Cheap and Easy to Play Deck

Hello all! I’m new and was wondering what your suggestions were for easy-to-play and affordable decks that will do alright in a local setting. Additionally, my son, who is 9, recently started playing FFX and was interested if there were any easy-to-learn decks that were stacked with FFX characters. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Newbie needing some help

Hello! I have been loving how the cards look for this game, and I'm beginning to become quite interested in building a Sephiroth and Cloud deck. However, I don't know anything about deck builds or what is "good" in today's game. Is there any direction or feedback anyone can give? Thanks in advance!

Starting out unbelievably lucky

Started collecting FF TCG last month and got unbelievable luck with the cards I pulled. I was literally shaking when I pulled the Yuna. Opened 10 packets from Best buy, 1 prerelease box and 2 booster boxes.

Now I will collect the remaining foil and full arts that I need before trying my luck with Journey of Discovery's gold signature Terra, who happens to be my favorite character.

I also need to learn how to play and where since no LGS close to me has FF events. 🥲

Still a couple of stores to ask but it's not likely.

Deck Building is Fun!

Just wanted to show off the decks I’ve built so far - idk if Garnet is going to work or not but Xande is immense!

Card Advice - Warp

New Player Here

Once this card has been warped onto the board, do both etb triggers activate or just the warp one?

Thanks in advance!!

I can't take it anymore

I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of WoL7. I try to build a crystals deck. It's weak to WoL7. I try to build knights. It's weak to WoL7. I try to build control. It's weak to WoL7. I want to use removal. It gets stopped by WoL7. I play my 5 drop. Akstar. I play my 4 drop. Akstar. I play my Curilla. 5 whiffs. I finally get backups down. He plays zeromus, stalls a turn, then kills me with gilgamesh. I want to mull for sarah ffl. The decklist laughs at me. He grabs me by the throat. I tech in cuch. He flips Y'sh. I play cloud. He draws amat. I bring mist. He pitches zeromus and both WoLs anyways. I play monsters. I get paired into Mono Earth instead. "You just need better sequencing," he tells me. "Give me one free turn. I can find lethal with Wa/Li Lightning." I can't buy her. She's sold out on TCGPlayer. He grabs my decklist. Everything is weak to WoL7. "I guess this is the end." He plays WoL7. He flips mog vi zeromus. There is no hint of remorse in his eyes. I don't have any answers left. I don't have any mana left. I don't have any hope left. What a shit format

How to identify Opus 1 Wave 1 vs Wave 2

A lot of newer collectors ask how to actually tell Opus 1 Wave 1 apart from Wave 2.

The easiest way is the corrected error cards.

Wave 1 contains the original error versions.
Wave 2 contains the corrected printings.

This is probably the closest thing FFTCG has to a “1st Edition” marker.

There are also foil pattern and texture differences, but the corrected errors are the clearest way to verify.

Curious if any older collectors remember other tells (seal differences, distributor quirks, print variations, etc.).

When are pre-orders for the heavensward deck likely to be available?

I'm in the UK and sadly nowhere local to me stocks the game so I order online. I've got a preorder for opus 30 already but haven't seen any UK stores listing the heavensward deck yet. Is that odd or am I just blind and looking in the wrong places?

Potential livestream

Hey everyone. I’ve enjoyed final fantasy since I was kid. My first FF experience was with the ff8 demo from the Pizza Hut demo disc, at which point my parents got me ff7. Currently playing through rebirth and it’s got me hooked.

Anyway, I’m big into most trading and collectible cards, and was looking to get onto a streaming platform. I grabbed a few packs of these at GameStop and the nostalgia brought me back.

That being said, I wanted to see if there would be any interest from the community in FF TCG breaks? I have two booster boxes of dreamlike oceans and wanted to rip live on stream. Wouldn’t mind doing one box as a personal rip and I can auction off any cards people need or do a break or something. Looking to build a community on the platform, not gouge or take advantage of anyone or anything.

Anyway, happy to hear any input!

New players needing some assistance.

Hello everyone, me and my friends recently picked up some starter decks (Zach, cloud, warrior of light, and the Clive one. After reading the rulebook we THINK we have a basic understanding but I am absolutely one who learns visually. Are there any valid YouTube videos I could reference on step by step how to play? Also deck building vids? Thanks!

Sorting your binders, inquiry.

Howdy Folks.

I recently got into playing the game and have opened some random booster boxes and been given some bulk. I was curious on how you sort your binders?

-By Opus?

-By Element?

In what order would you do a whole Opus? Non foils and then Foils? Or do you put your foils right beside your non foils in card number order?

I love seeing what people's sorting habits are.

I Wish This Was Legal To Play

Translation:

Aya Brea Forward — Gunner When Aya Brea enters the field, deal 4000 damage to any one Forward. Remove Aya Brea from the game: Gain control of one Forward with cost 2 or less. This ability can only be used during your turn.

The 3rd Birthday PR-001 7000

This is from the 2010 run. I like it lots, personally. I'm a big Parasite Eve fan! Anyone know of the 2010 variant??

New-ish Player Feeling Discouraged

Hey guys, so im a fairly new player, only maybe 3-5 months old of playing the game. I got a few decks, my main a 3C XIII, an Army of 1, and gullwings. And I just get in my own head alot either with overthinking/over complicating things. For instance last night I had tye Party up 3 cost Lightning and 4 cost Serah that if I control at least cat. XIII forwards I can pay 0 to deal a damage. With a vanille already on the field I had enough to cast a fang and then the Serah. But all I saw was the Lightning Combo. Which would've lost me the game had we not been doing free play. Afterwards when the LGS was about to close I asked a guy who is national level sone tips or advice to stop getting in my own way and im sure he didnt mean it this way but the advice I got was basically "your decks not good enough. It only has one way to win" and like sure I wanna win and that would be fun. But I got into the game to play with my favorite chstscters make theme decks. He says Aggro is weak against control in actual tournaments but at the same time I dont wanna get rid of half my deck and just put meta freaking cards that aren't cat. XIII. For reference its a Cat. XIII theme and 43/50 are XII and I really dont want it to be 1/3 XIII and the rest just meta Cards then its just not a XIII deck anymore I feel like. (But that might also be the Tism talking) and after that it really just discouraged me and im debating stepping away from the game for a while. I dont know right now but does a tone possibly have some advice for me?

Edit: was asked to post my decklist for my 3C XIII for advice so here's my "Gran Pulse Special" deck- The Gran Pulse Special - FFTCG Standard Deck - Materia Hunter https://share.google/fYm5xMjLUBV1viD9p Feel free to let me know what I can do to make this a bit more competitive if possible while still Trying to keep it core XIII. Thank yall so much

Just starting out, husband and I split a box of Dreamlike Oceans

Not a ton of people near us that play, we did find one LGS that does Friday Night games ( hoping to attend soon if my schedule allows it ) but havent had a chance to participate. We are learning by trial and error and watching videos plus the website simulation. Feel like i'm getting the hang of it! We got the 2024 championship deck to start and we just got a dreamlike oceans boosters to bulk up on some cards to start making our own decks eventually ( we're pretty heavy magic players ) I have NO clue what the best releases are to get packs from but Dreamlike ended up being just what we chose ( plus we pre-ordered for the next release ) Anyways we pulled this today from the box
