I have no idea what I am doing. Looking for a good parts kit for an ARM build on a Tort. Anyone have a good reccomendation?

There's a dozen or so on GB but I have no idea what I am looking for. The only thing is I want to eventually have a wooden handguard and carry handle. I can shell out for a new barrel or anything else if that is recommended. Anyone care to point me towards a good condition kit? Thanks!

1980's Galil ARM defective bolt

The rifle just stopped shooting. The bolt is spring loaded. If I press in the pin that the trigger mechanism strikes, the pin is less than flush the bolt on the other side. I don't think the pin is hitting the primer of the round. Perhaps the end of the pin broke off. Is this repairable or do I need to replace the bolt. Where would I even buy a bolt for a 1980's Galil ARM? I purchased the rifle from James River

Part scarcity?

Looking for some advice, I have a 13.5 inch Gen 1 5.56 RNL that is completely untouched. Bone stock.

It's just been sitting in my gun closet doing nothing. I haven't really kept up with the Galil world for a while now but now I am seeing that the RS Regulate handguards are out of stock, the KNS Pistons out of stock and the Midwest Industries rails on clearance.

So what's going on? Are manufacturers winding down support of the Gen 1 Galil or something?

I was going to build this gun out for someone but now that I'm looking for parts ...... I wonder if I wouldn't be better off just selling this and getting them something with more aftermarket support. What is thy wisdom oh redditor of /r/Galil?

Has anyone mixed and matched RS Regulate handguards?

So I went back and forth with Kevin at RSR trying to pry out of him if the 6" or 9" would fit on the 16" 7.62x39mm but he bluntly stated that I needed the GAR-10-MN

He didn't seem surprised that I had an N version of the 7.62x39mm which seems uncommon since most of those models are R version.

N= Two opposing threaded bolts and double rivets

R= One long crossbolt

I think a 16" with a short mlok rail would look cool, leaving the Gas Block exposed. Matching the standard length of the polymer handguard. I can't get confirmation from Kevin, well to put it bluntly he just said they won't work.

But I dont understand why the shorter handguard wouldn't work? All the handguards have the same dimensions except for length. 1.61x2.15"

Anyway, he also told me the Gar-10-MN for Gen 1 Aces will be back in stock soon, which I think is breaking news because I thought they were discontinued. Maybe a limited run?

A stray followed me home today

Galil Ace Gen 1 on the used rack at my LGS. Despite all my wanton spending this past month I couldn't pass it up. Perks of being single, I have no one else to be accountable to.

Anyway, are there any good July 4th deals on aftermarket stuff for the Ace gen 1? I'm talking Galil style pistol grips (that fit the KNS adapter) or a different stock? I'm not sure if you can swap the stock or not. Who makes Galil rails to ditch the polymer?

Galil ACE Gen 1 13in Pistol Safety Issues

I just picked this thing up from my FFL and immediately noticed something was up after taking it out of the box. When I went to remove the chamber flag the bolt felt incredibly stiff. After cranking on it I managed to get it back all the way and the gun went into battery. I attempted to manipulate the safety but it had absolutely no feedback, it was all squish. With the selector on S, I pulled the trigger and the hammer fell...

I attempted this a few times and regardless of what position the safety is in, the hammer will fall if the trigger is pulled...

At this point I took the dust cover off and removed the bolt, upon initial inspection the safety appears to be askew and not properly in-place. It looks like the left side of the safety is riding super high and not resting in the circular hole on the receiver. I went to reassemble and it appears the safety is protruding so far that I can't actually get the bolt back into the receiver.

Has anyone else run into this? Created a support ticket with IWI but if anyone has any suggestions to get this thing operational I'd appreciate it.

CNC Warriors Tubular Stock

I bought the Tubular Stock for the Ace Gen 2 with the threaded section to go in the buffer adapter folder that comes with the rifle.

I was stupid and got the 9" version as opposed to the 8".

This adds up to an astounding 15" LOP.

My question, how likely would it be for me to successfully drive out the roll pin and cut off an inch or more and redrill the roll pin holes. It's crazy long right now and I wish there was a LOP listed somewhere. I googled before hand and the consensus was the 9" would put it around a NATO length (13.5") but I measured and it's a full 15"
