Kurt from Good Burger … what was his deal?

I kind of wish there was a back story for Kurt. There probably is somewhere, and I’m sure one of the writers of the movie has it in his archives. What do you think his childhood was like? Something traumatic must have happened to him, for him to start referring to himself in the 3rd person. That doesn’t just happen out of nowhere. It makes me giggle picturing a young 6 year old Kurt on the playground getting bullied, and he suddenly huffs up and starts going “YOU APOLOGIZE TO KURT!!! KURT IS GONNA PUT YOU IN THE … the … 🤔 GRINDER!”

His dad probably used that as a threat, like “I’m gonna throw all these toys in the GRINDER if you don’t clean your room!” His mother probably put it in his head that he could make millions of dollars or something.

Also, how come there isn’t one single interview from Jan S about playing such an iconic villain? If there is, please send me the link. He was probably a super nice guy on the set. I also wish the blooper reel was available. I bet they couldn’t get through the “if anyone can get the sauce out of Ed” line without cracking up. Too bad we’ll never get an interview now … 😔 I wonder if they even asked Jan to make a cameo in the sequel, as he probably was still healthy when they filmed it. Can anyone confirm?

Bodycam videos where the cops actually side with the man

Been watching a lot of bodycam videos on YouTube lately and it warms my heart seeing good guys get justice against psychotic and abusive See You next Tuesdays. This wasn’t really a thing 15-20 years ago, and even with CCTV cams, the guy still got totally screwed over. Do hardcore feminists actually see these and think “wow, I guess we’re not that great”? Or do they immediately jump into “it’s A.I./hE stArtEd iT” bullshit? They should also see the amount of “mothers” that clearly don’t care about their kids. Oh but it’s always the husbands fault that she conveniently forgot about the baby in the back seat of the car. /s 🙄🤦‍♂️

More blue haired feminazis need to be forced to watch these videos, and unable to run away or cover their ears. And if they even try to say it’s AI, or “staged,” then they get instantly proven wrong. Sorry that this stuff didn’t exist way back in the day when it was only women who got oppressed and nobody else’s lives mattered. That’s probably why they see red whenever a man gets proven innocent.

Best Lucy documentary?

There have been several over the years. I’m most familiar with Lucy & Desi a Home Movie, Finding Lucy, and the E! True Hollywood Story that came out in the spring of 2005. Also, the more recent one that featured Lucie Arnaz talking about Desi’s final 48 hours.

I had Finding Lucy on VHS and I can’t tell you the amount of time I spent in my bedroom as a teenager, sitting and watching it on my little 13 inch color TV with a VCR hookup. Because this was several years before smartphones and YouTube 🤣

As much as I enjoyed Finding Lucy, and I honestly don’t recall the last time I watched it, I think Home Movie is my favorite. The soundtrack for one thing, interviews from Lucie Arnaz and Desi Jr., and the final minutes. Lucille and Desi Sr. in the pool playing with their baby grandson. The way she gently brushes the hair out of Desi’s eyes … it’s so sweet. The love never died. Him singing the I Love Lucy theme song over slowed down pool footage was the perfect way to end it. I also just realized Lucie and Desi Jr. weren’t even interviewed for Finding Lucy. I wonder how much involvement they had in it. It originally aired on PBS. Was Home Movie released in local theatres or televised? I wonder if documentaries having local theater showings is more of a recent thing. Saw the Fred Rogers and Shari Lewis docs at one.

Just visited the Lucy Desi museum

After literally 20 summers. I was 17 in July 2006 the last time I was there. Got to do the photo op on the set and everything. Sadly wasn’t allowed to walk around on the set of the Hollywood hotel. 🙁 I think they did switch some things around. I distinctly remember a photo of Lucy and Desi with the kids, playing with balloons. I also could’ve sworn Lucy’s famous Job Switching/TV Commercial dress was on display but that must have been at the Universal Studios Lucy museum in Orlando FL. Anyone know where I can find that particular photo of Lucy, Desi and the kids playing with the balloons?

All the stuff that’s been preserved though … it is so neat. Vivian’s shoes from her Women from Mars costume, Lucy’s Queen of the Gypsies necklace, Desi’s green office chair, Lucy’s wig that she wore in Mame, even the Three Headed Monster editing machine!!! So many priceless Desilu artifacts! I don’t even remember her car being there! That must have been added later, since the registration says 2008 and I was there in 2006. I got myself a “Honey I’m Home” coffee mug with the cartoon caricatures of Lucy and Ricky on it.

