He's not as bad as people make him out to be. He can be a Jack of All Trades when you need him to be. He can use Blaze or he can use Blizzara (I used Bomb and Veil Dancer for this) and he can become the most OP thing you've ever seen. A lot of people seem to ignore him but use him right and he's an absolute menace. He can mow through most enemies if you use the right rage. A bit of strategy is all you need to use him right.

Been playing around in the PR version for Android.

Never occurred to me that you could put a dragon horn on everyone in your party (except Umaro) and use Quetzalli to scoop them all up for a jump attack.

With the dragon horn (even without the Dragoon boots) they all hit at least twice, sometimes 4 times each.

This makes this potentially even more devastating than the Genji Glove/Master Scroll combo. Potentially 16 hits in one move and the jump attacks are pretty powerful.

I'm in my mid 40s for levels with most characters and in the dragon forest, even the Tyrannosaur pincer attack rarely uses more than the first two characters to drop before the battle is over. The Brachiosoar usually takes up to the third or fourth drop but it still works.

Not easier than the Genji glove trick but definitely more fun for me watching the crew pound the hell out of major enemies.

This also works well in the first stage of the battle with Kefka if you set it up right and don't lose one of your members with the dragon horn

Up until the Cave to the Sealed Gate I did two wonderfully foolish things:

1. I didn't equip any espers. I didn't even know that was possible.

2. I thought the Rage menu had the entire catalog of rages and only used the one rage I knew I'd acquired: Bomb.

This led to some horrid consequences. The fight with the boss in the train sequence was horrendous and used up a lot of my items and my sanity. I ran out of Hi-Potions in the Magitek Factory and during the crane fight put Gau on the Bomb rage. Without Cure all of my party died after defeating the ice crane, while Gau used Blaze continuously on the crane (healing it) and the crane did its thermal reaction thing and used a Fire attack (healing Gu) causing an endless battle loop softlock. I defeated the Cranes barely with Sabin alive by 4 HP.

Now I learnt... I could've breezed through. No wonder

Now I learnt my suffering was useless.

Now I learnt Gau wasn't a holy savior to all, but only to esperless me, even with most of his catalog inaccessible.

I've heard some people like Setzer and consider him adventurous rogue. A cheeky rascal if you will. I'm playing through this game again for my blog, and honestly I hate this guy.

Lets just look at after the kidnapping. After Setzer kidnaps the woman he thinks he loves, he throws her in a room because he has better stuff to do right now. When he returns the gang strokes his ego and he agrees to listen to them. But after they talk of the travesties committed by the Empire, it doesn't work. Instead Setzer says he will help if he can marry Celes. WHO IS NOT THE WOMAN HE PROFESSED HIS LOVE FOR. She is a stranger, but she pretty, so I'm going to marry her instead. I honestly can't with this dude. I know we get some backstory, but he never really redeems himself. Because backstory may explain S A, but it cannot excuse it.

He is the only person I would neglect in the World of Ruin, but I can't even do that.

Makes 0 sense whatsoever that there are designated areas listed as “save points” that you run across to activate and even gives a sound queue, but they don’t actually hard save the game?

Walked over one in an area and got off. Had to hard reset the console in between sessions; now I’m 3 hours behind in gameplay haha.

I guess they either wanted to put a shiny sprite in the game or I am being idiotic for thinking a “save point” would actually save my game.

Holy shit i did not think so many mouth breathers would be offended over a simple misunderstanding of a (pointless) game mechanic. Sorry this game has a useless feature that should have been updated in the port. I’ll go ahead and delete it right now so I don’t contribute anymore harm to the franchise if you promise to take a shower🥺

Loaded up a first world back up save and world of ruin save and I've got every chest listed on the both maps so must have been a one time area chest.

I swear I was so careful everytime I was in a non returnable area but I must have missed one somewhere.

Merton, or Meltdown? Personally gotta go with Merton from the SNES as that is what I grew up with, and every time I mention it, but with greater memory allowance, the spell is renamed to its original. Opinions?

I'm doing a natural magic challenge for the first time. I'm playing on pixel remaster, and my rules are that I have set AP to 0, but I'm still allowing everyone to equip espers for the stat boosts. Just that no one is allowed to learn any magic from them or from any other items. Strago can learn lores, Celes and Terra learn spells by leveling, but that's it.

So far, it's been fun. It's definitely made me have to think more strategically, and struggle with bosses I normally could cheese. I'm now in the world of ruin and have just picked up Cyan.

I've been relying on Gau way more than usual and having to learn how to use him and which rages do what instead of just using Straycat and calling it a day. He's pretty much the center of all my boss fighting strategies.

Strago is becoming incredibly important as well. Normally he just sits on the airship the whole time, but now I actually need him.

Has anyone done this challenge before? Are there any things in the world of ruin you think I should look out for? Do you think that I should next time not allow espers at all and not do the stat boosts?

Hello. I've been playing T-Edition for a while now and really having a blast! My only real complaint is the UI for this doesn't show a star next to the espers my characters have mastered. I really have no way of knowing whose mastered what without going through each esper one-by-one and otherwise just trying to remember.

I'm pretty sure I've seen images of other UI's available, though I haven't been able to figure it out myself. Are there others available? And if so, should I be concerned with corrupting my save file?

I cannot trigger Gau’s father side quest on snes. What do I need to do exactly?

I had auto-reflect and reraise on Locke, and he was the only one alive in battle. I kept changing magic master's barriers until he casted a spell that he was weak to. Eventually he became weak to fire and he casted Firaga a lot. I changed his barrier like 23 times until this happened. My head hurts now.

Playing again for the first time in years and Kefka has stood out even more to me than before. Like when the "truce" meeting happens in Thamasa, right as the Espers atttack, he just says,

"I'd say you're all charged up, boys and girls... or whatever...
       Say, remind me to show you my Magicite collection someday!
       You might see a few familiar faces!!!"

He slaughtered their friends, turned them into Magicite souvenirs, and now jokes about showing off their dead friends right before he's clearly about to murder them too. Absolutely savage.

So I just noticed today that the entire website of FF6Hacking dot com is deader than a doornail. I was just there about 2 days ago sifting through some of their resources and information for a rom hack of FF6 that I was working on, just to get a bit of information that RHDN itself didn't have, since FF6Hacking was always a good place to get a lot of that very technical information on the game. As well as a lot of the exclusive specific specialized patches and ESPECIALLY it's exclusive and well documented data about the music and lots of various soundtrack hacking information that is all just LOST now.

Anyway, this happened suddenly and out of the blue to the point where looking online even recently turned up nothing about this, but they are most definitely dead and their site is just entirely inaccessible. Their hosting server just appears to have banned and kicked them off their service.... not paying hosting bills, getting false flagged as a malware site or SOMETHING.

Anyway, does anyone KNOW anyone from that community that used to post or contribute anything? Gi Nattak or Madsuir or anyone? Can they shed any light on that or do something to save or recover any of that information they had about the important resources for hacking FF6 that was only hosted there?? This seems like kind of a serious issue with a lot to lose.
