Maryland Norteños 14

Maryland Norteños 14

The Norteños 14 gang are originally from Northern California and are mostly on the West Coast but they also have a presence in the Midwest and on the East Coast.

They've been on the East Coast for years but their chapter in Maryland only goes as far back as the late 2000s. This photo is 2 members of North Side Locos 14 de Laurel, MD which is still a hood but isn't as active as it was in the beginning. From what I know these 2 guys in this photo are either locked up or don't reside in Laurel anymore. The Norteños in Maryland mainly beef with MS13Ⓜ️🤘, Barrio 18 🎱 and Sureños 13 🔵 (their main rivals). The Norteños are probably the smallest Hispanic gang in Maryland and do not have their own group in the MDOC (Maryland Department of Corrections)

Crips 1st color was orange🟧

In early 70's the original Crip alliance was made of 4 gangs:

*Avenues > Eastside Crip

*Gladiators > Hoover Crip

*Denker Boys > Harlem Crip

*Drew Boys > Westside Crip

During this time, they started wearing various logos/sport teams to indetify their Crip faction:

*The 1st gang to do this was the Avenues who wore the Union Gas logo to represent the street they started on east 76th right outside Raymond Lee Washington's high school

*The Gladiators would adopt Houston Astros shortly after to represent the H in Hoover street

*The Harlems would be next to use the Detroit Tigers to represent Denker Avenue

*The Drew boys who got their name from hanging out at Saint Andrews park on 88th actually started a few blocks north on 83rd next to Saint Marks church and they would wear Texas Longhorns to represent the T in 3rd street

(All of these logos are orange and were used during and after the Crip's alliance split)

*On February 23rd 1973, Curtis "Buddha" Morrow (a respected westside crip known for wearing blue) dies from getting shot by a guy he beat up After this Stanley "Tookie" Williams and his gang start wearing blue as tribute to him, eventually this caught on and all Crips adopted the color🟦

What does the term "First Lady" actually mean when used in street culture/gangs?

Hey Reddit, I'm trying to clear up some confusion about a term. I know the standard definitions (like the President's wife or a pastor's wife), but I've heard the term "First Lady" used in street/gang contexts.

However, I know someone who calls a female friend his "First Lady," but they are not in a relationship (and I definitely don't bang or live that lifestyle).

In street culture or gang slang, what does "First Lady" actually mean? Does it strictly mean a romantic partner/old lady, or can it be used platonically for a close female associate or right-hand person? Is this just a Crip thing?

5th and Hill

The 5th and Hill gang is a gang that was formerly located in Downtown LA. It was formed in the 1970s by a group of Mexican immigrants who made a living as day laborers on the 5th Hill streets in Downtown LA. They started their career as criminals by robbing pedestrians who passed through their neighborhood, before starting sales of heroin in the 1980s. Authorities believe they received the heroin in bulk directly from Mexico. The gang is mostly known for being one of the few Mexican gangs in LA that didn’t adopt the Sureno identity, but Rather joined the “Paisa car” in Prison, and adopted “22” to their name, 5th and Hill 22. The 22 symbolizes “BB”, the Border Brothers gang. They’re known for having close ties to the Sinaloa cartel, the Border Brothers gang, and various other criminal organizations. Everything was looking up for the gang, heroin was their best-selling product. Downtown turned out to be an ideal spot to find clients and dealers because of the low-income immigrants that were easy to spot and recruiting was easy because the gang offered a better, easier way to make a lot of money rather than doing manual labor. The gang was known to be the top drug dealers in Downtown Los Angeles, though not everything went as planned. In 2007 the LAPD launched an investigation into the 5th and Hill gang. Months-long crackdowns affected the sales and many high-profile members of the 5th and Hill gang were arrested. “The police, after the raids were over, found over a million dollars' worth of heroin. Police say that they recovered over 45,000 balloons of the product. They also found 85 pounds of tar heroin, enough to fill half a million balloons when diluted. Officers arrested 31 people, alleged leaders of the gang, as well as scores of alleged street sellers that worked for them.” The gang is known for getting along with most blood gangs. They have a few beefs, but their biggest one is with the 18th Street gang. The gang had beefed with Florencia 13 in the past, but buried the hatchet so they could band together against 18th Street. They’re known for throwing up an H, or the number 5 with their hands as their gang sign. They wear mostly orange and sport a variety of different hats. Most hats seen being worn by the gang members are the Florida Marlins, Houston Astros, Atlanta Falcons, and the Pittsburgh Pirates (for Paisa).

