My opinion: The Little Mermaid 2 Return to the sea is my favorite Disney direct to video sequel out of all of them.

Now I know a lot of people don't really like those direct to DVD sequels Disney used to do back in the late 90s and early 2000s. But in my opinion? Out of all of the sequels they made? This one is my favorite one and one that I can watch without any problems. Here's why. Because I like the idea of Ariel being a mother and having a child cause I could definitely see her being a mother considering how even though she's the youngest in the Triton family she still gets to mother Founder a little bit in the original Little Mermaid film like what Jodi Benson said in a video I saw on YouTube. Also I just think Ariel looks more beautiful in this than in the original. Yeah I know hate on me and call me a simp all you want to but I mean in the ending where she's wearing that gorgeous blue and white peasant dress during the "Here on the land and sea" scene? That became my favorite dress that she has ever worn throughout the franchise next to the "Kiss the girl" dress in the original movie. And her hair being completely down during that scene made it even better cause it matches her dress perfectly! I mean I kinda wish she was a mother that I had growing up considering now I have a mom who basically is schizophrenic and does drugs. I kinda think of Ariel as like a imaginary mother that I wish I had. But yeah I just wanted to express my opinion on this movie and why its my favorite sequel out of all of them.

am I the only one who hates this trope in shows from nick jr, disney jr, cartoonito, and pbs kids?

So whenever there's a beach or pool episode, the girls wear regular one piece swimsuits, pretty regular for shows for kids.. Until the boys are seen in swimming trunks but on their torsos they have.... FULL ON SHIRTS ON!!!!!!! Honestly, what were they thinking!?!? They're practically afraid to show a little bit of harmless skin! Frankly, if they can't be brave enough, I don't think they should be entertaining or teaching kids. Honestly? They just need to suck it up and show a little bit of skin because skin is skin. These are just my thoughts, let me know yours down in the comments.

Ngl, rewatching the show, many episodes of Season 3 feel like a fever dream

I mean, it’s still a decent season. It just has quite a few forgettable episodes that feel like a weird fever dream

Did anyone had a crush on this character growing up?

I know this may sound like a stupid question but considering that I have never seen this show when I was little and started watching clips of it on YouTube, I can definitely see a lot of you having a crush on her because she is pretty fine looking for a Disney character. I mean I used to watch Disney channel don't get me wrong. But it was only for shows like Phineas and Ferb, and some Playhouse Disney shows like Special Agent Oso and Little Einsteins. If I did watch this show though? I would've probably had a crush on Kim like everyone else.

Unpopular opinion: I don't really like Elsa from Frozen, and here's why

Okay, before anyone immediately jumps into the comments saying "it's not Elsa's fault" or "it's just a fictional character," I already know that. I'm not saying Elsa herself literally caused anything. I'm talking about the impact that happened after Frozen became one of the biggest things on the internet, especially when it comes to the weird side of YouTube.

Personally, Elsa is one of those characters where I just cannot fucking stand for the life of me. She can't sing for shit, she's so overrated, and she became the face of a huge shift in internet culture that I really don't like: Elsagate.

Before Elsagate became a thing, the internet was honestly a different place. Yeah, there were parody videos of popular kids' characters like SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer, Barney, Elmo, and other famous characters, but most of the time those weren't actually made for kids. They were clearly meant for older audiences who understood the joke while us who watched those old parodies didn't know they were for adults. It was more like internet humor, satire, or just people making weird parody content.

And if you saw characters like that being parodied outside of the internet, it was usually in stuff like Robot Chicken, Family Guy, Mad TV, Saturday Night Live, or other adult comedy shows. The joke was that these characters were being put into situations they obviously weren't supposed to be in. It wasn't pretending to be a colorful kids video while secretly being disturbing.

Then Frozen happened. Elsa became insanely popular, and suddenly YouTube started getting flooded with these strange videos using her, Anna, Peppa pig, Paw Patrol, Spider-Man, Hulk, and other recognizable characters. And that's where Elsagate came from. Again, I know the actual people making those videos are responsible, not Elsa herself, but it still feels like Elsa became the character most associated with that whole era.

What makes it interesting to me is that characters before her were also extremely popular. Ariel was huge in the 90s and 2000s. Belle was huge. Jasmine was huge. Characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ren and Stimpy, Teletubbies, and tons of other franchises were everywhere. But you didn't really see this same type of weird algorithm-focused content built around them in the same way.

Obviously, YouTube wasn't around until 2005, so things were different, but that's kind of my point. The internet changed, and Frozen came around at the perfect time for this new type of content to explode.

And honestly, that's part of why Ariel will always be my favorite Disney princess. It's not just she's pretty either. I actually think her character connects with a lot of people. The whole idea of wanting to experience a different world, feeling like you don't belong somewhere, wanting to communicate but feeling limited, and wanting to become something more is something a lot of people can relate to.

The scene where Ariel loses her voice because of Ursula has even made some people connect her story to experiences around communication struggles, and her desire to have legs and explore the human world has resonated with people who see disability representation or themes of adapting to a different way of living. That's what makes her interesting to me.

Meanwhile, Elsa... I fucking hate her guts. She is way too overhyped. The amount of attention Frozen got was insane. "Let It Go" was everywhere for years, and I know a lot of people love it, but personally I never understood why it became THE Disney song. It feels like Disney has so many other songs that deserve more recognition.

Honestly, "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid deserves that legendary status. That song is emotional, memorable, and has lasted for decades. And while we're talking about Disney songs, "I2I" from A Goofy Movie is also amazing and should get way more respect because that song is genuinely catchy.

Another thing that makes Elsa feel even more connected to the weird side of the internet is how AI content farms have been using her lately. There are so many bizarre AI-generated videos with Elsa doing random nonsense, going to places like IKEA, causing chaos, or just ending with some completely random gross joke. It feels like these content farms grab whatever character is recognizable and shove them into the weirdest situations possible for clicks.

So yeah, that's basically why I don't really like Elsa as a character.

I'll stick with Ariel. She's a classic, she has one of the best Disney songs ever, and I think her story has way more emotional impact.

(Also shoutout to Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters because she's awesome too.)

Anyway, that's my unpopular opinion. Feel free to disagree, but that's just how I see it.
