Tickets are now on sale for the "What Do You Do For An Encore?" Screenings

Any others going solo to the Wythenshawe gig?

I’ll be travelling from Dublin and staying in Manchester City centre if anyone else going solo wanted to meet for a drink or something and go as a group !

Found this gem while thrifting yesterday

First time posting here. (Do You Remember The First Time? Haha!) By far my favorite Pulp album, so I’m happy I have it on CD now. I’m really glad I found it :)

pulp demographic survey!

hello everyone!

this may seem quite awkward, but i've been fan of the band for years now & always wanted to lead a survey amongst the fanbase, as im quite interested in either the diversity, but also the common points of the community (as individuals, but also around what might be the consensus for favourite songs or other stuff). i therefore put in shape a formbricks, with firstly demographic questions, then around the band itself (as in, favourite/least favourite songs, albums, etc etc), and lastly more light-hearted questions, just for fun. i would love to get a not too small (ideally quite consequent!) sample of answers, that is why im asking for your help on here :p !

after a while, i would end the study by looking for correlations and more, make a summary out of it & post it online!

it would be such a huge help if you could take some time to answer the survey! from the few data i got, it requires 15-20 mn to complete it. i know that it might be a bit long... i need to get better with survey haha

here is the link if you want to help! https://app.formbricks.com/s/cmsq5q0dz1n9j01u1kwi2lsse

thanks again, take care of yall :)!

Nick Banks child bride?

So, whilst looking through the old Pulp People zines on the pulp wiki website I came across an uncomfortable quote in the opening paragraph of the July/August 1996 edition. "Nick married Sarah, his beautiful child bride.."
Now, I'm an adult and I understand that famous people can do sleazy things and still make good art, but I am curious. How old was she? I checked several online sources on Banks and got nowhere. I am also from the UK, so I understand she may be 16 at the youngest, but still curious if anybody knows the details or if this is just a somewhat dark joke.

I tried adding a screenshot to the post but i get a message saying I need to own all media aspects before I post, sorry, new to reddit. I can link in the comments if anybody is curious too.

Who agrees that this is their best?

I was quite indifferent when I first listened to this album. It doesn't have a Disco 2000 or a Babies that immediately jumps out and grabs you by the balls but the more you listen the more it just sinks its hooks into you. It has such a fresh sound still a quarter of a century on and wouldn't sound out of place at all if it was released today. Different Class for example, and I'm not saying this as a negative or a knock, sounds very much like a 90s album comparatively. I think Cockers lyrics reached a real mature peak here too. I think it's my favourite Pulp album now. Who else agrees?

I built an alt social network where you share the music you love and now "Monday Morning" off of Different Class is trending. Beautiful thing to see!

Hey everyone. I wanted to share with you all a very cool thing! I built a new social network for music called Corus. Essentially, instead of photos/videos like Instagram, you instead share the music you love. Today "Monday Morning" is trending on the app. I'm a huge fan of the track and the album and just thought it was pretty cool that other people have found the app and have good taste. A user named disintegration posted it and the love starting coming in from others. It's awesome to see.

One of the main ideas of the app is to bring back curation and discovering music from people as opposed to the algorithms. So you create your ultimate playlist by sharing, and you get a feed from all that you're following. You can also see all who have shared an artist and you get taste matches with whoever is out there that has shared the same ones. So as you can see above, you can view ELOs artist page and see that already 15 others have shared Pulp songs. Feel free to join and follow me and all the other Pulp lovers. Happy to answer any questions!
