I'd say this was worth the wait, huh? 😅 Can't wait to finally finish the deck build to flex with this card. Absolute gorgeous art!

Question about an FFTCG Youtube Channel

Hello everyone.

I am getting back into the fftcg after being off of it for a while and I noticed that a channel that I used to watch all the time, Team Yuna Young FFTCG, is now gone.

Anybody know what happened to them?

Thank you in advance.

How to build a deck as a beginner?

Im well aware there is pre-made decks for beginners, but ive played the game a few times before, but id like to make my own deck. i play with my father in Forth Worth, TX sometimes, so im sure he could help me, but i currently do not live with him. so if someone could explain it to me like im 11 that would help soo much. i only know, 50 cards, and then no more than three of one of the same card.

ive also seen three color decks on here before and i was pretty interested in that, but it has to have a theme? like dawn warriors.

Does anyone know any stores in the Houston, Texas area that sells and accepts trades on FFTCG? I am having a hard time finding much information online. Thanks!

The Charizard Card of Final Fantasy TCG

Been collecting a few cards throughout the years whenever packs were available at my LCS or at GameStop.

My favorite card of all time has to be the timeless Opus 1 Cloud 182L.

There’s just something about it that feels different from modern chase cards. The Yoshitaka Amano artwork, the original Opus 1 nostalgia, and the fact that it’s Cloud — arguably the face of Final Fantasy — makes it feel like the perfect centerpiece for FFTCG collectors.

What I’ve always respected about the card is that it became iconic naturally. No massive influencer hype cycle, no ultra-limited lottery gimmick — just years of collectors slowly realizing how important the card actually is to the history of the game.

To me, it’s basically the “Charizard” of FFTCG.

Not necessarily because it’s always the highest priced card, but because it represents the identity of the game itself. When people think of early FFTCG collecting, this is usually one of the first cards that comes to mind.

And honestly, I think a lot of people are going to look back and wish they picked one up earlier while the community is still relatively niche. Original flagship cards from long-running TCGs tend to age differently once newer collectors start entering the hobby years later.

Especially when:

- it’s from the very first set
- features the franchise’s most recognizable character
- has iconic Amano art
- and already has a reputation within the community

Even after all the newer full arts and premium rarities, I still keep coming back to Opus 1 Cloud. Some cards just feel permanent.

Curious what everyone else thinks the “must-own” card of FFTCG is.

Does anyone collect cards for a specific game?

I've never played the TCG with anyone, don't know how and have nobody here who collects or plays either, but the main reason I like collecting them is to get any cards related to Final Fantasy VIII and keep them in a binder of their own. I do really like other cards but that's what I'm really after. I never really see anyone do it like that and was wondering if that was even a thing people do. I know some people like collecting specific Pokemon card characters and sets but never really saw it happen with FF.

If not that, do you collect it for any other reasons other than playing the game or just collecting for the love of the cards?

Looking for players

Hello, I live in Wisconsin, today I called over 20 shops and can’t find any organized play near me, every shop said people don’t really ask about them or one said it died out but if I can get a few people they will support it, is this just a lost cause or should I try hunting for people?

Did not Dissapoint thanks!

So about a week ago I was crowd sourcing with the community whether or not to go for the Legacy collection and was advised and decided to go for it. Sharing my hits from this one, thanks all for the input :)

Cards sorted by Artist ?

Hello, I don't play FFTCG but would like to collect all the cards illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano, just like I do in MTG. Is there a database where I can see all the cards drawn by him ? I looked up the first few card databases but none of them allowed me to sort by artist.

Thanks in advance !

So I bought my first cards via a booster box today and pulled this… now what do I do?

Sorry I don’t know which flair to use, looked at the rules and didn’t see a breakdown. Apologies.

I’m stunned I found a rare card.

I haven’t been into TCG/CCG since you-gi-oh and Pokémon were first on the scene. I know you can get cards graded. My wife is running to the comic shop for penny sleeves and semi rigid sleeves (as that was what I read was recommended to do first), but is grading a must? Or good idea? Can some experienced collectors give me some advice?

Thank you in advanced!
