Yes there are scumbag men out there, before people accuse me of being misogynistic. But just because I’m a man does not mean I’m out to “destroy” innocent women. I should never ever feel sorry for being born with testicles and a rod. The whole Cornell and Lindsey Clancy bullshit is absolutely disgusting, how leftists and feminazis are blindly supporting it. Was at a gathering a few weeks ago where some of the people there thought “ehh, prison is too hArSh. She needs mEnTaL hELp.” So I have some anxiety issues and take a pill every day. Does that mean I’m justified in strangling my kids? And they clearly would want the husband thrown in prison for 10 consecutive life sentences if he did it, and freak out when anyone mentions his mental health.

And now the Cornell thing. I refuse to discuss this with my family who are mostly liberals. They are all obviously siding with her. At least my mom does not support Lindsey. But I am not putting myself in the middle of that conversation. I keep hearing about “every day is men’s day, we live in a MAN’s world …” then how come women have an entire month of dedication? And also, another full month for breast cancer awareness? I’m not trying to be misogynist. Honest. My own mom (and my aunt) had breast cancer and survived. But if I were a woman, I’d be pretty damn happy with everything I had. And I would shut down anyone who is trying to justify these two See You Next Tuesdays. If she puts herself in that type of situation, it’s all on her. I’d do the same thing if it were me, and I have before. All my own stupid fault.

How long do you think it would’ve lasted if the creators and producers were able to put aside their differences and go on with season 2? I heard a rumor that they were planning some sort of crossover with the Alston family on Gullah Gullah Island and I think that would’ve been pretty fun to see. The sets were right next to each other. Interesting how the only one with a consistent acting career is Jim R. Coleman. The argument between the higher ups must have been pretty serious if they were like “THATS IT!!!! SCREW THE CONTRACTS!!!! CANCEL THE SHOW!!!” (Hiiii-YAH.)

Miss Piggy shouts the same thing in Muppets Take Manhattan and karate chops Kermit lol. I’m also sure had MBaM been a multi season hit, they would’ve shown up on Kenan & Kel but why would the Parkers go to Chicago if they live in the Carolinas? I want to hear the whole story about that meeting between the higher ups. I also heard the producers were very difficult. Hope they weren’t too hard on the kids, and no, Mr. S was nowhere around there just yet, so, yeah.

Mother’s Day when Chas sees Chuckie with the picture of Melinda is right on up there but for some reason, watching the last few minutes just makes me smile and maybe shed a single tear. I’m sure all the voice actors were sobbing during the table read.

I think one that I probably won’t be able to watch again without crying is Slumber Party. It’s so relatable. 2 days after Christmas last year, I got my first bout of flu since I was a teenager, and now I’m 37. Fever, throwing up, cough, even had to call off work for 2 extra days (I was planning on going back after being off for Christmas lol) which never ever happens. I kept thinking about that damn improvised lullaby from Stu and Didi and it was making me super emotional. My partner also got the flu and a pretty high fever right as mine was breaking, and I couldn’t get that whole lullaby scene out of my head and it was making me a blubbering wreck, mainly because I was still on the mend from my flu, and I stayed up with him until he managed to fall asleep. Anyone else feel that way about that episode? It’s also the music as well. I’ll admit, the episode of Bluey where Bingo has the dream where she’s flying towards the sun also turned me into a mess the very first time I watched it with my young nephew.

A lot of the jokes in the Lamb Chop episode but I still wonder what CC means by “Aww Niles is bonding with the sheep, not the first time I’m sure.” Is it supposed to be dirty? Did the term “sheep” exist back then, as a term for a goody two shoes who follows every single rule?

Like I said in a previous post, I added the lost Lucy scene and put part 1 and part 2 in the correct order. But I read that there was an additional scene that only aired once and it had something to do with Val. I notice this with a lot of 2 parters in sitcoms when they air as one long one originally, and then get edited into 2. Something is ALWAYS cut. Really hope the finale isn’t missing anything. I remember they would show the edited 2 parts on Lifetime (where it basically ends Part 1 as the family walked into the hospital lobby and Yetta is at the vending machine), and then one time they even showed the part where CC nervously hums along to the Burt Bacharach elevator music, which was in the original hour long edit.

Can anyone confirm if the original Wedding airing had an extra scene with Val in it? Thank God for the Lucy scene being found. I even remember on cable years ago, they would describe this episode as Fran having a dream involving Lucy. When it only aired once … I also wonder what happened during the taping because Niles got a haircut during the scene with Sarah’s ghost. Was this added at the last second and taped at a later date?