Paisa tattoos

Paisas are not a prison gang, they are a union similar to Tangos. They are not under anyone, they are their own car. In SoCal and Feds they run with SS, and in NorCal they run with Norte. In the Feds they are known as Paisa 16, although this is more of a movement than a gang. In Texas they run with Tangos and go by Paisa Tango Mexicles. They also run with PRM, HPL, and AA, although they have come in conflict with these groups. They are sworn enemies of the Barrio Aztecas, MS-13, and Tren de Aragua. In Arizona they run under the Border Brothers. Although they have come into conflict with them. This is mainly due to a Paisa street gang in Phoenix, WBP. WBP even formed their own temporary group called Doble Familia to war against the BBs. Ultimately the BBs maintained control of the Paisa car in Arizona. Paisas are the deepest in the Feds, due to the nature of their crimes.

Raza Unida

The Raza Unida (RU) is a Latino prison gang that originated in 1988 in the southern Texas prison system. The founders of the gang were convicted felons from Corpus Christi and Dallas, Texas. Soon after the gang's inception, a conflict arose between the RUs and another prison gang called the Barrio Azteca. The Aztecas murdered an RU member, claiming that the victim had once been a member of the Barrio Azteca. The claim turned out to be legitimate, so the Raza Unida did not retaliate. Following the Raza Unida’s primary years, the gang struggled to gain the respect from “The Big 3” – the Mexican Mafia, the Texas Syndicate, and the Barrio Azteca, the state's larger and more established prison gangs. In 1992 the Mexikanemi instigated a brief war with the weaker Raza Unida. Three members of the Raza Unida were killed in an attack from the Mexican Mafia at the Coffield state prison. During the conflict with the Raza Unida and the more powerful Mexican Mafia, the Raza Unida had no choice but to join an alliance with the Texas Syndicate. This meant that they gave the Texas Syndicate a quarter of Corpus Christi, which was officially Raza Unida drug-dealing territory. As a result, the Texas Syndicate protected the Raza Unida. In 1994, the TS and the RUs wanted to take over the Brownsville, Texas drug route, which was being run by a rival prison gang, the HPL (Hermanos Pistoleros Latinos). After five years of war, they reached an agreement that all three gangs would share the drug trade in Brownsville by dividing the city into sections. The Raza Unida began to multiply in 1995 after a murderous war erupted between the TS and the Barrio Azteca. The Raza Unida refused to get involved in this war or assist the Texas Syndicate. Instead, the Raza Unida severed its alliance with the Texas Syndicate and declared complete independence. These infuriated members of the Texas Syndicate but the TS could not afford to retaliate against the RUs. While the Texas Syndicate was being consumed in warfare against their rival Barrio Azteca gang, the now independent Raza Unida was able to gain control of the prison drug trade. Unfortunately, the Raza Unida’s newfound power did not last long. In July 1997, the Texas Syndicate regained power and control of the prison system drug trade. During these war years, it became known to the Texas Syndicate that the RUs were importing drugs from the Brownsville, TX, and Matamoros, MX international port of entry and trafficking them to Dallas and Houston, which were predominantly Texas Syndicate territory. In late March 2002, RU members assaulted and killed a TS member at the Polunsky Unit, and lockdowns were ordered for all known or suspected TS and RU members and affiliates. A full-scale gang war erupted between both gangs and violence erupted in units statewide as well as in cities such as Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. The Raza Unida suffered great losses and was on the verge of collapse when a conflict arose among ranking members of the Raza Unida. The RU’s Dallas and southern Texas members split into two factions after the two could not reach an agreement or a truce.

The majority faction is called RU Surenos, which makes up members of the southern part of Texas, and the minority faction from Dallas which remains Raza Unida. The split caused a loss of morale for many of the organization’s original members, and several hundred quit. Raza Unida is known to be tied with the Gulf Cartel and shares many family bonds.

