Much like the Steam Frame advertises, playing your PC games native within headset is now possible, opening up a huge library of games without needing to ever plug into a PC.
This video gives behind the scenes info on the development with the now deprecated GameNativeXR Project and introduction to the NEW WinlatorXR version for July 2026
both applications allow you to play your Steam, Epic, GOG and Amazon PC store games inside your Meta Quests and Pico VR headsets- FOR FREE- WITHOUT any PC!
One important point covered in the video is about the hugely popular Meta Quest 3 and 3s VR headsets.
Unfortunately, Meta Horizon OS continues to barricade progress of existing and future developments that could one day potentially bring PCVR into standalone, This is due to the missing Turnip video driver support for Quest 3 and Quest 3s devices.
The Qualcomm drivers that Quest 3 / 3s uses suffers greatly with compatibility and performance compared to Turnip, being unable to render any openGL PC titles, while already having limited compatibility with dxvk (dx7-11) and vkd3d (dx12), sometimes unable to render correctly no matter the container setup.
The older Oculus / Meta Quest 2 remains compatible with Turnip, The PICO 4 Ultra which has the exact same chipset as a Quest 3, remains compatible with Turnip and the upcoming Steam Frame will be functioning solely with Turnip.
This lack of support stops any hope of using existing pre configured game profiles from something like GameNative, which assumes (quite rightly) that turnip would be supported on the GPU in quest 3.
This in part ultimately lead to returning development time to WinlatorXR, where full setup control can be managed in a way that doesn't have the users constantly fighting against incompatible setup being imported and not launching their games.
All code towards the XR modifications has been passed back to the GameNative project and the lead developer has since acquired a Meta Quest 3s, so the future is still bright and in safe hands, our hope is the massive community there can shout louder than me alone with regards to getting turnip support reinstated.

No development builds for GameNativeXR will be shared, but for the new WinlatorXR (CATS27 APK) see the setup guide below

Im on 8 elite with 12 gb of ram. I got a cracked version running on winlator 10 a while back but it caused my device to overheat very quickly once i was in the later stages so i stopped running it but would like to give it another shot.
I have an Odin 3, I want to purchase Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal on GOG, but I think Steam versions will run better. What are your thoughts on my little dilemma, and what games will you be getting for running on your devices during these Summer Sales?
Hello, currently having trouble booting up KH 1.5 + 2.5 remix
Every time I go to launch the game I get stuck on a black screen…currently trying to run the game on my Galaxy Fold 7
The only thing I have changed with the container is which .exe to launch (tried them all and it’s the same thing with every game) and I have also tried the known config.
Any tips and help would be appreciated, thank you!
Trying to play fallout new vegas on my s24 plus US version, but I just get a black screen with a mouse, I've tried many different settings in the container but none change it, the graphics test does work, im playing on the epic games version, the only other game I've ever tried on my phone was the steam version of castle crashers, and it worked out of the box, any help appreciated
I’m using an Odin 3. When this happens on gamehub, the game boots after a few seconds. I’ve been messing with the settings for a few hours on two games (Little Misfortune and Alice: Madness returns) it either stays stuck like this or crashes. I’ve already tried opening the game through the container, changing the resolution, installing wine mono or gecko (tbh, I’m not sure what those do, really), different turnip drivers, wine versions, switching to gitlib, different DXVK versions, switching between Box64 to FexCore, and a bunch of other things but to no avail. Maybe my files are the issue? Maybe I didn’t import them correctly? This isn’t a one game issue, I’m pretty it’s a “I’m dumb and new” issue. Anyway, any help is appreciated🥹
Hi i installed the forest cracked multiplayer gamenative samsung s25 ultra what can i do and i try everything
Finally playing Skyrim on this device! It’s currently on sale on GOG, and this is my very first time playing it. The game looks absolutely awesome on the Odin 2 Portal’s OLED screen. Looking forward to finally experiencing what all the hype has been about!
Settings I did to run on Gamenative if in case anyone asks:
Wine Version: proton-10.0-arm64ec-2
Screen size: 1280x720
Graphics Driver: Turnip v26.2.0 R4
It won’t run full screen so open container and edit the ini file below:
Set bFullscreen in INI: Edit the Skyrim prefs/ini and set fullscreen flags (bFullscreen=1). "/my documents /my games / Skyrim prefs ... find fullscreen there will be bfullscreen=0 change it to fullscreen=1 and then bBorderless=0 to 1 then save
For audio settings, open the container and install both Wine Gecko and Wine Mono through the Start Menu > System Tools.
Ive got a Samsung galaxy s11 ultra.
I know it's a new chip so im guessing that maybe it will improve with uodates but at the moment most games cant pick up the fact I have a gpu and stop after the splash screen with an unsupported gpu message
I updated GameNative to the latest 1.1.0 version, and now every time I open the app it completely freezes. Fortunately I can still run games that I made shortcuts to, but I can't manage, install, or uninstall anything. Anyone else have this problem? Possible solutions?
If I uninstall and reinstall the app I'm guessing it will delete all my installed games?
This is so cool!
Thanks to all the Devs, amazing work!!! 😍
Settings:
Bionic, Proton 10 arm64ec-2, DXVK 2.4.1-gplasync, VKD3D 2.14.1, Turnip v26.1.0 A12 Fix
Lowering the Resolution to 800x600 gives me about 45 FPS in Performance Mode.
Some more tinkering might make it even better.
I'm new to this stuff and have some questions about it so please dont be rude.
I have poco x7 pro 12/512 stock rom-is gamenative ok with mediatek chips ?
And also is it safe to use your steam account ın gamenative
i have trust issues since i saw gamehub had problems about your personal data(i know gamenative is open-source and doesnt collect data but still i wanna ask you about your experiences)
As you can see Game Native and Android have different opinions on how much internal storage I have free. I plugged my Thor into my computer and Windows agrees with Android. Has anyone encountered this?
Everything was working great, but now I can't add any custom game. I downgraded to an old update but it still doesn't work. Can someone please help me.
Check it out!

