Was "Madame Fortress Mommy" a children version of M-word?

Harold often said "Madam Fortress Mommy" whenever he mocked someone or annoyed.
Was that meant to be children of M-word?
I find it bizarre that Harold only said that word.
I think I should use that as password. lol

Had Saban not sold the franchise to Hasbro in 2018, would Kyuranger have been adapted for 2019-2020?

I'm curious if Kyuranger would have been adapted in 2019-2020, had Saban not sold the franchise to Hasbro.

I remember there was article in January 2017, which stated that "American input" (Bandai America) is heavily involved, implying that Toei and Saban must had forward thinking in mind that it would be adapted as future Power Rangers.

https://tokusatsunetwork.com/2017/01/uchu-sentai-kyuranger-to-be-developed-with-american-input/

Given how odd years series has been adapted (Kyoryuger, Ninninger) in favor of even years (Go-busters, ToQger), so it would have made sense for Kyuranger to be adapted next.
Kyuranger is an interesting series, where it's probably the easiest to adapt, since it's essentially a Toei version of Guardians of the Galaxy, a space squadron fighting against space villains.
I'm what full Kyuranger adaptation would have look like; it would have been interesting to see 9 rangers team!

Tokusatsu Theory: Ian Yorkland/KyoryuBlack (Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger) is NOT European!? Possibly con-artist/fraud?

I did not came up with this theory because "Ian was not portrayed by European/Caucasian", but there are hint/sign (sort of) that Ian is not European.

Among the main team, Ian is the only member, not to have his family or relative mentioned or revealed.

  • Daigo/Red - He has (terrible) father, Dantestu, who later become Silver II; mother is unknown, but likely passed away.
  • Nobuharu/Blue - He lives his younger sister and niece, after his brother-in-law passed away; his parents likely passed away.
  • Amy/Pink - She live with butler (essentially legal guardian); her parents (unseen) are abroad.
  • Souji/Green - He live with his father; mother is divorced.

Even additional member like Yayoi/Violet II, has relative, where he has grandfather/Violet I.
It is interesting that show delve into family aspect deeply.

In contrast, we don't know much about Ian's relative and backstory, other than he lost his friend during Deboth initial attack in Europe. I think he did have flashback episode (33?), where his girlfriends was shown, but that was about it.

I think Ian is NOT really a European. It's possible that his REAL name is not Ian Yorkland.
He faked his name to impress girl, by wearing black jacket and spouting "Oh my!".
In Japan perspective, someone from Europe sound really hip and cool, so he decides to change his name to Ian Yorkland to attract girls and looking cool.

He is a con-artist.

I think it would have been funny if Ian revealed (or found out by someone) his REAL name near the end of the show and turns out he's not what everyone think it is. I think it would have been an interesting twist.
He loses his trust for lying and being con-artist, but regain his trust again, for accepting who he is.

I know this theory is a stretch. lol

Just watched Wonder Woman (2019) starring Bella Ramsey...

I just watched Wonder Woman starring Bella Ramsey.
It was directed by Michael Bay and witted by Liam O'Donnell.

...what a horrible movie.
Bella was waaaaaay too young (she was 18) to portray Diana/Wonder Woman.
Bay wanted to have someone young to appeal international audience; apparently, Bay is a big fan of tokusatu, where he like Sentai and Rider, where they predominantly hire younger actor (16~23).

Well Bay, just because something worked in Japan, does not necessary work well in America/West.

Wonder Woman should have been portrayed by older and stronger actor, like around late 20s to early 30s. Ever since I heard the casting, I had a bad feeling that it wouldn't work well; unfortunately, like I feared, it didn't work.

Diana was so bratty and unlikeable; one of the worst superhero ever.

Beside casting, even directing and writing was bad.

Another failure from DC (or DCEU).

Do you think future of the anime and manga will be made by AI (no human artist, voice actors, etc.)? Is AI generated a way of the future?

In recent years, there has been advancement of AI generated contents, whether it is art, picture, music, and video. It has become so realistic, that even I can get fooled and hard to tell the different it it's real or not.

I'm curious if future of the anime and manga will be made by AI (or AI bots).

No need for human artists, writer, and voice actor (anime); all AI generated.