Also, since the sets are basically as accurately colored as possible, why can’t more episodes be colorized? I get it, it totally ruins the cinematography. I do kind of wish the original season 1-2 apartment was replicated and I wonder if someday it will be. I love that the museum is a 2.5 hour day trip from where I live. I also don’t remember there being two different sections the last time, one talks about Lucy and Desi’s early years, and the other is more about the shows and the studio itself.

Why is being anti abortion (or neutral) such a bad thing?

Like, ffs, with the most recent thing I saw about “live abortion,” and bloodthirsty dems cheering it on in the background, how can anyone find this ok? Saw the clip on LibsofReddit and how disgusted people were, of course I can’t comment on it because the mods suck and banned me. I understand in some extreme cases that it should happen. Really. If the fetus is a stillborn mainly, or if it has a very low chance of being carried to full term. But if someone is against the principle, why is that worth “canceling” them over? Friend of ours’ daughter got pregnant a few months ago and right off the bat, the doctor said it was an extremely low chance of her carrying past the first term, and a very high chance of having a stillborn. She wanted to keep it. Unfortunately she lost it 2 months in. I didn’t have a meltdown over her choice to keep it and neither did my other friends. It is a bummer but it was a very complicated pregnancy to begin with.

I don’t understand why all these white liberal Karens decided to freak out and protest over Roe Vs Wade’s demise in 2022. Just shows you who they really are deep down.

Will the Lucy Show and Here’s Lucy ever get blu ray releases?

There are several sitcoms from the 1960s that have HD remasters. Not just upscaling but full remasters. Don’t get me wrong, the Lucy releases are great quality and Here’s Lucy was restored from the original negatives, but is there a chance we’ll see them in HD someday? I remember years and years ago when Bluray was becoming the new thing and they released the first season of I Love Lucy on Bluray and I’m like “how much clearer can they possibly get these? They look good enough!” Until I got my large 55-60 inch TV. Now I get it! Also, I am fully aware that season 3-6 of I Love Lucy were AI upscaled and not from the actual negative with the original commercials. But they still look pretty crisp and clear. (Except for the obvious AI in the first episode of LDCH) Did they not have the budget to properly scan them? Imagine if Life with Lucy was in full HD 🤣😹

There are some shows that will never get an HD remaster, even though they were shot on film. The Brady Bunch is one of them. I feel like I heard the original negatives got destroyed or something. And Emergency! which aired on NBC in the 70s. The DVD releases are less than stellar quality like they were ripped from a VHS tape. But, lucky the uncut full length episodes are available at all.

Moments where you know Helga’s “girlhood trembled” at Arnold

I’m just imagining moments where if Helga was secretly watching, she would’ve done her signature swoon. I wonder if she was at the Synchronized Swimming competition and saw Arnold in his speedo 😆 She would’ve definitely died if she overheard Arnold singing “You are my Sunshine” to Glueboy. Or the talent show where Arnold sings the Dino Spumoni song 🤣

I hope people are finally waking the hell up about that fake ass “doctor”

Like, people are “normal” again and it’s been fine for the last couple of years but you know they still insist that they were 100% “right” and refuse to budge, because they HAVE to be victims. I don’t know what more they need to be proven totally wrong and made to feel like pathetic dumbasses. I’ve obviously grown a lot since then, and I feel better than I did back then, and am desperately trying to leave it in 2020-21, unlike some people who keep bringing it up as if people were just dropping like flies in the streets. They should’ve lived through a time where medicine barely existed (or it was more natural home remedies) and there were all sorts of extremely deadly plagues.

They don’t care about the people who had to die alone in the hospital, or the hs kids who got gypped out of the remainder of their senior years. And graduations and proms/balls. Nope, all they wanted was to be “in charge” and be “heroes.” And I would’ve just not gone to my graduation if we had to wait a full YEAR. Which wasn’t even enough even after the first jab. Don’t get me started on all those dancing nurses either, or the “vaccine dance” on Colbert. I hate how people keep making excuses for them. If it was really that serious, nobody would be dancing or selling masks with cartoon characters on them.

I also have an aunt who is mentally handicapped and can’t really speak, and I feel so bad for her that she couldn’t speak for herself when the caretakers at her group home were like “yup you have cOviD.” Same with little toddlers. It makes me so sick to my stomach.

What are some obvious lies that the left are screaming about?

I heard one recently where apparently, the bad bad Orange man wants to completely do away with HIPPA laws. Like he just simply has the power to do that? Come on. Those exist for a reason. Any other ones that would make the left short circuit and stomp off all angry when they clearly can’t come up with a legitimate source to back their “facts” up? Yes I GET IT about the potus and how he’s a jackass. But the libs will just scream about whatever, so they can be “right” once again. 🤦‍♂️

How true is the latest “orange man bad” report?

