Dead Mall GVC Vibes
Back in the 90’s the Garfield’s restaurant was the place to be at my local mall. It sadly sits empty.
Went to Cheesecake Factory for the first time. What the heck is the aesthetic in there?
First time in this restaurant, and it was such a nostalgic kinda vibe, but didn’t really make sense to me? Any ideas? Color palette was super neutral with lots of browns/oranges, and it almost felt like a kitschy 90’s restaurant.
A funky $4 thrift find in mustard yellow.
I am so confused by this piece. The fabric and embroidery make me think yukata, but the folded collar makes me think kimono. Help? Also, some of the stitching looks machine-done, which also leans towards yukata, as far as I understand. There is also hand-stitchwork.
Also, how fun is the mid-century (I strongly suspect) embroidery?
I can't imagine this is silk, but can't easily access any loose threads for a burn test. Linen? Synthetic?
The Starbucks’ Nespresso’s Coffee Capsules Sleeves’ Art. Modern GVC?
I drink them every morning, and I missed their art! They have a really 90s GVC vibe to them, yet they look modern