Given how younger audience has become fan and accustomed to AI generated content, unfortunately, this trend might be common.

I prefer real art made by human over AI generated contents, but if that what mass and audience wants, then so be it.
I won't be supporting though. lol

Why was John established as 10 years old in Terminator 2? Why not 13 (like actor, Edward Furlong's age)?

How come John was established as 10 years old instead of 13 in Terminator 2?
Edward Furlong was 13~14 during the principle photography, and they could have established as teenager.
That would have to push Judgment day further, since John was born in 85 and movie would have took place in 98 instead of 95, if John was 13.
1999 would have been interesting year for Judgment Day, due to upcoming Y2K incident of 2000.
I find it weird that 10 years would be riding motorcycle and teaching about meaning of life (no killing) to Terminator/Uncle Bob.

I personally think it would have made logical sense for John to be 13, where he become teenager, learning about responsibility and really start to take step to become leader.
Then again, Cameron's previous work, Aliens, also had kid character, Newt, who was 6 years old (Carrie Henn was 9~10 during principle photography), so I guess it makes sense; I don't think Ripley Newt relation wouldn't have been the same, if Newt was teenager.
Granted, it doesn't matter too much at the end, since movie is great.
Just a little nitpick I guess.

Unpopular Opinion: Jake and Gia (Power Rangers Megaforce) is a better couple than Daigo and Amy (Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger)

Rewarding

Disgusting

No matter what you say and feel about Power Rangers Megaforce/Super Megaforce, Jake and Gia is better (FAR BETTER!) couple than Daigo and Amy. I care more about Jake and Gia, than Daigo and Amy. Gia didn't have her focused episode and she is still better (FAR BETTER!) than Amy.

When mediocre and lackluster season of Power Rangers handles romance BETTER (FAR FAR FAAAAAAAR BETTER!) than Super Sentai, you know there's something wrong.

This is one of many examples of why I like Power Rangers Megaforce than Kyoryuger.

lol XD

Which memory were wiped from 25th Tenkaichi Budokai (Majin Buu arc)?

After Majin Boo (or Kid Boo to be precise) was defeated, Goku wished to erase the memories of Majin Boo (likely including Babidi and his crew) from everyone on Earth with the sole exception of Goku's friends and family.

This begs a question of how many memory wiped from 25th Tenkaichi Budokai, which is still part of the arc.

Spopovich and Yamu were controlled under Babidi, played very important role during the Tournament, include severely damaging Videl and draining Gohan's energy, resulting majority of the competitors left, changed the format to Battle Royale.

After Mr. Satan won, Majin Vegeta killed several audience, yet 10 years later, Vegeta was able to participate in 28th Tournament without problem; though, Majin Vegeta was in Super Saiyan form and Piccolo was able to enter 25th Tournament under Ma Junior, despite that alias was already used in previous tournament.

Here's my guess of which memory were retained and wiped from 25th Tenkaichi Tournament

  • Kid Division [RETAINED]
  • Preliminary "Punch Machine" [RETAINED]
  • Yamu and Spopovich [RETAINED?]; their current status is unknown, but they most likely were not brought back.
  • Krillin vs. Pintar, Shin vs. Piccolo [RETAINED]
  • Videl vs. Spopovich [RETAINED?] - kind of awkward for Videl fan to see that remembered.
  • Gohan vs. Kibito (Gohan’s Great Saiyaman reveal, draining energy by Yamu and Spopovich, and majority competitors left) [RETAINED]
  • Battle Royale [RETAINED]
  • Majin Vegeta rampage [WIPED]

The only event from tournament that was wiped is probably Majin Vegeta rampage for killing audience.

Unpopular Opinion: Power Rangers Super Megaforce ending is better than Gavan Infinity ending

It's amazing that Toei keep manages to make ending less interesting and memorable than bad season of Power Rangers.

I know it's not a fair comparison, since Gavan Infinity is "Chapter 1" of bigger universe (Project R.E.D.), but it still does not excuse for how it ended. It should be self contained story with ending to wrap up the overall plot.
Say what you want about Power Rangers Super Megaforce, at least overall plot was resolved, even if it was rushed and lackluster, it did felt like an ending.
Gavan Infinity ending felt like a show that was abruptly cancelled, where production team had no idea how to resolve it and leave it hanging for next/future series.

