( TRDB ) The BIG Retro Update!
This is a small update so folk can see what’s actually been added to the site.
We’ve brought in three curators now who are actively helping find and add new content. That’s been a big shift for us. It means I’m not buried in every single addition anymore, so I can focus properly on fixing bugs, improving features, and building the next parts of the platform instead of just keeping it afloat day to day. So aye, genuine thanks to them. It makes a difference more than I can properly explain in a single post.
Right, onto the actual update.
We’re now running 14 live channels. That includes a mix of our own curated streams alongside real broadcast channels like POP UK, Tiny Pop UK, Cartoon Network USA, and Nickelodeon USA.
Everything comes with full 24-hour EPG data, so you’re not guessing what’s on or when it’s on. It’s all laid out properly.
On top of that, the library has grown into something a bit ridiculous in size. Over 1,400 films available and more than 40,000 TV episodes. It’s the kind of number that stops making sense after a while. There’s more content in there than most people could realistically get through in years, and it’s still being added to constantly.
We’re also opening things up a bit more.
If you’re into movies and TV, especially retro stuff, we’re looking for people who want to write blog posts for the site. We’re also after contributors who can help add trivia, facts, quotes, and even game cheats where it fits. The idea is simple. Build a proper living database instead of just a static catalogue.
So if you’re into old TV, films you forgot existed, weird trivia rabbit holes, and all that sort of thing, you’ll fit right in.
Podcast with Action League Now director/animator and SpongeBob Season 1 writer David Fain
I host a podcast about animation and editing, and this week I spoke with my friend David Fain, who was a director and animator of Action League Now! About the early days of the show, plus writing on the first season of SpongeBob.
David has worked as a stop-motion animator, director and editor for over 30 years.

Did you prefer the original Rocko’s Modern Life theme song or the B-52’s version?
Original ⬆️
I really love them both. I’m glad we got two versions. All things being equal, I kind of like the original one more. Might be nostalgia, but I just really enjoy the groove.
Of course, I love the other theme song too. And getting the B-52s in your theme song probably got them a lot of street cred with the parents of the kids watching.
Anyone else still sing the original one like I do sometimes?
The Wild Thornberrys made me love animals even more
SNICK Theme Night: Crime & Punishment

Thanks to your votes last week, everyone's in trouble. It's a night of Crime & Punishment tonight on SNICK!
First up, Clarissa steals some sexy lingerie.
Then Alex Mack gets accused of a crime she didn't commit.
Later on Ren & Stimpy, Ren becomes an outlaw before both of them end up in the Big House.
Finally, on Are You Afraid of the Dark, a tour of a rundown prison releases a trapped spirit.
Stay tuned after SNICK for a bonus Nick at Nite episode of Mad Movies featuring none other than Sherlock Holmes as he solves the case of some stolen library books.
Feel free to comment below as you watch it or after you're done. Also, be sure to vote below on what block you want to see next week.

Salute Your Shorts 35th Anniversary Cast Reunion
The shorts are on the pole. The bunks are decorated and ready. The pies are set and it's time for Camp Anawanna! This childhood staple of kids who grew up with Nickelodeon in the early 90s will remember this show, and it's legendary theme song, fondly. Now turning 35 we have some of the cast members joining us in the studio to share memories and stories. Joining us are Venus DeMilo Thomas (Telly Radford), Michael Ray Bower (Eddie 'Donkeylips' Gelfen), Heidi Lukacsik (Dina Alexander), Danny Cooksey (Robert 'Bobby' Budnick) and Megan Mahdavi (Z.Z. Ziff). Along with friends of the podcast Joe Gilpatrick and Clay Prindle, we travel back to the time of Zeke the Plumber, Sara Madre, and the icon that is Kevin 'Ug' Lee. Join us as we talk the 35th anniversary of Salute Your Shorts.
My sister is doing a series with 2000’s Nickelodeon characters and I think they are very cool
She has been playing with a ton of 2000’s characters but I think she is truly figuring it out
Am I the only one who had no idea Jimmy from GTA 5 was voiced and modeled by Danny Tamberelli!? 🤯
youtube.comBonus SNICK: April 9, 1994 (Pete & Pete Hosting)
https://archive.org/details/snick-04-09-94-pete-pete
This is a separate little project from my SNICK Theme Nights. So that's why it's not going up on a Saturday.
This is a full recreation of the April 9, 1994 night of SNICK, which was hosted by Pete & Pete. The existing version on Archive had only about half of the host bumpers, bumpers from others nights inserted instead in places, and truncated credits on a couple episodes.
I was able to find a couple sources on YouTube of the original commercial breaks and host bumpers, plus using some bits of the existing Archive version. So this should be the most complete version of the broadcast available, short of someone having an actual VHS tape of it (which I'm sure someone out there has somewhere).
So, enjoy, you blowholes.
PS: I have another special SNICK night recreation that I'll likely post sometime next week. So stay tuned.
