When did you first hear this term "post-punk"?

Even though it was coined in 1977, it feels as though most people didn't hear about it until the 2000s. When I mention it to people they say it was all lumped with New Wave in the 80s.

It's weird to me that some lump Super Furry Animals as Britpop. I know it's barely a genre, but that's like calling Apples in Stereo (if they were British) and Belle & Sebastian Britpop.

Lukewarm take: roughly 2013 is my cutoff for "when pop culture and society were good". I know older users stop at 2000, and younger users stop at 2016 or 2019, but for me it's 2013.

Last year of the Electropop/Recession Pop Era (What Does the Fox Say), last year before the "SJW/anti-SJW" culture war (later called woke/anti-woke), last year flip phones existed alongside smartphones, last fully ubiquitous rock album (3AM by Arctic Monkeys), last year of Frutiger Aero, last Blog Era hip-hop year before tuneless mumble/SoundCloud rap hit big-time. Anything after 2013 (and especially after 2020 COVID and 2022 AI garbage) just feels like "post-culture" like it may as well not exist.

Lukewarm take: S2 was showing a decline in quality and no longer had a dark edge like S1. Eps like Mortos, Girl Who Cried Gnome, Voting of the Doomed, Taster of Pork had this filler-y vibe, like the crew were starting to hate working on the show.

And I'm guessing Nick's execs and censors were starting to breathe down the writers' necks more during this time since it was after 9/11.

Why do people associate Britpop with Blair when most of it was actually under John Major? Blair's era was *Post*-Britpop.

In the Japanese version of Crash 1, Josh Mancell redid the Tawna music because Sony Japan said the original was "too nostalgic-sounding(?)".