I heard on TikTok yesterday (I wasn’t the one who was watching) that the Pres wants to make all private medical records public, which is highly illegal. And something about “blaming a tree” if the kid falls out and breaks his arm. Please tell me this was totally fake bullshit from a news source that is far from trustworthy? Because that’s seriously illegal. I don’t remember where the lady even said this news item was from. I absolutely cannot stand annoying people like that in those stupid videos. Even if the report is 100% true.

Looking for a BusyTown short that often aired on Nick Jr.

I know for a fact that it was not part of the regular series. This aired somewhere around 1994-1995, in between shows. It was a minute or two minute long short that had narration. This one in particular had to do with Mr. Frumble the Pig, driving his car. The narration sounded like a young woman, and all I really remember is her saying “don’t you think?” I haven’t seen it since around that time but I remember liking this short. Can anyone help identify it?

I absolutely loved the BWoRS. I remember several episodes. The one where Frumble bought a raffle ticket to win free donuts and the winning number was 191 but he was looking at it upside down and thought his ticket was 161. And the one where Henrietta wanted to stage her own play and everything kept going wrong including Huckle’s costume ripping. 😂 Also, the short musical segment that took place in an elevator and Huckle wonders why it wasn’t moving, to which Lowly says he forgot to press the button and Huckle simply gasps. 🤣

Is there a way to remove small sections of unwashed emulsion?

I exposed several images onto my screen and most of them came out pretty clear. But on a couple, very small sections got overexposed while maybe 95% of the image fully washed out. I want to take some emulsion remover and dip a Q-tip into it and rub it on the stubborn sections. I’m afraid to use something sharp like a toothpick to scrape it away because it would obviously rip it. Is the QTip dipping a good idea? One of the spots on my image is a more open spot of mesh, and has some leftover specks of emulsion so it shouldn’t affect the rest of the image. Anyone have an idea who can help? I’m pretty happy with most of my results at least. I just want to get rid of those tiny little spots that didn’t fully wash away.

How Nickelodeon is still a channel, I’ll never know

I say that about a lot of cable networks but I think they still only exist for our parents who are more than likely retired (aka, mine.) Is the current Disney Channel considered better than Nick? I know they show Bluey and Mickey Mouse FunHouse a lot, based on my last trip to Disney World and staying in a hotel with cable. We were so blessed to have 90s Nickelodeon, even very early 2000s. So much variety, and shows for everyone to enjoy even my mom and dad. And they put so much creativity into the bumpers. May as well just call it SpongeLodeon now. Yes I know I’m way WAY out of the target age group as I’m 37. But how much longer can it hold on if it only has about 3 shows total?

Meanwhile I have my digital Plug n Play USB collections of all my favorite old shows and it doesn’t even include JUST Nickelodeon. With zero ads, no Internet reliability, no randomly yoinking away shows even when you ”purchase” the episodes … it’s heaven! 😆 Did I mention no ads? I don’t know how people can fully rely on a streaming service. I used to be in love with Hulu but then I figured why not just rip all my physical media to digital so I don’t get bombarded with annoying ads?

Never realized how miserable Jim actually was

From his recent podcast interview, its so sad how unhappy Jim Parsons was during the height of his fame. Now that I look back, he did seem a little … low energy in interviews. Not super peppy or energetic but that had to just be his normal persona. I’m happy he had some moments of joy and laughter especially in the bloopers, and he appreciates Sheldon more and more now, but wow. At least he was upfront and honest about his feelings. I mean if I had to memorize all those lines and play such a complex character, and the show was a massive success, I’d be extremely stressed out too. I really hope he didn’t have too many issues on the set, or take it out on any of his cast mates.

Jim Lang music cues that you wish were released

I LOVE how there’s a Hey Arnold soundtrack with a good majority of background tracks composed by Jim Lang. But what are some that you wish were released?

Geek Party background music, been hoping for this one for years

That “dun … dun duuuuun ‘shocked trumpet’“cue thats often heard when something goes horribly wrong. Like when Miriam leaves her purse on top of the car, the kids discovering Gerald Field got taken over by the adults, the dog smelling the cold cuts in the mailbox in Eugene’s Birthday …

The music that plays when Sid is rearranging “his” room to fool Lorenzo

That Church organ music that plays in the background when Gerald tries to call out the class for refusing to believe Arnold about the bag of money

That country music that plays during Miriam riding the mechanical bull and the montage of Mr. Hyunh on his country music tour. I know most of it can be heard with no talking especially at the beginning of The Racing Mule but I wish it was on the soundtrack

The music that plays when Arnold finds the photo album of Phil and Mitzi as children, and of course Pooter the dog

I wish these were all on the album!

