SNICK IVERSARY RECONSTRUCTION 08 14 93

SNICK IVERSARY RECONSTRUCTION 08 14 93

This is an early draft of a fan-made reconstruction of SNICK's first anniversary broadcast from August 14th, 1993.

The reconstruction was assembled from multipple surviving recordings and archival sources. An earlier reconstruction/source compilation uploaded to the Internet Archive by "joelseph01" was an important source for a number of surviving commercials and broadcast elements here, and I want to thank them for their preservation work and contribution to making this possible.

For this version, higher-quality versions of segments, bumpers, graphics, and other elements have been substituted where available. In some instances, I've had to reconstruct audio from multiple sources to make ending credit voiceovers, incomplete commercials align, multiple sources to complete broadcast segments, ect. The goal is to recreate the original broadcast experience as closely as possible while preserving the character of the surviving material.

This is still a work in progress, and not every portion has been replaced or restored to the highest quality currently available. It will be eventually, and I will share the updated version.

This is also perfectly sized for watching on a CRT, as I've provided it in 720x480 with non-square pixels, and added some space to the edges of the screen to account for overscan

Edit: Shoutout to Mizo_Soup for recreating the mid/late 1993 SNICK screenbug animation for me

[Paid $20] Can anyone recreate this animated 1994 SNICK screen bug?

I've been working on some video edits using old SNICK broadcasts from 1994, and I'd really like to recreate the animated SNICK screen bug they used on-air back then.

This guy has a great clean static PNG of the bug that I've already been using for reference:

It's a pretty simple animation, and I'm not looking for it to be redesigned into something modern. I'd actually like it to look as close to the original 94 broadcast version as possible.

Ideally I'd need it with transparency so I can just drop it over footage in Kdenlive. MOV/WebM with alpha or a PNG sequence would all be fine.

Happy to pay $20 for it.

I've attached the static reference PNG and the original broadcast reference. If anyone here is good with motion graphics and wants to take a shot at it, let me know!

SNICK Archiving: The Hunt Continues

I’ve recently preserved some rare early 90s Nickelodeon material, including complete English-audio sources for a couple of difficult to find Clarissa episodes and high-quality Roundhouse material. I’m especially trying to document or locate any surviving April 16, 1994 SNICK bumpers or commercials from the All That sneak preview night hosted by Melissa Joan Hart. If anyone has recordings, logs, partial commercial breaks, bumpers, or collector leads, I’d love to compare notes.
