up on us.

The restaurant was closing soon, so we grabbed the food, rushed to the train, and went there anyway.

When we arrived, we showed them the soup and the photo of the hair.

One employee looked at our sushi and said,
"But you've already eaten some of it."

Well... yes. That's usually what people do before they discover a hair in their soup.

They insisted they would only refund part of the order because we'd already eaten some of the sushi.

At that point I started recording the conversation and politely asked him to repeat what he'd just said.

A few minutes later, after a phone call with the manager, they suddenly changed their minds and refunded the entire order.

So now I'm curious...

Were we wrong for going there in person after they hung up on us?

Or would you have done the same?