To anyone who has the uncut fan made restorations, what are your thoughts on this one? I mean … it was something really different than the normal formula that no other sitcom really ever did. The musical acts were pretty good, and I’m really surprised I don’t remember hearing any of those songs when they were actual top 40 hits. I liked the Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth peformances. And, something about Uncle Kracker has always bugged me. I would totally pay money to see Oswald and Lewis standing off to the side in those gold jumpsuits saying “SheDAISY … SheDAISY …” 🤣 Very nice HD video quality for 2001 too.

Funniest skit was definitely the one with the exploding pants, and the fact that there is a blooper during the credits makes it even more perfect.

Was very surprised to see Amanda Bynes too. As someone who was raised on 90s/early 2000s Nickelodeon and was a fan of All That.

Fun episode even though it was not a “normal” one. The skit with the talking zit weirded me out. I have a very weird thing about that sort of thing. Same with the “man in the moon” when Drew was having cyber sex with Mimi and he didn’t know it. Doesn’t sit right at all. Looked like the same makeup/costume thing as the moon. And glad Drew was able to recover from his mini heart attack in time to tape this one.

Also, if Disney wanted the Microwave scenes removed in 2006 when the DVD came out, does this mean the scenes aired frequently in syndication? Where they can be slightly higher quality? Does anyone know for sure? I’d like to see it in slightly higher quality, especially the sound. It’s hard to tell what Sophia says. I can just barely make out “not even Cup o Noodles.”

And I’m dying on that hill. Just … how is it perfectly ok that she killed her babies just because of a man, and her “post partum?” I’m also really sick of this man-hating from all the feminists. I most certainly do not HATE women, I just don’t like how society gives them a pass for pretty much everything, and make it ok to trash guys who literally don’t even do anything wrong. Afraid to ask but who are some famous people that are blindly on Lindsey’s side?

Been watching it again for the last week in honor of Tim Curry. I enjoyed almost all of the episodes except for a few. I hate the shark/dolphin episode. God, poor Debbie. 😭 I feel bad for the family in the Christmas episode too but the end with all the “singing” animals does … sort of …make up for it. Eliza was just trying to save Darwin. I don’t blame Debbie for getting angry though. As I’ve gotten older, I get more and more stressed out about Christmas and haven’t really had a great one in a very long time.

I love the Island Trade episode, with Nigel and Marianne having to switch roles. I would’ve been cracking up in the recording studio hearing Tim Curry pretend to have a bad cold in that Nigel voice lol. “And … (sneezes) aCtiOn!!! 🤧”

And every time there’s a lightning storm, I go “woah, LIGHTNING!!” like Debbie does in the episode where the Thornberrys meet the Australian family and play that board game.

I also remember watching the episode with the marmosets when I was 10, and me and my sister were cracking up the entire time at Nigel and Marianne up in the trees.

I also saw (for presumably the first time) yesterday, the episode where Eliza wants to save the penguin and her chick, and Marianne sings disco at this karaoke restaurant. I swear I never saw that one before. But for some reason I remember Marianne throwing the coffee out the window and it immediately freezing. I think when it originally aired, we had a really bad ice storm and lost power so no wonder I missed it.

What are your favorite/least favorite episodes and moments that still crack you up years later?

How many of you actually remember that? Scott mentioned it earlier on the live WHAM broadcast. I was 9 and just about to start 4th grade. I remember how hot and humid and sticky it was the day before. And the really “weird” lightning once the storm
hit. My mom said the wind sounded like a freight train. Luckily there weren’t too many branches or even trees down on our street and we didn’t lose power. My grandma wanted to go play Bingo with us the next morning and at the Bingo hall, the fire alarm was going off when we got there. Definitely a result of power surges. Then the next few days were all about the storm cleanup on the news. It’s a good thing that it was overnight while the State Fair was closed for the night but I did hear about the two people who died sleeping in trailers. We had gone to the fair the week before.

I don’t know if the line that came through tonight was almost as bad as the one in 98 but it was pretty nerve wracking. The 98 one was just after midnight and seemed to come out of nowhere.

I wonder what happened during that summer, in Lucy Carmichael’s universe in Danfield. Like, was Lucy already toying with moving to LA to be closer to Chris, and then Viv went on a blind date and came home that same night, suddenly engaged? lol. Poor Lucy probably had to SCRAMBLE to sell that house and find an apartment in LA, and a bank job. Plus Jerry wanted to join the military academy in LA. I wonder if all these things happened within a few days of each other and before you knew it, Lucy was carrying the last item of furniture out of the Danfield house. Did Viv already decide she was leaving while in the middle of season 3? If so, why couldn’t they rewrite an episode or 2, to give her a proper send off and Lucy selling the house?