Bloopers and outtakes from season 3 and beyond?

On the Podcast, they keep mentioning how certain scenes took multiple takes because the actors kept breaking. One of which was Gail Edwards constantly flubbing her “chocolate sauce” line and everybody at the table laughing at the cheese from a Goat line. The majority of outtakes from Full House are from season 2, with maybe 1 or 2 from season 4. I remember the one where one of the Olsen Twins actually helps Dave remember his line about the missing wedding ring, and then another during the wedding itself. Did it cost THAT much extra money to put them over the end credits? I love how at least Home Improvement had Bloopers after basically every episode. They must have had enough money to put the additional footage over the end credits as it was the number 1 sitcom on ABC in 1993-94. I wish someone had a full blooper tape from every season. I bet they’re hysterical. I would love seeing Bob failing to keep it together every time nuts are mentioned.

Question about the series finale

In Jaleel’s book, he talks about taking the final curtain call and choking back tears because it was the last time they’d all be together for a long time and he was done playing Steve. And I believe this is where he also mentions the other cast members making their final decisions not to come back. But other sources act like they were expecting to come back for the 10th and final season, and CBS started dismantling the sets before everyone realized “oh! I guess this means we’re canceled.” I also read somewhere that they called Reginald over the summer hiatus to come clean out his dressing room. So did they really know it was the end? Or was this a big surprise? And does anyone know the exact dates that they ended production? It had to be March 6 (pt 1) and 13th (pt 2) 1998 but I could be wrong. I remember exactly where I was on those days. It’s also super impressive that nobody flubbed any lines and they got through it very fast. Kinda sad that there were no tearful goodbyes or even a cast party. They just … took a last look and left.

Rocko Magic Meatball episode

It took me years to realize Ed was hallucinating the entire thing 😆🤣 I thought once the sentient meatball realized the “marriage” was a sham, he instantly reverted back to just a broken inanimate novelty item. What was Ed actually doing when he was imagining getting pies thrown at his face? And where did he find a meatball sized bridal gown? 😆🤣

I’m imagining the crew at the studio saying Ed ate some magic mushrooms on the side. It’s so ridiculous. We were so lucky to have 90s Nickelodeon on our TV screens when we were kids.

Yellow mesh requires longer exposure times?

Hope someone can help me. I’m trying not to rip my hair out in frustration but I read that exposure on a yellow mesh screen requires longer times. But when I tried doing some tests recently, my 21 step strip indicated that I slightly overexposed, even though I did all of the tests for under 25 seconds or less. They didn’t all immediately wash out so that means yes I went about 10 seconds too long. I did the calculations and I definitely have to decrease ever so slightly. Is this common for yellow mesh to actually have to decrease? My images aren’t huge. Only 3x3 so they easily fit on a balloon and stretch as the balloon gets larger. Not overly detailed either. Got solvent resistant emulsion (for ink that will go on latex and dry quickly) and it’s on a yellow 200 mesh screen. 50 watt light from Amazon that’s about 7 or 8 inches above screen. I did the multiplications and all my images should be exposed at 8-10 seconds. Does that sound normal for yellow 200?

And I am washing them out with a garden sprayer that has a good amount of pressure. Nothing that will blow holes into the screen but way better than a weak shower or sink sprayer. I know I have to spray with my mister bottle to start the process before fully washing it out.

Parents Day vs The Journal?

I don’t know which one is more emotional. I still get a lump in my throat watching the scene where Stella gives birth to Arnold, and when Miles is writing in his journal and sketching the drawing of a sleeping Arnold. But Parents day definitely hits hard as well. Poor kid was so hurt by Bob’s comment, and then the scene where Arnold doesn’t even want dessert. I know Helga didn’t really help the situation even though she was still like “dad … wtf?!” But I LOVE how she secretly wanted Phil to beat Bob in the jousting competition. Plus, the soundtrack is so beautiful, especially in his dream. I still think about the whole exchange of “they never came back, never heard from them again … and their plane was never found.” And Arnold sounds hopeful that someday they might come back even though they just might be lost, and Phil says Arnold really is growing up.

Both episodes are amazing and I wish they aired The Journal as the real series finale, as it was the final one produced in 2001.
