Bought a 1080 ti strix

I bought this 1080 ti strix thinking it was a good deal but I later found it had been damaged.

The card gets power, fans spin, leds light up but it doesnt communicate.

I tried with my pc with an i7 8700k, rx 580 and my wife's am4 flavored cpu with a 1050ti.

As stated before, it doesnt communicate at all, I cant find it in the display devices even when looking for hidden ones. I cant install a driver for it either since my computer doesnt recognize its existence

Ive tried using DDU but still got nowhere positive

MSI rtx 4080 super- PCB maybe missing parts - No life signs

Voltages:
12VPower: 0 ohm
PCIE: 0 ohm
inductor/coil: 0 ohm

Hello,
I have a MSI rtx 4080 Super Ventus 3X OC , i think my PCB might be missing some parts.
The GPU is not giving any life signs, it apparently has gotten damaged from a fall.
I bought it of an online Marketplace so I can’t give any more of a precise description of the past.
If you guys have any pictures of a 4080S PCB - or can tell by my pictures what could be missing I would be very grateful.
Thanks in Advance.
Greetings from Germany.

Gigabyte GTX 1650 D6 no display output, fans spinning - where should I start diagnosing?

Hello everyone,

I have a Gigabyte GTX 1650 D6 that powers on and the fans spin normally, but there is no display output at all (no BIOS, no signal).

I don't have a multimeter yet, so I haven't been able to check the voltage rails or resistance.

While inspecting the board, I noticed what appears to be heat discoloration or possible previous rework around the R15 inductor and the surrounding components (see attached photo).

Could this area be related to the no display issue? If so, what components should I inspect or measure first once I get a multimeter?

Any advice on the initial troubleshooting process would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Having a difficult time finding places to buy a GPU PCB (GIGABYTE OC RTX 3060TI Non-Eagle version)

I recently bought a broken Gigabyte RTX 3060TI OC in hopes of repairing it. Granted I didn't do very extensive testing but the card powers on but no display. I've looked at device manager to see if the card was at least recognised but it was a dead end. I did attempt a driver install to see if that would do it but it was also a dead end. The screws were rusted and the PCIE lane(?) had some odd dirt or whatever on it (maybe rust as well if that's even possible?) so it's an entirely dead card.

I want to extract the core and dram to put onto a new board but it's actually finding the board is the issue. I've looked on aliexpress but couldn't find any and I'm not entirely sure there are sites that just straight up sell spare gpu parts.

If anyone could point me in the right direction or find the part for me it would be greatly appreciated.

MSI RTX 2070 CODE 43

I'm encountering a "Code 43" error with my RTX 2070. The symptoms are as follows: Upon entering Windows, I experience Blue Screens or blackouts. Occasionally, when it does boot up, the Code 43 error appears, and lines show up on the screen. GPU-Z detects the BIOS, but the memory is reported as 0. What puzzles me is the result from Mats: Running ./mats -e 100 results in a "Pass." Running ./mats -e 200 results in a "Pass." However, running ./mats -e 300 results in a "Fail," showing errors across all "Read" operations. Which command should I use to identify exactly which VRAM module is faulty? There is no screen distortion even when the system is left on the BIOS (F2) screen for several hours.

Zotac 2080TI Artifacting

Kind of a very late update since early 2025, so the VRAM chip that was giving errors was replaced including some cracked capacitors near it were too. The gpu is still artifacting at 1080p and will not load drivers at any circumstance and GPUZ is still reporting no memory. Im forced to troubleshoot via hardware now. There could be a short on the decoupling capacitors to the chip, but I am not sure what to measure in that area. I am afraid that the core may be bad. Any help will be good!

My NVIDIA RTX5060 TI 8GB cant get more than 1537Mhz

I bought it 2 month ago, it was working perfectly. But yesterday some water spilled out from my AC to my hdmi port, about 10-20ml. I see that and turned of the pc and unplugged it. I waited for 10 minutes and tried to turn it, everything worked except my gpu. I unplagged my gpu and I used fan to dry it, it worked; however there was another problem, when I started playing games it gives me only anout 20-40fps, I was shocked bcs usually Im getting 200-400fps. I find out that my gpu cant get more than 1537Mhz meanwhile it is supposed to get 2500-2600Mhz.

What I've tried:

1)Delete my drivers using DDU

2)Download previus drivers

3)Donwloaded clear windows 11

4)Tried to fix it with overclockign(It worked for 10-20 minutes then my pc gets reloading)

Is there any possible way to fix it?

Diagnosing a dying 3070 Founders Edition

Hi everyone! I have been struggling with my very own 3070 FE, it has started going into panic, losing the display output and running the fans at 100% until I manually shut off the PC.

Running memtest_vulkan-v0.5.0 can force a crash, I still need to test with MATS/MODS, but I am not sure whether this is recoverable. I can still use my PC, just that if I run any GPU heavy tasks, the game will freeze/crash or the whole PC will just lose signal and the GPU fans will run at 100%.

I am almost certain moving recently to the other side of the country is what caused this issue, since the GPU worked flawlessly before, I explicitly told the person moving it to transport it horizontally but they drove all the way here (10h30m by car) with the PC sitting vertically, which I can imagine, has made the GPU flex , and either introduced micro fissures to the PCB or broke the connection from the VRAM modules to the PCB itself.

