Tickets for Jim Lang/Hey Arnold band performances

Little confused with ticket rollout and sales for these shows

The NYC show isn’t listed anywhere else but the venues website. I’ve also noticed Ticketmaster only has 10 of the shows listed.

Is today only pre sale and more are coming Friday? Been trying to find more info, any help appreciated!

Hey Arnold Live! Jim Lang and the PS 118 All Stars LA Show Discussion Thread

Just got back from the show and this is the thread to discuss and share your thoughts, experiences, and news regarding the upcoming tour.

Loved the show and it was an amazing experience, especially with these small venues. They announced the tour and that tickets will be on sale today (8/19). Also, they announced that they will continue to tour next year and go to cities that they missed for this upcoming tour.

Got this shirt from the merch store for $40. Other than that, can’t wait to catch them again in LA when they close out the tour!

Jim Lang and PS 118 All Stars Tour announced!

I posted an LA show awhile back, but just checked and Jim Lang and his band are doing a whole US tour now. I would check out their IG and see if they’re going to your city!

What is With Arnold’s Couch?

I’m just saying, there’s ample space there for a couch to just be. And who installed this thing? Grandpa?

Also, now it’s bothering me that the only gif I can find has the couch on the wrong side of the door. Tawk amongst yourselves.

Hey Arnold revival

Hello Football head fans,

Earlier a user (who I won't name) posted a link to a revival Hey Arnold article by "The Direct"

Unfortunately rumors are flying from one single article. There is a lot people closest to Craig Bartlett who are saying these rumors are not true.

I deleted the other Reddit post because I don't want people to get their hopes up and to believe in the rumor.

However, if something does change and we get a real confirmation that it's the real deal. I or one of the other mods will post it.

Was "Madame Fortress Mommy" a children version of M-word?

Harold often said "Madam Fortress Mommy" whenever he mocked someone or annoyed.
Was that meant to be children of M-word?
I find it bizarre that Harold only said that word.
I think I should use that as password. lol

Hey Arnold has always been "Woke"

Hey Football head Fans,

I've been seeing a lot of discussions about people not wanting Hey Arnold to ever be "woke" and since the rumor about a revival came out (which the voice actor of Harold has stated is just a rumor for now) I decided to throw my two cents on the subject.

Not sure if we watched the same show but I will break down some things:

Arnold grows up in a multicultural, boarding house, surrounded by immigrants and people from very different backgrounds and yet he treats them as family, not as “outsiders.”

Poverty and struggling are normalized in the show than having someone simply being lazy or deserving their situation.

★ Arnold is basically a humanitarian: empathetic, compassionate, and constantly trying to help people even when he gets nothing out of it. (Sure it's due to his abandonment issues and people pleasing tendencies but still it is what Arnold has become especially in the later seasons)

★ The show regularly tackled immigration, homelessness, bullying, LGBQ+, disability, family dysfunction, poverty, addiction without turning every episode into a lecture or shoveling things down your throat.

Examples:

Addiction:
Miriam's Smoothies / Chocolate boy

Disability:
Murray (Hey Arnold the movie)

Poverty:
Arnold lives in a run down boarding house, we constantly see what they eat, the repairs they have to do around the house. We see all the apartments and plumbing issues. In the episode "Rhonda goes broke" you can see the state of the boarding house. It's very run down and there are rats in the house.

I'm not going to list everything here but you get my point.

★ Arnold’s worldview is almost Buddhist in spirit: compassion, patience, forgiveness, nonviolence, and trying to understand why people behave the way they do.

★ Even characters who behave badly are often given context and humanity rather than being reduced to 1 dimensional bullies or villains (a quote from Harold in the jungle movie even proves this. "I use to be a 1 dimensional bully")

★ Hey Arnold has and will always be "woke" and again, maybe we weren't watching the same show. I saw a nine year old who was wise beyond his years do something most adults don't do. Understand people and their struggles despite who they are, where they come from. He helped them, give advice and listened to their problems.

Highway overpass appreciation post

The overpass in Arnold’s neighborhood that passes over/behind the boarding house is a subtle but wonderful piece of urban architecture that really gives the show a ton of its unique charm. It’s featured in so many classic scenes and episodes. One of my favorite scenes is in Little Pink Book when onlookers standing on the overpass look down and laugh about Gerald’s reading of a love poem.
The overpass quietly signifies when a scene is somewhere in Arnold’s neighborhood. It gives the urban setting a sense of verticality, like there is life going on all around and even above Arnold and his friends that adds to the cozy lived-in feeling of the show’s setting. The overpass almost feels like a beloved character in itself.

TL;DR
The overpass is a great signature piece of Hey Arnold’s cozy urban atmosphere

Does anyone else feel this way about hey Arnold?

This is the only show I've ever watched that was semi therapeutic to watch. The music was relaxing and the characters has those slow down reflection moments that we don't see a lot in modern cartoons. I don't watch hey Arnold very often (maybe like 2-3 times a year) but every time I do I feel like I went to a heavy therapy session. Idk if I'm weird for this.

Reminiscing

Rewatching Hey Arnold! Mind you, I haven't watched this show since the early 2000s & I'm 36 so I'm looking at the cartoon w/ different lens & a different mind frame.

It's crazy how I didn't realize how was these kids able to roam around the streets(NY street like)at age 9 w/ no parental supervision?

The boarding house renting "rooms" to residents. How did some of the residents have a living room & a kitchen w/ a working sink(thinking about Hyunn when the kids were made to fix stuff around his place. Even Arnie had a nice size high ceiling room(by all means ya'll can explain this for me I know it's just a cartoon).

What happened to Tucker? And Coach Whitenberg & Trish were clearly white but Tucker looked mixed & she never brought Tucker up so I'm assuming Tucker came from another relationship the coach was in🤷🏾‍♀️

If Grandpa had a drawer full of watches why did he need one cleaned at the jewelry store & have Arnold go through all of that.

And Ruth was a flake(Valentine's Day episode). Anyone noticed the dude she walked off w/ was the same one w/ Maria. "MARIA COME OVER HERE!".

Okay rant over. Just like to know everyone's opinon or rant=)

If Ronda Wellington Lloyd parents are so rich then how come she takes public transportation to and from P.S 118? And how come she's in public school instead of a private one?

I prefer the OG Lila Sawyer character design with the more red hair (as seen on the left)

Is Abner the best boy ever? 🥰

He just seems sweet, gentle and lovable. And greedy of course 😋🥰 But I think he's a great animal character
