r/Borderlands

In Borderlands 3, vault hunters were able to choose from 3 abilities to use instead of 1. If you could give the vault hunters from the previous games 2 more abilities to choose from, what would you give them?

I'll start. I'd give Zer0 a teleporting ability that can later be upgraded to drop a grenade where he was (green tree)

and I'd give Zer0 a giant AOE sword attack (specifically harms enemies in a wide horizontal area infront of you) that can scale with his melee abilities (Red tree)

And that would leave him with Deception as his blue tree ability.

Is there a confirmed list of the current 6 Sirens? And without spoilers as to who if known do we know if the hinted 7th Siren exists?

I only know about Mayas successor and it seems like BL3 DLG was hinting that Lillith survived teleporting the Great Vault away so thats maybe 2 I know about Amara but thats it

The Fyrestone theme is such a BANGER, a timeless classic

https://youtu.be/I9ku93WglAg?is=xuLPYk1ROehOufkC

I chose the one from BL2 but you get the idea, no theme is more emblematic and representative of Borderlands as a game series. If a blind person asked you to describe Borderlands, you could just put this on and he'd probably get 80% of the explanation.

It has such a gritty, desolated atmosphere, truly makes you feel like you're a prey in a very very dangerous area, full of people completely devoid of any humanity and you somehow gotta make it out alive. I LOVE it.

It is so nostalgic too, when the first game came out I was fucking 11 years old and I remember falling in love instantly., partly because of the music.

I wish the next Borderlands game will go back to this specific atmosphere, I understand the choice to change the setting a little after x amount of games, but man, I wish it stayed western sci-fi and not just sci-fi, and I hope it makes a great comeback for BL5 (or any upcoming game from the series).

I actually feel like doing another run of BL1 or BL2 just listening to this... Jesper Kyd truly is the John Williams of videogames soundtrack.

How do I actually play this game

I've played all the borderlands to some degree . I have BL 2, 3 , pre sequel and 4 . But only recently my girlfriend started to play with me ( not a gamer really 🤣) . We started with 4 as it was new to both of us .

But now my love grows for the franchise and everything overwhelms me . I have no idea when the best time to play a dlc is , I don't know how to make a good build , I don't understand UVH or anything to do with it . I want to experience all of it ,in all games but when is a good time to hop into a dlc , when is it good to farm bosses , is low level farming pointless , how do I know what guns are god tier , why is my legendary bad compared to my girlfriends .

If this overwhelms me I'm sure she will give up eventually, she just shoots and moves on but doesn't understand anything about the mechanics

I need a guide or something 🤣

Anybody else feel like they've just been chasing thatgunzerker high in every game since BL2?

God, there will just never be an action skill as dangerously addictive as that ever again, will there?

Like a never ending feed of dopamine.

Brick focus

Brick. I don’t get his class. What am I missing? I’m level 22. Played through far enough to jump in to Tartarus Station for the Robolution DLC, knowing I can farm the chests at the end and upgrade all my gear. I have two points in the Blaster capstone skill so I can regenerate a few rockets for my launcher, but not getting any after kills. Relying on smg with corrosive damage mostly. Should I split between health and shield from tank skill tree, and damage from blaster skill tree? The other character’s skill trees made perfect sense to me. 😒

Are there any comedic weapons?

Hello, I'm still pretty new to the community of these games. I've beaten 1-3, and currently working on the fourth. Tried the Pre-Sequel but wasn't a fan, and haven't played either of the Tales games yet. I have TTWL in my library so I'll get around to that one eventually as well.

I was wondering if these games had any kind of comedic, joke types of weapons that I may be overlooking. Like guns that absolutely suck on purpose, or funny names, shapes, sounds, etc.

What’s your favorite Side quest in bl2

Rules are you can’t do ones lie doctors orders or the grug nozzle one. Basically none that people will use for farming or for its rewards

Lore/character discussion 👇

Hello fellow Borderlands lore likers/lovers! Here to start a discussion on the lore because I love hearing people's opinions 🙏 that said...

- what characters would you LOVE to see return? This includes niche characters by the way.

- Another question: what other media do you think Gearbox should produce for Borderlands? This includes books, other games, podcasts etc.

Also- if you have discord and love to chat about Borderlands characters/lore and/or write Borderlands stuff, let me know. Always looking for new friends. (Mods lmk if this isnt allowed ill edit/delete.)

If Gearbox made another Pre-Sequel, explaining the backstory of the series, who would you want to see as a VH? What would you want to see?

What if for a BL3 Pre-Sequel you played as a bunch of bandits/mercenaries fighting for various corporations or the Twin Gods. You could have VHs based on specific enemies, maybe a Goliath Vault Hunter, or maybe a former member of the Dahl Lost Legion, or the New Pandora Legion, anything really.

What playstyle archetypes are still missing from Borderlands?

Title. Is there anything that we're still missing form the general pool of Vault Hunters that we have? We have heavy melee hitters, guys with endless bullet streams, mech summoning, having robot turrets, spellcasters, etc. Is there anything we're missing that you'd like to see become a Vault Hunter?

The two ideas I have right now is a hook character and maybe something DMC/Ultrakill inspired. I'm kinda surprised when I think about how Borderlands has never had someone with a simple hook/melee combo thing considering how common it is in shooters today. Just as simple as a skill tree around bringing enemies close to kill with a shotgun blast or melee followup, maybe with modifiers to make it do elemental damage, bring in multiple at once, create novas, etc.

As for Ultrakill/DMC I know we've had character bonuses for switching weapons fast but what about someone whose entire character was built on that, not just a skill tree, and each skill tree just focused on a different aspect of combos/score? Maybe they could have a score meter that with greater score the more damage they deal, so they'd be running around, switching constantly, using melee, sliding and slams for damage, etc.

Some of these ideas are probably better than others but I'm sure someone out there has better ideas than me. What do you think?

Borderlands 1 Goty Vs Enhanced

Hello, I bought the game as a Steam key. The GOTY version is already translated into my language (modders translated it), but the Enhanced version is not. Will I enjoy playing the GOTY version? I've never played the series before.

Energy VS. Armor

I feel a little biased. I have been playing BL for about 2 years now. But I got "the handsomest collection", and have completed every borderlands game besides the 2 stories. So when BL4 introduced the "Armor" variant shields, I basically completely ignored them.

Can anyone explain to me what the cost/benefit would be for using armor shields vs energy?

For reference, best shields i have in each category

Energy: Tortoise stanchion 128k

Armor: Little sister 47k (now 171k)

Edit: got a 171k little sister from a hardcore hadrons abyss last night. So it's good to know you can still roll a high capacity Armor shield