Knowing that, should I bother with any attemps to fix this? Are there any capable techs that could sort this for less than 200€, which is what the GPU costs now? Or should I just take the loss, sell it as non functional and move on

Thanks everyone

GPU unrecognised by Windows in general, Device Manager says Code 43. On Linux it responds.

After a random restart on my Laptop, my GPU has stopped suddenly. Looking at the Device Manager, it says Code 43. I thought my GPU would be dead, so I checked on Linux, yet it seems to be responding. I am unsure of what had happened, as I tried reinstalling my drivers. Now Nvidia says I have no drivers installed. Please help.

need advice Asus rtx 4090's tuf gaming oc, all unknown defects

Hi guys, I need some advice from you experts how to visually inspect these a bunch of other rtx4090's on an offer to buy as defective, with unknown history. My fear is mostly if the gpu chip and or ram has been removed or are they just discarded by stores as rma and had asus replace them. Any pointers besides dodgy re-assembly jobs? Missing screws? That still doenst have to mean it is missing core elements I guess. How would you go about this?

3060 ti founders edition fans not working

i recently bought a 3060 ti fe and the card itself is fine. (boots, takes drivers, has display) the fans never turn on? i did get the card up to 75c and gpu-z says the fans turn on but no rpm data shows just the fan speed percentage. i also got a tech to power the fans separately and both did spin. does anyone have any ideas on what may be wrong with it? or any ideas on alternative fixes?

RX 580 2048SP with corrupted BIOS

Hello everyone, I have an RX 580 2048SP VEINEDA and I wanted to change its BIOS because it was a mining BIOS. I watched some YouTube videos on how to do the process and followed the steps. I backed up the original BIOS using GPU-Z and saved it on my pendrive.

I managed to successfully flash a different BIOS, but the problem was that I couldn’t get my monitor to run at 165Hz in Windows at all — neither in AMD Adrenalin nor anywhere else. That’s when I thought about restoring the original BIOS that I had saved with GPU-Z.

I ran the commands correctly, but it wasn’t working and it showed a “BIOS invalid” error. Then I loaded the original BIOS file into Polaris BIOS Editor, and it showed a warning: “Checksum is non-valid! Please save the file to fix.” From what I understood, something was wrong, but I noticed it said “Save to fix,” so I did exactly that.

I didn’t change anything — I just opened the original BIOS file and clicked save. Then I tried flashing it back to the graphics card using CMD. Everything went fine in CMD, and at the end it asked me to restart the PC to complete the BIOS update.

After restarting, the PC no longer shows any video output. The keyboard doesn’t show Num Lock activity, and the SSD light doesn’t blink either — meaning it’s not even booting into Windows. I don’t have another graphics card, and my processor doesn’t have integrated graphics.

Is there any way to fix this, or is it not possible anymore?

ATI 3650 graphics artifacts

Have an older graphics card with AGP interface. It has artifacts. Only VGA has output. No output on DVI. Artifacts appear on BIOS screen and in Windows safe mode. Cannot start GPU-z in safe mode.

I checked nine capacitors (six regular and three surface mounted) using a multimeter wihout a capacitance mode. Three regular and one surface mounted capacitors don't respond normally to resistance measurement (marked in the last picture).

Questions:

  1. is this type of artifact consistent with capacitor malfunction or something else?

  2. How to properly re-check these capacitors using a multimeter wihout a capacitance mode?

  3. Can surface mounted capacitor be replaced using a regular soldering iron (~4mm size) or requres a specialty soldering iron?

No display after replacing PSU – RX 6600 XT, monitor detects DP cable but goes into power saving

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue after replacing my PSU and I'm running out of ideas.

PC Specs:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT (1x 8-pin PCIe)

- Motherboard: B450M

- New PSU: Silverstone strider 650W 80+ rating bronze

Background:

About a week ago, my PC was working perfectly. Then my old PSU failed, so I replaced it with a new non-modular PSU. Since then, I haven't been able to get any display.

Symptoms:

- The monitor detects when the DisplayPort cable is plugged into the GPU.

- If I unplug the DP cable from the GPU, the monitor says something like "Waiting 5 minutes for you to connect the DP cable."

- When I plug it back into the GPU, the monitor immediately goes into Power Saving Mode.

- So the monitor seems to detect the cable, but it never receives a video signal.

What I've already tried:

- Reseated the GPU.

- Tried both 8-pin connectors on the PCIe cable (it's one cable that splits into two 6+2 connectors).

- Confirmed I'm using the PCIe cable, not the CPU/EPS cable.

- Checked that the GPU power connector is fully inserted.

- CPU fan, case fans, motherboard lights, keyboard, and mouse all power on normally.

- The GPU fans do not spin during boot, but they briefly twitch when I turn the PC off.

Since the Ryzen 5 3600 doesn't have integrated graphics, I can't test through the motherboard video output.

At this point, I'm wondering if:

- the GPU was damaged when the old PSU failed,

- there's still a power issue,

- or something else is preventing POST.

Does anyone have suggestions for what I should test next? Thanks!
