Full disclosure: I run Waybill, a small Ontario business, and this is about what we built. Mods, feel free to remove it if it's not allowed.

If you resell in Canada, you know the pain: a 2 kg parcel from Ontario to BC or Nova Scotia can eat most of your profit, and quoting shipping on Marketplace, Kijiji or Instagram sales is a guessing game because the price changes by postal code.

We sell real Canada Post labels at one flat price to anywhere in Canada, based only on weight and speed:

- Expedited Ground: $6 (1 kg) to $10 (5 kg)

- Xpresspost: $8 to $12

- Priority: $10 to $14

Why resellers might like it:

- Quote shipping instantly. Same price whether the buyer is in Toronto or Whitehorse.

- Off-platform sales. Great for Marketplace, Kijiji, Instagram and Discord deals where you don't have built-in labels.

- No subscription or minimums. Buy a label, print the PDF, drop it at any post office or book a Canada Post pickup.

If you sell on eBay or Poshmark, you'd paste the tracking number into the order yourself, since we're not integrated with those platforms yet.

I have been using the express post flat rate promo and offering it as a flat rate based on what I thought was local and National differentiations, but have found out that it is based on rate codes and not just postal codes/regional location I somehow got the only person that Canada Post that could have given me a direct answer about this on the first call so wanted to share this because it is so vaguely worded and it is resulting in a bunch of overcharges on orders for me.

The eligibility is based on what is considered local via rate code, so you need to be able to look up rate code eligibility based on the origin postal code. I found out because I've had two orders from thunder Bay which is 13 hours away from me in Winnipeg, and they are qualifying for the local price break but not the national price break. Local is 2.5 kg for 6.xx and National is up to 5 kg for $12.

Here are the links, hopefully someone can use this, I don't know why this wasn't disclosed or at least made available through API use so that it would automatically come up instead of having to be invoked manually through snapship, therefore making it impossible to accurately quote unless you already know these rate codes, and these pages are buried on Canada Post site. I’ve been shipping to the UK smoothly with nothing. I’m wondering if anyone has been shipping to the EU using stallion express and had any luck getting packages into the EU without the stupid PPWR registration?
