Drywall repair

We had our knob and tube removed and now our walls are Swiss cheese. Anyone have a drywall company they have worked with and like? I got one quote that was $200 per patch. I need like 40 patches, so that’s quite expensive IMO.

Looking for traditional American July 4th hot dog

It's my second July 4th weekend here and am as surprised as I was last year that there are no vendors selling hot dogs. Even people grilling by the water, I see none. Are they not a thing in this area?

High stakes dining out (OC)

I read this article about a restaurant in Foster City putting some measures to avoid "children induced damages" and inspired me to draw this cartoon.

Better budget an extra 30% on your next dinner 😂

Update on Goose Management Population

Does anyone have an update on how satisfied the committee is with this year’s goose population?

Because it still feels like there are a lot of geese, and goose droppings remain a significant issue. Are the current numbers consistent with the committee’s goals, or is additional management being considered?

Canceling fireworks on 250 year anniversary of the United States really stinks

I'm so angry, I can't see straight. I was really mad when they canceled last year. I knew they were lying about it being a safety hazard but I thought I'd give them a pass and this year would be a fabulous celebration.

This is the one day a year when I love being in Foster City.

They used to have a lovely Safe Streets for Halloween, and the Art and Wine Festival was really a big deal. It's not anymore, so all we have is the 4th of July.

Now it's just a total disaster, like last year. They are lying through their teeth found it being a safety issue. They absolutely can shoot the fireworks off safely. I actually asked a fireworks expert and he laughed at the notion that it couldn't be done safely because of the construction and crowds. What crowds will even bother to come, since we're not having the fireworks?

On the outside chance they're telling the truth, they could have a drone show, there are multiple tech companies in our backyard.

I'm just so angry! Our country is 250 years old, and we can't see any fireworks unless we load the kids in the car and drive in horrible traffic for miles. It stinks worse than the goose poop!

Cheapskate Foster City you have plenty of money. What are you spending it on that you can't spend it on the fireworks?

You certainly have done nothing to eliminate the goose problem. How many thousands of dollars have you spent on that? How long does it take to make a community center, anyway, it's been years, and that building is nothing special. We are known for having the ugliest library. I've never seen such slow construction in my life! dictated please excuse errors I'm too angry to make Corrections

Looking for baby-friendly activities in Foster City this summer

I’m on parental leave until August and need something to get me out of the house during the week. Open to suggestions! I know about story time at the library, and am almost finished with free swim classes at La Petite Baleen.