- Raza Unida(Original/Dallas): The original but minority faction, known to work closely with the Los Escorpiones and Los Ciclones factions of the Gulf Cartel.

- Raza Unida Sureños(New/San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Houston): The majority faction of the RU, known to work closely with the Los Metros faction of the Gulf Cartel.

History Of OBlock🔥🔫🅾️🅱️1️⃣6️⃣🏪

Parkway Gardens are Projects in South Chicago Illinois on 63rd - 66th & King Drive to Calumet. Originally it didn't start off being dangerous & didn't have gangs until early70s. The war between Parkway & 63rd started way before 2011 when Tooka & Odee got killed. Alot of OGs say the war actually started in 92 or 93. Despite it becoming a known BD hood later on Parkway actually had different gangs in it like BDs GDs MCz & Blackstones. It wasn't until 2007 when BDs started slowly taking over Parkway. Blackstones & MCz left to joined other hoods. Only BDs & GDs were left which become a war to see who'll takeover Parkway. GDs really did try make Parkway their hood & make everybody flip but the BDs hated the GDs so much they had other BD hoods help them & ran those GDs out. Also Despite the war between 63rd & Parkway starting in early90s it was a different generation & had nothing to do with the shorties from late2000s. Shorties from both sides was actually cool & use to hang eachothers hoods. The war didn't start until 2011 but before that there was always tension. Afew people from both sides the tension started because Trey5 & FBG Duck was fighting over a girl. Parkway also went to war with SKD who tried get different hoods to join them & take over King Drive 51st - 76th but most of those hoods wasn't cool with that. Parkway going to war with SKD what made 051YoungMoney see them as opps. Even before SKD went extinct & became Geo Drive YoungMoney always been cool with them. In Jan 2011 the war officially started because OBlock & TYMB killed Tooka at a bus stop on 63rd/StLawrence. 7 months later in Aug 2011 Tookaville got revenge by killing Odee on 64th/King. We all know Chief Keef blew up in 2012 making drill rap worldwide but Keef been making music since 2008. In 2013 Keef left Parkway forever & moved to California after he got snaked by his own homies. In 2017 a new era of OBlock started called GetbackGang. It started after TB from TyquanWorld & Get Right from Tookaville killed TRoy. TRoy is super respected since he became a known killer after Odee was killed. 2017 was the turning point of the war & the whole 63rd was never the same again. GetbackGang became even more memorable because TRoy's little brother HK stepped & got revenge for him. That year GBG got Lil Ho TB Brick Coby Mac & Poppie. Also in Dec2017 King Von got out of prison after beating his murder case. After afew months of being out Von started rapping & making songs. 2020 was the year that the war between OBlock & 63rd wasn't the same again. On Aug 4th 2020 OBlock would slide downtown in Gold Coast killing FBG Duck. Despite THF Teezy lying about being in danger to convince them to slide they were happy to get Duck since he was the main opp from that side they wanted dead. 3 months later on Nov 6th 2020 King Von was killed in Atlanta Georgia because of something unrelated to his Chicago opps. Von was killed by Lil Tim after him & OTF was trying to jump Quando Rondo so Tim started shooting. Slutty & Louie shot Tim but their guns jammed so they couldn't kill him. Also APD started shooting killing Slutty & injuring Louie with a headshot which ended up killing him 4 years later in 2024. In 2020 the shorties under GetbackGang started their own set similar to OBlock called Jaydo Jumpout Boyz. They started in Feb 2020 after Jaydo got set up in a fake deal by opps. Jaydo use to sell pills & his opps had a girl called him acting like she wanted buy some pills. Jaydo Boyz went crazy similar to GetbackGang getting revenge for Jaydo in 2021. In Oct 2021 OBlock got hit with a RICO for killing Duck in the richest neighborhood in Chicago so far only 6 people got arrested for it. These days OBlock not really a BD hood any more since their shorties into it with aton of BD hoods now they claim Renegade & Insane BD. They're also at war with 600 & Front$treet their former allies.