I'm about to try some steam games via gamenative on my s24u!
Hello!
i'm trying to get a modded copy of FF9 to work on my thor. Gamehub launches the game, but doesnt recognize controller inputs; Gamenative gives me a weird error message instead. Do you know what causes it / how to get the game to work?
here are the specs of my machine and the settings on game native. Cheers
EDIT: i got it to work!!! I needed to download an older version of gamenative, 0.9.0. I followed this youtube guide and it worked! I'm leaving the post up in case someone else needs it
I have been able to use a quite a lot of a MOFAM - An Advanced Guide and Modlist for Fallout 3 , mostly what i felt were within the limitations of a Snapdragon(6 gen 1/4 gen 1) with 4gb of ram and 128gb storage(fallout 3 taking about 25gb of storage).
I would suggest 6gb of ram minimum for a normal experience with the vanilla game, and maybe more if modding. Not really required.
game was running without the pipboy radios cutting off or causing me to crash. Radio heard was part of the mod list.
FOR RUNNING THE GAME I USED
REMEMBER I USED A SNAPDRAGON i must make it clear as some programs may require rendering (see NIFSKOPE) and specific Dxvk(see ZEDIT) versions.
FOR THE PROGRAMS
PROTON-10.0-arm64ec-2
FEXCORE 2512 (mostly idk if it matters) and above used,PRESET STABILITY
Audio Driver shouldn't matter for these programs.
DXVK: used 2.6.2 most times, but 2.7.1 for ZEDIT(not sure it can run)
GRAPHICS DRIVER:WRAPPER use what you need if required other.
GRAPHICS DRIVER: TURNIP non snapdragon may have issues.
XEDIT(64BIT) This modlist had mostly required using the xedit for quickautoclean(QAC) and editing esp/esm which wont work properly without fexcore and preset on stability even if it does run on other presets or with box64.
XLODGEN I dont think it requires any specific settings but if problems occur change preset, Easy As Pushing a Button if you know how it works.
NIFSKOPE using a mod to port Fallout New Vegas assets(not included) I needed to adjust hat orientation by 90° to be worn properly in fallout 3.For this I don't think id need rendering(did have artifacts) but that's knowing what I need to do already. Run however you can,but don't use custom wine themes or it may crash.
BAE(Bethesda archive extractor) for extracting files from fallout new vegas bsa for assets(not required by modlist)
MO2 to pack stuff back into bsa form or create new ones to save a bit of space(where it was applicable as it may not be viable in a lot of places!) used for a few mods, if they caused issues I could easily remove them.does not require specific proton to run but installer is not usable under arm64 use portable install instead.
YOU CAN USE MO2 TO INSTALL MODS AND RUN THE GAME BUT I DO NOT SUGGEST IT as the device used on the video was always an issue with mo2 and i did get the setup running with it on my 4 gen 1(adreno 619 4gb ram) it was too low fps not to do manual install in data. Your experience could be way better but it would still add some overhead,if it crashes you will have to set load order again. I suggest Wrye Bash and the program(Nexusmods) to do archive invalidation.
WRYE BASH can run under most configurations if you use it to do your load order, but may require specific settings since it gave an error on attempting creating a bashed patch,i do need to do other stuff before actually creating any patch/merge though.
GECK I did check the render window but I hadn't seen this work since used on winlator 9 with my 4 gen 1,you can pretty much use anything else I believe I only did create my own creature replacer(as a test). Done other stuff outside gamenative but that's another post elsewhere.
ZEDIT (for zmerges module) may require more ram, opens but crashes upon starting any operation. use at least some version of dxvk 2.7 to avoid blank window.
LOOT was mostly left alone since I am still working out my own merging/patching still.
If it feels half done, probably not even halfway done. I had taken a long 2 months sorting what I could as well as having fun when things pop up and I am almost not wanting to play this game anymore(mostly joking!). I did not go through every possible configuration in gamenative(did enough) and avoided glibc at all times.
Just wanted to do a quick appreciation post, loving Game Native so far.
One of the surprising perks for me is how quick and easy it is to search my entire PC library on my phone.
I've got a decent Steam collection, plus ~500 free games from Epic and ~500 free Prime games spread over GOG and Amazon.
I can't get over how simple it is to search my game collection on my phone, I was about to buy a game on Steam but checked Game Native and already had the game on Epic!
Saved myself some cash and time searching through multiple libraries! Love it!
I have no idea what options to choose from in the options for the selected game. Its overwhelming choices leaves me clueless as to what to adjust and what to leave alone.