You know there is something wrong when Power Rangers handles ending better than Toei.

How in the world, Toei screw up this bad is beyond me. Not that GOOD ending could save the show that is already mediocre to begin with.

No wonder why Toei's tokusatsu in past decade has been mostly struggling; lackluster toysales, low rating, audience not liking, etc.

What would happened to Terminator (Uncle Bob) when John dies from natural cause/old age [alternate scenario]?

Let's imagine the alternate scenario in Terminator 2, where John, Sarah, and Terminator/Uncle Bob, defeats T-1000, but not able to prevent Judgment Day (nuclear war) from happening, and Terminator continues to protect John during the Future War, all the way til the war ends.

What would happen to Terminator, when John dies from natural cause/old age, many years after war ends? Since Terminator is a robot, that has long life span of lasting at least century, he should be alive/functional by the time John is 80's or 90's. I'm curious what would Terminator do after John is gone, since he no longer need to protect him.

Unpopular Opinion: Power Rangers Super Megaforce ending is better than No.1 Sentai Gozyuger ending

Even though Power Rangers Super Megaforce wasn't good anniversary season, the ending is still better than wiener schlock in No.1 Sentai Gozyuger.

The final episode of Super Megaforce had more weight and depth than No.1 Sentai Gozyuger.

You know there's something wrong with the show when Power Rangers (especially in Saban Brands Era) has better final episode and ending than Super Sentai.

Do you categorize Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (2013) as comedy?

I remember when show came out, people were praising for fun, light hearted tone, and humor.
My friends who like/love the show, praised the comedy, where they mentioned it was spot on.
Even though comedy is the subjective topic, where I didn't find it that funny (...seriously 95~99% of comedy failed), but I'm not sure if I would categorize the series as comedy, similar to Carranger, Go-Onger, or Zenkaiger.

Do you think the show is funny and humor is clever that categorize comedy?

Do you think Ian/KyoryuBlack (Kyoryuger) should have been portrayed by foreigner/Caucasian actor?

Ian is from Europe (most likely UK, judging from his name), yet he barely portrayed like someone from Europe.

A handsome/cool looking guy, wearing black jacket, impressing girl, and spouting "Oh My!" as ONLY foreign language (English) spoken throughout the entire series, passes as European?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVjkIyl-mrE

Seriously, Toei? That's the BEST they could come up with?
Is that what Japanese think how European portrays?
Is that supposed to be joke?
Worst stereotype ever and it's not even funny.

I'm sure there are plenty of foreigner actors in Japan, who could have handled European character better.
I don't blame Syuusuke Saito for his performance, since it's not his fault character sucked, but Toei should have tried better.
Interestingly, Kyoryuger did have foreigner actor, Robert Baldwin (Japanese-Canadian), as Ramirez/Cyan I, yet Toei didn't bother to hire another foreigner for main team.
Complete laziness and incompetence for Toei.

\"Real\" Ian Yorkland

James Davies (Chase/Dino Charge Black) in Ian's costume.
Look at it. THAT'S Ian!
Had James auditioned the show 2 years earlier, he could have been an interesting Ian.

Which movies would you like to see released by Criterion on 4K UHD?

Wall-E (2008) is the only Pixar movie to get released by Criterion as of this writing (2026) and even though they don't have any plans to release another movies any time soon (if not ever), which one would you like to see released?

Here's my choice

Toy Story (1995)
A Bug's Life (1998)

Soul (2020)

Do you think Pixar will ever make PG-13 or R Rated movies? Would you watch it if it comes out?

I know this sounds very farfetched and unlikely, but I wouldn't mind Pixar releasing movies for older audience. It may not attract much audience or gain profit, but it would be an interesting move.

I would like to see something like zombie apocalypse movie.

It's interesting that Ultra series of 90's (Ultraman Great, Powered, etc.) and 00's (Neos, Seven X, etc.) had several 12~13 episodes series.

Even though most them are spin-off and foreign production, it's interesting that franchise had several series that was 12~13 episodes.

