I'm probably gonna be taking this in the fall. How worried about this class should I be? I've taken pre-cal and trig years ago and don't remember the majority of it. Doing some pre-study and it's hard. I still believe in myself but wanted to go ahead and ask the question anyway. Any recommended professors also?

This might sound a little ambitious, but please bear with me.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, very long while. And I really think we’ve gotten so used to being in our own little worlds that we’ve forgotten how much we actually need each other. Or rather we’ve gotten so scared to connect with one another.

Everyone’s on their phones, everyone’s in their heads, and I feel like so many of us actually WANT to go out, meet people, make friends, have random conversations with strangers, and just experience life a little more. But for some reason, actually putting ourselves out there has become this really daunting humiliating intimidating thing.

And I think that sucks. Like really really sucks.

I’m a college student here in Atlanta it’s my last semester before I move out, and I don’t know, I’ve just been thinking about how nice it would be to actually do something about this instead of constantly talking about how lonely everyone is.

So I wanna throw a party.
Or maybe a social event is a better way to describe it? I honestly don’t know yet lmao.

But I have this idea of creating a space where people can show up alone, meet complete strangers, have actual conversations, dance, laugh, play games, and just have an actual good time without feeling like they need to already know somebody to belong there.

Not some corporate networking event. Not one of those weird forced icebreaker sessions where everyone is secretly praying for it to end already. Just something fun, intentional, and human.

And I think what really matters to me is that people actually leave feeling like they connected with someone. Even if it’s just one person. They went out of their way to go to some event they saw online and actually felt good that they did. I think that would be really cool.

Now here’s the funny part.

I’ve never organized anything like this before. I don’t have a venue, a team, or some elaborate event-planning experience. I don’t even know what the first step is supposed to be.

I just have an idea that I genuinely believe I can make happen, and I really wanna try (Especially before I leave. Heck this might be a post no one responds to but i’m trying regardless)

So GSU, I’m curious.

For those of you who’ve organized parties, meetups, or social events before, how did you actually get started? How did you find a venue, figure out costs, get people to show up, and make sure it was something people enjoyed?

And for everyone else reading, I’m curious too. What would make you actually want to show up to something like this? Especially if you were coming alone?

I know this is all a little vague right now, but I’m serious about wanting to make it happen. I think more than ever we could all use a little of this.

Would graciously appreciate any advice, ideas, or even just hearing about your experiences.

I was really saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. Bernie, I had heard many people give their opinions on his classes and was excited to take his parisitology class and am saddened for his family, students, and peers, may his memory be a blessing :(

It smells like literal actual fucking shit, if you’re not on campus today you got SAVED. Couldn’t even make it up the stairs to get to Langdale had to go through the library

Soo what websites should we be using to get an internship, I’m a sophomore at perimeter and will be transitioning to the atl campus next fall and would like to have an internship summer 2027, but I’m not sure where to look

Does anyone know if I’m able to take principles of chemistry I during the spring and II during the summer? I got put into survey of chemistry for my first semester as a first year and I just now found out that’s not accepted for pt schools.
Idk if I should just take the first class during spring and the second during summer, but i think its accelerated since its shorter time and makes it more stressful, or continue the second one next year in the fall (if it’s available).
But to catch up and not get behind I think I might need to double up on sciences, which is also stressful. I’m trying to figure out which option is better or if there’s an even better option out there

I am a student at the clarkston perimeter campus and prof julie made me love putting my extreme effort in participating and loving the subject. Algebra is not hard but i would never want to leave this course just to stay taking her classes every semester. Shout out to you prof Julie, if you’re seeing this ❤️❤️

Has anyone at GSU ever withdrawn from a lab and lecture at the same time?
I’m currently taking PHYS 1111 and PHYS 1111L, and I’m considering withdrawing from the lab because my grades aren’t looking good. I was told that if I withdraw from the lab, I also have to withdraw from the lecture since they’re corequisites.
I’m mostly worried about impact. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did withdrawing from both affect your or cause you to owe money afterward?

I wouldn't see why I would be but am asking for advice anyway.

Currently dieting for health reasons and I'm wondering where are good places to eat that has food without a lot of salt or sugar content? I know Gusto is a salad place and the dining hall has healthy options, but I'm just wondering where else I could check out.

Is it possible to register for or do a CURE lab as a post-bacc student? Just wondering if anyone has done this before as a post-bacc student on the pre-health track interested in getting research experience! TIA!!

I’m not even kidding I had to walk towards Langdale Hall today and it smells like a septic tank

Is anyone else not receiving emails on their outlook app? I can only see new emails if I login through outlook from my computer. I tried logging out and logging back in and still, nothing. I made sure to check too and make sure it wasn’t trying to log me in with that weird achieve email.
