How often do hosts check messages?

Hi all!

I’ve read through a few posts as FF is new to me but I’m feeling a little discouraged! I sent out multiple booking inquiries for a short term rental and I’m not hearing anything back. I always send a friendly (but to the point) message to the host and always close out by saying I look forward to chatting or that I’m happy to answer any questions they may have.. but I am getting NOTHING back!

For hosts, what does it look like on your end? Do you get alerts? How do you sort through multiple inquiries?

I am in need of short term housing while I finish relocating but the World Cup has really done a number on Airbnb and other potential options and I’m supposed to leave in a couple of weeks. I have toured apartments during previous visits but I was hoping to use something like FF to have more time to apartment hunt once I’m actually in the area full time. Thanks for any input you have!

"UN"renting between renting to tenant advice

We are renting a studio in our home for mid-term lengths (traveling healthcare, students' clinical rotations, etc.). Between rentals when there isn't quite enough time to rent, we'd like to make the studio available, rent-free, for a week to 1) a 2nd* traveling grand/parent or 2) parent + young adult receiving treatment at a local med school so they don't have to incur the additional cost burden of housing while required to stay in town during their treatment.(*the hospital can usually accommodate 1 parent in the pediatric unit with a 2nd parent required to locate lodging elsewhere). We would not provide meals or any additional services; simply a peaceful, restful place to stay, rent-free. We still have the same concerns for vetting anyone staying with us, regardless of the reason for their stay, so we feel a background check is a must. QUESTIONS for this magnificent crowd:

  1. We want our place left as nicely as people find it. Any reason not to "charge" a refundable deposit as that incentive?
  2. Any damage could result in a lot of $$$ for us - any reason not to require renter's insurance?
  3. We will use a modified lease agreement - any language to be sure to include?

We want this to be easy and beneficial for them, not another hassle or expense in what is likely a very difficult time for them. At the same time, we need to protect ourselves. Your advice is always appreciated.

Hoping I didn’t pay for this for nothing

Been on furnished finder over a month and I had someone that seemed real and sent a fake cashiers check and then ghosted me? I’m a host on this app and offering a room in my home in Las Vegas 1300/month how do I know what’s a scam? And is there just slow times? It seems it’s mostly families looking for homes

Echo Dots for music? Other cheap options for speakers? Or should I just skip speakers altogether?

I ordered some echo dots thinking that it would be a cheap alternative to buying speakers for guests so they have something to connect their phone via Bluetooth or just connect directly to the internet to play music. I'm considering returning them because now that I think about it, I don't want to connect them to my own account, even if I have the ability to turn off purchasing etc... And I have a feeling that tenants would be unwilling to connect to them with their own accounts in fear that they might have issues disconnecting from them.

Are there any other cheap alternatives to providing something that they connect their phones to so they could listen to music or is it better to skip that idea altogether? Thanks for your advice.

Anyone have any rental available [Colorado Springs, CO]

[UPDATE] : I just reverse searched the images on google and found a lot of listing on Airbnb and messaged the landlords there , now I am getting responses, and a lot of them are willing to honor the furnish finder price. So furnish finder messaging might have been the issue. Hope this helps anyone in the future.

Having a hard time finding short term rental within our budget and No one on Furnish finder is responding, but looks like they haven’t even seen our messages. Does anyone know anyone or have any listing for a 30 day short term rental??

We are digital nomads and work remotely, we are residing in Colorado Springs for a bit. Our nephews are coming to visit us so we are looking for a bigger space (2Bed / 2bath House / Apart ) or 3 bed.

Budget is $2300 MAX.