To put in perspective, Super Sentai (exception of JAKQ), had average of 45~50 episodes range, throughout 50 years. Kamen Rider had sporadic patterns of episode count in 70`s and 80's (at most it's 98 (OG) and least was 24 (Amazon), and 00's and beyond (exception of Decade) maintained 45~50 episodes range. Metal Hero was 39/40~50 episodes, which was pretty consistent similar to Sentai.

I never realized that Tsuburaya made several series that had short episode counts, compared to other tokusatsu. Interestingly, since 2010's, almost every Ultra series if 25~26 episodes range, which shows that shorter episodes is successful for Ultra series.

What if Super Sentai came out BEFORE Kamen Rider (1971) and Ultraman (1966)?

I'm curious how tokusatsu would be different if Goranger came out BEFORE Kamen Rider and Ultraman.

Would Kamen Rider and Ultraman still surpass Sentai in terms of popularity and toy sales?

Would Super Sentai would have retained it's popularity and still continued to this day (No Project RED)?

It would have been interesting to see Super Sentai in black & white, which was common before 1966.

How come Toei hasn't release most of pre-Gokaiger TV series (Goranger~Goseiger) on Blu-ray?

As of this writing (June 2026), among 34 Super Sentai series before Gokaiger (where it started simultaneous Blu-ray and DVD release as show was airing), only Goranger (1975), Dekaranger (2004), Magiranger (2005), Go-Onger (2006), and Shinkenger (2009), has gotten Blu-ray release.

Goranger is HD due to remastering from 16mm film.

Dekaranger and Magiranger are SDBD (technically upscaled SD) due to SD broadcast.

Go-Onger and Shinkenger are HD, since it was aired HD.

Recently, Toei announced Boukenger (2006) DVD re-release, which is repackage of 12 volumes releases into 2 set on lower price. Boukenger is the first Sentai to broadcast in HD, so it's baffling why they didn't release it on Blu-ray.

It's also baffling that only 5/34 series before Gokaiger got Blu-ray release.
In fact, Toei has been releasing older series as repackage release on DVD.
The older era of Sentai were shot on films, where it should have gotten Blu-ray release.

Compared to Kamen Rider and Metal Hero, which has gotten their release on Blu-ray, internationally and domestically, Super Sentai is very sparse in comparison.

Do Toei think there is not demand for Super Sentai on Blu-ray?
People who is going to buy these release are adults in their late 30s~mid 40s or early 50s, where they have disposable income and possibly kids to watch along with it.
I'm sure there would have been demand for popular series like Sun Vulcan, Changeman, Liveman, Jetman, and Dairanger.

Are we ever getting circus motif tokusatsu (Kamen Rider, Project RED, Super Sentai, etc.)?

I would like to see circus motif tokusatsu, where blend of acrobatic and musical, can be very entertaining.
Collector gimmick could be something like token/coin or cards.
I really hope we get one, hopefully, in next 50 years (~2076) or at least end of this century (2100). lol

What if T-1000 was terminated from bridge explosion?

Let's imagine if T-1000 wasn't that strong and terminated from bridge explosion.
How would story proceed from there?

John asking who T-800 is would happen similar to movie, but would he go back to Voight resident, where Todd and Janelle are still alive?

Since T-1000 is terminated, John would not face any danger, for now and don't have to worry about possible death of Sarah by T-1000. T-800 would still need to protect John from upcoming Judgment Day, which would happen 2 years later (1997); most likely T-800 would take John to location, far from nuclear explosion.

I'm sure John would convince T-800 to return to Voight resident, to explain what happened, though I doubt they would believe it, for obvious reason.
In fact, they would probably forced to take John to police station, where officer (T-1000) came earlier for questioning.
John would call T-800, show his robotic arm, like he did in front of Dyson, and explain everything.

Sarah would still escape from hospital, but would she goes straight to Voight resident?
Does she know where Voight lives?
I doubt she would have enough time to check John's contact and address in office.
I guess she would check phone book; though she would have to search from several Voight in Los Angeles, which can take long time. lol

I'm curious how John would reunite with Sarah for this scenario.
I'm sure John would want to break Sarah out of hospital, where he doesn't want her to die from nuclear war.

The third act of the movie, where they would meet Dyson, would happen similar, convincing to blow up Cyberdyne and destroy arm, chips, and T-800 himself.