Sort of reminds me of Gimme a Break’s final season but they had a couple episodes at the beginning explaining why Nell and Addy were going to sell the house and move to New York. Felt like a spinoff in the last season. Totally new characters and a new setting, and the original 3 girls written off. And the Golden Palace spinoff as well but at least we saw Dorothy get married and move out. I wish we could’ve seen Blanche suddenly getting the idea to buy the hotel on the beach and putting the house up for sale. Sad to see the house at the start of the Pilot pretty much totally empty.

I actually really love this special. I remember tuning in when it first debuted in August 2001. And at the time, had no idea who Betty White was! Lol. Donnie’s backstory is pretty heartbreaking but also reminds me of Tarzan. How Tarzan’s parents were living in the jungle and got murdered, leaving the baby boy to be raised by monkeys. I rewatched this one after 23 years after last seeing it sometime in late 2003 before heading off to school one morning.

There are a couple parts that I don’t remember at all which is weird because I remember pretty much everything else. Darwin crying in the rain because he felt guilty about the things he said about Donnie, and the family rushing to get the orangutan tape uploaded before time runs out. Did Nickelodeon edit some stuff out when they replayed it? I seem to recall that it aired all as one long episode, and on DVD it’s split into 4 parts.

One thing that’s always stayed with me is when Eliza is sleeping up in the tree and she thinks she had a dream about Donnie, when in reality he was next to her before the orangutan picked him up.

I found a bootleg “bluray” set on eBay and yes the quality is great and I am lucky that they are all the complete episodes, with the ending tag included. Except one … The Cold War. I did manage to find the full 24 minute cut by doing an Internet search. It’s not the same quality as the iTunes releases (it has the orange Nick screen bug on the top left corner) but at least it’s uncut. On Paramount+, there are a couple of edited episodes. I believe Corporate Kenan is one of them. Why is this a thing?

It makes no sense watching the edited Cold War episode, since it cuts out Kenan’s “explanation” as to why Kyra was randomly making dinner. And why they were awake in the middle of the night, throwing all these random ingredients together to make a cure. Glad I have these on physical media and not edited streaming prints.

I love that!!! It’s interesting knowing how there wasn’t a very big budget, but they were somehow able to afford the animated bits. I don’t recall, but was this part of the opening intros from season 3-6? I am only familiar with the act break animation “time out for Instant Sanka” and whatever the other ones were for those seasons.

This is the second time I’m reading it on the Internet Archive but I may get a physical copy. I love it, especially when he talks about when he and Lucille first got together. (Her sassiness lol) But there’s a line that I remember he wrote that I can’t remember and it’s driving me crazy. When he joined the Army, he said something about the guys thinking you’d be gay if you weren’t with a lady. He used a term, definitely wasn’t the term for British cigarettes but I think fruit or fairy? I tried searching in the search box and nothing came up around the Army section. Still, wild that it was a thing to be accused of even in the 40s lol. And when he talks about going to the sperm doctor! Anyone know what line from the book?

It’s really irritating how all these “Steve was a creepy STALKER” people just totally ignore the stuff Myra did, or keep making excuses to defend her. I know it was the 90s but what she did to him was not funny and I don’t care if it was a girl doing it to a guy. It’s NOT FUNNY. Myrtle trying to force herself onto Eddie was super messed up too.

And I don’t want to hear the “well Myra WAS nice until Steve REJECTED her for Laura” excuses. Did Steve do any of that stuff when Laura kept rejecting him? No. But yeah he couldn’t take no for an answer and would constantly barge into the Winslow’s house and nearly destroy it. And then ask “did I do thaaaaaat?” He was just a horny teenage boy whose parents hated him! Can any of these Steve haters actually find examples during the series of him doing something far worse than putting surveillance cameras in Laura’s room? Or shoving her into a locker? Because they clearly don’t want to, they just want to always be right.

I haven’t seen it literally since what, November of 1997 and I still remember it. It plays Rock a bye Baby as it shows shots of the kids falling asleep, including Phil and Lil from the Heatwave episode. Then the announcer quietly sings “here come the Rugrats …” and he starts shouting all the characters names one of which is Cynthia the Doll, and it shows a shot of Angelica waving Cynthia in Didi’s face from the Psychic episode. Part of me thinks the announcer sounded like Chris Phillips (aka Face, brr brr brrrrr) but now that I think of it, it was likely the other deep voiced announcer who did most of the “up next” VOs during the end credits. I’d love to see this promo again and I can’t find it in any commercial breaks from that time. I also think it was a 15 second promo rather than the standard 30 seconds.
