Plastic-Like Bag not Decomposing
Is this bag just meant for industrial/municipal compost? I've had it in my pile for probably 6 months, now.
Note the very hard to read text where it says "This bag is biodegradable."
Bonus panel: musings on the decomposition and decay 🦴☠️🍁
External Drive SSD Gaming
My question: If I am wanting to boot off of an external drive (my friend has 12gb of storage left on his internal drive, and I found a Crucial x10 1TB SSD that reads and writes at ~2GB/s)...
...Should I install Crossover on the SSD itself, or on the computer's internal drive? Would it run faster/have higher performance if it is installed on the internal, even if all the game files would be on the external? I don't know how Crossover talks to the CPU and to the games/how it translates.
...And then if I go a different route and use Asahi Linux + Proton (he has an M1 chip, so it should work. I know this doesn't work on anything post-M2)... Do I partition the external drive, and then install Proton on the Linux side of the drive? Or does Proton need to be installed on MacOS for it to translate properly? And/or would it run faster if I had Asahi Linux on the external and Proton installed on the internal?
Thank you all in advance.

Extra flavor text that you don't need to read--
Folks, I tell ya hwhat... I've been down quite a rabbit hole in your fine subreddit trying to get Mac gaming to work for my friend.
Suffice it to say... God bless you all. This place is like an island of marooned sailors, to me. It has me clutching my pcmasterrace white gloves like a southern belle with a case of the vapors.
It seems from everything that y'all are saying, Crossover is a very reliable, flexible solution for just about every gaming situation on Mac... But even IT sometimes doesn't work with anti-cheat, and now Whisky isn't even supported anymore so you HAVE to use Crossover... Holy shit.
I looked at Crossover, Parallel, VMware fusion, Whisky (now defunct, of course), BootCamp (largely defunct because of the switch to silicon chips), and Asahi Linux + Proton... And decided that I am just going to send him my Steam Deck. But I would still love for y'all's opinions on this issue, in case he ever decides to game on his Mac Air.
Spot the Difference 😒
...so my cat knocked one of my LotR bookends off my shelf, breaking off his head and... One other thing.
I epoxied both back on.
See if you can tell what the other thing was.
...i'm an idiot 💀
Euro Scrubbies / World's Best (Dishcloth)
Y'all I went ahead and told everybody that these are compostable (www.euroscrubby.com) because they're made of cotton and tree resin... But now I realize that I don't know what the dye is made of.
And I can't find any literature online 100% confirming them as compostable.
...And now the post has blown up and I'm worried I just damaged the planet 💀
Anyone here who is familiar with the brand know if you can compost these, now that I went ahead and told thousands of people that you can?
I feel like the guy who codified the terms Alpha and Beta off of wolves in captivity. "What have I done..."
Dishwashing Cloth
I'm putting this here in light of of the recent post by the poor OP who thought they had a great idea in using plastic mesh dish scrubbers and then had to get schooled thirty-thousand times in the comments about micro plastics.
In the comments, I saw a bunch of people saying they use plastic dish scrubbers, and to all of you who do so, might I introduce you to... The Euro Scrubby!
100% cotton and treated with tree-resin, I use one of these for months at a time. Scroll right to see the giant hole I wore in one of them before throwing it in my compost. They are so wonderfully abrasive that I often don't even need to use surfactant with them to get off crusty material, yet they also don't damage most surfaces.
Oh, and unlike a sponge or loofah that just endlessly accumulates bacteria, you can feel free to throw this bad boy into your dishwasher every week to sanitize it.
I saw other people mentioning chainmail scrubbers, and that may be an even better route... No need to ever pay for a new one/feed the manufacturing/shipping process. I'll be considering chainmail as well, now... But in the meantime, this beats plastic!
I bought mine at a Cook's Warehouse, which may be a local store.
$40 Per Ride Bonus
Atlanta market, obviously.
For World Cup events, we've been getting these $40/ride boosts at certain times (when games let out), as well as $42/Active hour boosts... But I've only managed to score exactly 1 of them. I'm grateful, and it was extremely lucrative $/hr and $/mi ... BUT I also wasted an hour and a half waiting for another one to pop, the other day.
This is with driving around the zone, as well, to try to increase my chances.
What has been y'all's experience with these things in your area? Do you think Uber is prioritizing its black and gold etc. level drivers, and punishing the savvy ones who cherry pick?
