My oil painting of Terra FFVI
Just completed another painting of Terra in my own style and reinterpretation!

I’m on an Old RPG binge, I’m currently working my way through another game but I’m really excited to start this game after.
I’m playing the version on the Snes classic. (Ie when it was localized as Final fantasy 3.)
Edit: Ok I will try it without a guide. However as someone who tends to enjoy things more with guides. If the game starts getting too frustrating I will just use one of the recommended guides. Which I also appreciate.
I can't remember when I did my last play through but I know it was before I starting coming to this sub. I have beaten it many times but I overlooked many things that make it fun. For one, I never really knew how to use Gau correctly. This time, I'm DESTORYING enemies with Guard Leader rage. Additionally, I'm using STEAL better to snag relics and I'm using those relics efficiently to make dudes strong. Finally, Cyan sucks!
I just got Espers and I'm looking forward using those Level Up bonuses.
Like what if they did something similar to Final Fantasy VII where they remade it into three separate games?
If Final Fantasy VI was remade into two separate games, the first game could be called Final Fantasy VI: The Gestahlian Empire and the second game could be called Final Fantasy VI: The World of Ruin.
The first game could be strictly about the Gestahlian Empire and the game could end on a cliffhanger when the world gets ruins. The second game can strictly be about the World of Ruin.
No, I'm not talking about how we're turning the dead magic guy into a weapon, although in hindsight that's pretty fucked
Instead, we have the weapon shop owner, instead of escaping Narshe to presumably a safer haven, while having an unknown source of food and water, in the middle of an abandoned city filled with monsters, chooses to wait for you, in the hopes that you find him.
You meet him, and he immediately states to you his profession. He's been a blacksmith for SEVENTY years, and has the utmost confidence that he can use his skills to forge this rare stone into the greatest weapon in the game (well, second greatest). He senses a great power in it, and is ready to put his skills into, what is presumably the ultimate test, and give you a powerful tool to use against the person that destroyed the entire world.
And you can just completely shit on him, someone who probably doesn't know what the stone actually is (since he calls it a strange power), and tell him "yeah I want the stone". 70 years of being a blacksmith, the opportunity to finally do something amazing in the world, flushed down the drain. And if you're playing any version with a post game (which fortunately for the old man is not the Pixel Remaster version), the Esper is ultimately the best choice since you can get unlimited Ragnaroks, which also just sucks even more for him.
Poor guy.
Just something that came to mind. Here’s a couple of mine:
Phoenix Crossbow (Sabin, Edgar): Edgar fires his crossbow which Sabin then sets on fire with rising Phoenix.
A Picture of Death (Relm, Shadow): Relm paints a picture of Shadow who joins the real Shadow with a shuriken toss and a blade strike.
Wild Dance (Mog, Gau, Umaro): They do a dance that gives them all Haste, Berserk, Protect and Shell.
Ultima Blade (Celes, Terra, Relm, Strago): Celes absorbs magic from all the others and uses it for a big blade attack.
Cause we were all rushing to the airship. Nobody was waiting until the internet happened.
Probably say the same with Cid honestly.
Pixel Remaster Steam version, first off. Long story short, I didn't know when to wait for Shadow, didn't wait for Shadow, and got upset at myself so I restarted the game so I COULD wait for Shadow. That all being said, I'm back to Sabin's scenario with Kefka. I'm watching the imperial troops "siege" Doma castle and, like.... really? Have y'all taken the time to watch these animations? Half these guys are punching walls, falling down, and just, like... jumping half a foot? It's almost comical the reaction the Doma guards have. "MY LIEGE!! THE IMPERIAL FORCES HAVE ARRIVED! THEY'RE AT THE WALL AND INVADING IN FULL FORCE!!!" Meanwhile their animations make them look like incapable hamsters.
IDK, it got a chuckle out of me. Good game so far tho lol.
Hi everyone! Currently in the end game of my first every playthrough of FF6.
I’m currently at Dinosaur Forrest doing some grinding before heading the Kefka’s tower. I have Setzer with his fixed dice and I just hit 9999 damage on a T-Rex. Christ on a bike, that is hilarious and I don’t know why.
Like no father should abandon the family but staying would only bring the danger home. 😞
After years of gaming and this trope beaten to death by every RPG, I can kinda relate to Kefka in this moment. I've been replaying FF6 since i beat it around 10 years ago and having a blast
I downloaded a clean rom, copied save file and changed save name to match my rom hack. But when I check my inventory it is this from top to bottom :(. This is on both the normal save and EX save, but I have an untouched save on desktop. Everything except inventory seems same. Luckily I created a backup on desktop but when i copy this into my saves folder it just changes it again :/. Is the file cooked. Someone helppp.
Putting his hands to his head and sticking out his tongue, or dancing about while giggling, or having a higher pitched voice with Joker's mannerisms...
Kefka may have been a jester-looking lunatic but he was not silly. He wouldnt stick his tongue our or go Na na nanana at people. He didnt giggle and do cartwheels...
He was a sick and twisted narcissist who went on nihilistic rants, raged over small things, and cackled at the sight of destruction (not this giggling - it was more like a Jafar style cackle and usually only when he was the cause of destruction). He was also a competent soldier/henchman who took his job seriously while also using his power to humiliate his underlings
Really the silliest thing he did in the game was force soliders to empty sand from his boots. Otherwise he was pretty nasty and nothing like a jester (well minus his weird one liners about submarines or self help books).

The original link doesn't work anymore, if anyone happens to have this I would love to find it. Thanks!
