Omega Weapon (29-078R) Question

Omega Weapon (29-078R) Question

Looking for cards from the most recent sets to build a new deck around when I stumbled on Omega Weapon. The text says "If you control 5 or more Backups", yet I thought you were only allowed to have up to 5 Backups at a time. Is there some way to get more than 5 Backups on the field even briefly, or is this future proofing in case they decide to allow more than 5 Backups, or is this card just worded weirdly?

What was so special about the Rakk Hive?

Playing BL1 again for the first time in about two years. Angel hyped it up saying it would be this huge challenge. The boss went down real easy, but what I wanna know is the story significance. Why was it guarding a Vault Key fragment? How did Angel know it had a Vault Key fragment? I know >!Jack was manipulating events behind the scenes, did he have something to do with it?!< Why does it seem so weirdly important despite being just a dumb animal?

Or was it just some big monster for you to kill and not think much about?

Whatever happened to the Luminous Engine?

I wonder why Square seemingly abandoned the Luminous Engine after just two games (as far I know anyway). Capcom has the RE Engine and that's been going well for them (minus Monster Hunter Wilds' initial performance issues) and Konami had the FOX Engine (I don't know if they still use it though). Luminous Engine games like Final Fantasy XV and Forspoken look gorgeous and still hold up over a decade later, so I wonder why Square didn't do what Capcom did and keep iterating on their own in-house engine.

Might be answering my own question but if I had to guess then maybe what happened was that only one development studio really understood/used Luminous while the rest of Square used Unreal Engine? Maybe Square could have trained the rest of their development studios on using Luminous like how Capcom did with their studios. Or maybe Square had PTSD from the nightmare that was Crystal Tools (it's part of the reason Versus XIII couldn't get development going and partially why Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 was such a disaster) and just gave up on making their own engines.

Then again, Unreal is probably just cheaper/easier to use, minus the performance issues of Unreal Engine 5.

Thinking of adding another arcade stick to my collection; which one?

I'm in the mood to buy another arcade stick for my collection. I own an old Xbox 360 Madcatz Street Fighter IV FightStick, a Hori Fighting Stick Alpha which is my current main stick, and I was lucky enough to grab a Virtua Stick High Grade in decent condition during my trip to Japan last year and now I'm looking for another stick. I wanna grab a Nacon Daija soon and I was also thinking of getting a cool older stick.

I've boiled down my options to a Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 SA and the Madcatz TE2+. They both look pretty cool, especially the V3 SA since it seems to be a perfect replica of Vewlix arcade layouts in terms of the stick distance from the buttons, and the TE2+ looks cool as hell too.

My main questions are how much effort I'd have to put in to use these on modern consoles. Though I only play fighting games on PC I'd like the option to use these on PS4/PS5 for when I finally start going to local events, if that's possible. I know Brook's converters exist but how good are those? Do they add input lag? Does the V3 SA have input lag (I heard that was kinda an issue for PS3 sticks like this one)?

VF3tb High Level Aoi Gameplay

Anyone know where I can find some high level Aoi gameplay footage? She's probably my new favorite character and VF3tb is one of my favorite classic fighting games.

You know what would be cool and make sense?

If during EVO they announced a Nintendo Switch 2 port of KOF XV that would release on the same day as the new balance patch.

From what I've heard, when developing game updates you generally want to include as much as you can in one update as opposed to splitting things into multiple updates, like releasing both a new character and a balance patch at the same time like how COTW, SF6, and Tekken 8 do. I've heard that you have to go through an approval process with platform owners like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo before you can release an update, so it's easier to go through that process once for a combined balance patch and new character release as opposed to going through that process twice for a balance patch and then again for a new character.

What I'm getting at is we've seen other fighting game developers release new content at the same time as a port to another platform, like how Capcom released Elena with the Switch 2 version of SF6 or when VF5 REVO World Stage came out with all of its new content in addition to ports to Xbox and Switch 2. The July balance patch for KOF XV would be a good time to release a Switch 2 port alongside it.

You know, assuming that they're actually making a Switch 2 port.

Do you think this drawing of the average Reddit Mod was based on this art of Ragna from Calamity Trigger?

Probably not, but I think it's funny. Whenever I see this meme I just can't help but think of Ragna from the Japanese BBCT box art.
