Weird thumbnail aside, I wanted to post this because I've seen the video itself and it's pretty stupid. Bro just yaps and straight up does not get to the point until the second half of the video, ans when he DOES talk about Eddy, he talks about how he hates Eddy for being "mean", which is the point of the character. He also says Eddy is "badly written" but straight-up does not explain why, and instead just lists a bunch of bad things he does I bet this guy would HATE Looney Tunes because "Oh, Daffy Duck and Yosemite Sam are so mean, they're badly written!" He also makes an outrageous claim in another video and in this video's description that Eddy "never got what was coming to him." Excuse me, WHAT?!!! Are we watching the same show?! Eddy literally gets more slapstick than any other character on the show, his plans always blow up in his face, and he only has two friends. What more do you want to happen to him, man?

Also, he contradicts himself at the end by saying "but I can't say I hate him, because the show wouldn't be the same without him." Then, 1.) What was the point of even making this video if you don't actually hate the character besides just pointing out the blatantly obvious (mean character does bad things and is bad), and 2.) Didn't you just say that he "wasn't written well" with no elaboration? So if YOU admit that he serves his purpose in the show, than WHY is he written badly? He could have explained how his cruelty was flanderized in later seasons, where he is portrayed as more heartless, but no, he just claims that the character in general sucks because he does bad things and is bad, but ALSO the show wouldn't be as good without him. Okay.

Overall, this video is everything wrong with media literacy nowadays. The dreaded "bad person always equals bad character no matter what" attitude is a cancer. It would have been fine if the video was more "I personally dislike Eddy", but what kills it is how he frames it like it's a critique and claims that the character is "badly written" without explaining why.

Is little Sarah here can smash Naz with a car with total ease, imagine what a grown man could be capable of.

Ed, Edd n Eddy started it's run just after I became an adult, but my connection to it was still really strong. Even as a girl, I felt real sympatico with Double D, and my friend group was a real reflection of the trio.

I'm 45 now, and I still love the show. I cherish this one collectible I have as an ode to the series.
