Morbheg Knights Flesh Eater Courts

These were my first ever painted minis. I dabbled in wet blending, formed a couple things in milliput for the first time to sculpt some teeth to put on the horn and a little scull shaped brooch on one of the shoulders that didnt get captured in the photos. In general, i just tried to have fun with it. I have gotten better since and I have a couple more units of these that I can't wait to experiment on again to see how much I have improved in the last 2 or so years.

It's not the full unit. I let my 8 year old paint the last model. It doesn't quite match the quality of these 😂

I used aquarium rocks, made some bones and mushrooms out of milliput for the base, and felt for a moss like texture.

How cheap/accessible is starting this army?

Hi, I've been wanting to get into this or 40k and after looking around online I've really been taken with these little freaks. My main question is, how easy is it for a complete newcomer to this genre to start with this army? Would it be hard to paint or build the models? How expensive are they compared to other armies? Should I worry about getting models only for them to be replaced/updated immediately after?

Can I play Flesh-Eater Courts without using Older Models?

I'm thinking of starting my first AoS army with Ogors, Slaves to Darkness or Flesh-eaters currently. I don't like using older sculpts just out of preference until new refreshes come out.

So if I were to get into FEC, I'd avoid Crypt Horrors/Flayers, Crypt Ghouls, and Zombie Dragons.

Is a FEC list still powerful and effective without those units? Or would a list excluding those units likely fail.

(Note: I haven't read up on the Army Rule yet for Flesh-Eater Courts so I don't know how the army works particularly yet. If someone would explain it in comments that'd be lovely.)

First proper Hunter Ghoul from the Royal Beastflayers!

This one took quite some time (10+ hours). Next one will be the same color scheme but I will try to dumb it down so it takes less than 3 hours 😄

First Model Painted!

This is my first time painting a model in 20 years. I dropped the hobby after high school and am just now getting back into it. Loving the royal court and all it's glory. All hail the Summer king!

Ive gotten interested in the faction and want to learn more

Some years ago when i first dabbled in painting and warhammer i dont remember remotely liking the faction. While recently looking at the model range and reading into the lore this perspective changed significantly. This got me intrigued in what has changed in the past 4 or so years and what models released in that time. Some still dont do it for me but the ones that do look amazing. Ive been trying to find out what kits got released when but havent been very lucky in that pursuit.

Looking at getting into AOS what do you like about Flesh Eaters?

Wanting to start an army and these models (especially the Abhorrent Ghoul King) standout to me so other than that why pick them?

Cryptguard flesh eater courts

This is my second finished unit (or some of it). I had a lot of fun with basing, and really struggled with the faces. The rest was pretty fun though. Any pointers welcome.

All in now!

Went to an auction and got this lot for $150! With the battlefoce box I already have and the Charnel watch spearhead I think I am all on Flesh Eater Courts. Not the only Army I got for a ridiculous price but the one I'm most excited for. I can not believe people didn't bid on AoS complete armies.

Sir Panteleon the Paladin WIP and question

This is Sir Pantrleon I've made for the variant Varghulf and I am wondering should I:

A) Add a banner or a sword stabbed into him as the banner

B) give him a shield (pictured)

Let me know what you think I should add to this guy and if the shield is either too much or just right :-)

Godrick the Undying

Sir Godrick the Undying or Godrick the Rat depending on who you ask. The skull and a half sigil represent his former liege lord and his son before Godrick betrayed them and usurped their lands. Their skulls are still planted on the spikes of his armor.

Breaking his oath cursed him and his newly claimed land. Countless rats flooded the county over the next few months causing a mass exodus as famine and disease ravaged the land. Rodrick and what few loyal subjects who remained began to display rat like features as they struggled to maintain the county. Eventually even large rats began to replace the long dead beasts of burden.

While spending years tending to his cursed lands, Godrick slowly descended into madness. In this state he believed his salvation could be found in an unlikely ally, the undead. The people of the land were to leave all corpse out in the open to attract ghouls. As more undead stalked the towns countrysides of the county, the inhabitants who survived eventually became ghouls themselves. Godrick did not escape this fate either, but his mind was already so far gone that the transformation had little to no effect.

He is one of only a handful of ghouls able to communicate with non-ghouls, has the cunning to deceive, but is still vain, seeking only to improve the his status, fame, and fortune. He often leads his forces on the back of his ratasus (rat Pegasus) to raid neighboring towns and villages to capture future ghoulish subjects. The common folk share numerous tales of witnessing Godrick being slain in battle, only for him to return, leading the next raid months later.

New lord to the court

Greetings, recently assembled my models to get to 2k but have not played yet. Do we have any idea if we will be getting a newer book sooner rather than later? Wanted to see if the consensus would be worth it to go ahead and get or wait.

Bringing back destroyed unit.

My valiant and valorous unit of Morbegh knight were destroyed. Next turn, my glorious Arch regent bring them back from his Charnel throne.

So i bring them back in a 6 inch board edge, can they also benefit from the d6 move from the charnel throne ?

The blessing shown in paint

I wanted to show the blessing of the flesh eaters in my color scheme.

So this guy lives in the burning desert, wich the Summer king rules over. But he sees himself as a knight in shining armor, rushing to protect the lush domain of his monarch.

I try to show his point of view.

I did this by painting a blue line between the terrifying creature of reality and the shining armor and green grass of the delusion.

What do you think?
